Well that was shite, couldn’t beat a team down to 10 men then down to 9.Really struggled to create chances which is a worry.Hamish at the back is a bomb scare he will cost us goals this season.Players looked tired already and it’s just the first game of the season, needs to be a lot quicker and sharper, maybe the training regime is all wrong and Kirk’s tactics really are baffling.Louden is wasted out on the left.Get him through the middle with Grady.

Does this clown go to the games?  Good result against probably the dirtiest team in the league. Hope our knocks aren’t too serious. Result without McHattie, Seth and Lewis but wasn’t a good watch.  Will get better!

A very good win today.A very strong team this season, our defence is greatly improved from last season, teams finding it hard to break us down. Our football in the first half was excellent can’t wait until they play that way for the full 90 minutes.

The other teams in this league can’t cope with our free flowing football and resort to being thugs. We need more protection from the very inconsistent officials how their forward never got sent off for the elbow on McHattie baffled me.

Also good to see the support get behind the team and the players acknowledged that at the end.

    Mon the City

Very honest and fair comments by the Buckie manager today EXCEPT he thought the injury time tackle was not a sending off offence! Not only was that one but also the above mentioned elbow!

    Good result today.
Much better side once Davidson went off. Some times I think he disrupts the flow of the team.

For the first time in my long supporting life I honestly believe the ref had it in for the opposition from start from finish.

Some of the bookings were hardly fouls and the penalty.............................

Can play them in the league until end of March.

I see your keeper was a trialist- he was man of the match are far as I was concerned. 3 or 4 tremendous saves kept the score down to a respectable figure. Should sign him now!

  5. Crazy game today! Second half City overran Strathspey and had it not been for an incredible series of saves from their keeper it could have been 12. Penalty miss annoying but thankfully not crucial although big chance to close down Fraserburgh goal difference wasted. All credit to Strath who kept trying to the final whistle. Nerves in tatters at 3.05pm.

  6. To be fair we did exit from our end but on entering the ground we were told by the steward to go the way I have described. As far as segregation the Morton supporters didn’t mingle the way we Brechiners do with yourselves. Good luck for the rest of the season

  7. Went to this game with a Morton supporting mate. Wanted to sit in the visitors part of the main stand and was amazed to find that we had to go to the top of the steps in the ‘home’ side, make our way through the occupied top rows in the middle of the stand to get to the far end. Genius planning  by the Montrose powers that be!

When the announcer welcomed the Mo onto the pitch my Morton pal correctly commented that it was a shame the announcer couldn’t speak English! Didn’t understand a word.

Unique day though - Morton through to next round then up to see the City second half ( another win) then watched Scotland’s great win over Israel.

All the so called fans getting excited winning our first 2 games against shite teams, just wait until we play the better teams and we will see us struggle.

    We need tob braver.

All very well setting up not to concede goals but very little going forward in terms of support. We never won a second ball all night or got on the end of opportunities.

Up side, another point but we need wins.

Were you not at the  game?

City deserved their win. With far less of the ball, they looked far more dangerous. Their experienced players, mc manus McCord Hill all played well. We contributed to our own downfall. Keeper (and others ) at fault for the first goal. McCord given all the room he wanted to pick his passes, whilst our own midfield continually misplaced or overhit theirs. All these cards we are picking up are going to hurt us, and so many of them are for really stupid things. City seem to have found a way of playing th a suits the players they have, and have a fighting chance of beating the drop. From a pie and soup eating perspective I hope so

One small point. Whilst nobody puts much store in the BBC stats they do say City had 55% possession. Doesn’t fit with your “far less of the ball”!

Great stuff City. Wasn’t at the game today but sounds like a good performance as well as the right result - well done everyone and hopefully we can keep  it up and get off the bottom before the end of the year

Great performance today - not a failure in the side. The work rate was fantastic typified by Olly Hamilton. He never stopped running and his second goal finished off a great move brilliantly. Fully deserved his man of the match. Referee spoiled the last 5 minutes with his meltdown - totally inept after a reasonable performance for 85 minutes. Well done City - keep it up.

Mckendrick is one of the better refs in the League - enough experience and sense to refrain from littering games with cards as is the fashion nowadays. Fans complaining have been conditioned to expect cards right, left and centre

No - we expect a blatent trip in the box to be a penalty or being brought down in the edge of the box to be a free kick. Also it was disheartening to see the guy running the show for Stirling to be allowed to foul continually without being penalised. But again a good game with neither team looking like relegation fodder.

Good summary . I agree about the ref. McKendrick has never been very kind to us in the past but he was brutal yesterday. Pabs was another who got away with constant fouling, mainly climbing over McManus ............something he always got booked for when at us .

Felt the ref yesterday had a decent game, let play carry on and only blew if he felt it was a foul. One of the better refs we have had this season on our travels. We have had some shockers at Forthbank this season refereeing our games but felt Mr McKendrick was okay by the usual standards of League 2 referees. He can turn up at Forthbank anytime. emoji3.png

Kinda proves my point about the ref if Stirling fans thought he was ok!

  14. From a neutrals point of view a really entertaining game with neither side looking like bottom of the league candidates. From a City point of view we were badly treated by a one sided  ref today. Albion’s number 8 was allowed to foul nonstop without punishment and a number of blatent fouls were not given to us - especially the trip on Hill in the penalty area in the first half and then on Ngoy in the second. Having said all that by full time we were hanging on for a point.  We’ll play much worse and win.

  15. If Elgin had had their shooting boots on we could have been a couple down at half time but as the game went on we looked stronger and stronger. Both keepers had crucial saves and again Paul McManus worked his socks off.  Definite signs of improvement and excellent application. I just wish Duggie Hill would  stop conceding free kicks on the edge of the box.

Only 3 points off promotion pay off place!

They guys not even stared yet and the negativity has started already give the guy a chance.

Couldn’t agree more. Anyone who doesn’t give him a fair go at this should a) stay away from the Glebe and b) stay off P & B. Let’s all get behind the Club.

Certainly got the playing experience for the job.

Another week we are left hanging on against a team who in all seriousness we should have had scudded at half time.

Why do we sit so deep ?  Why do we not just have a go at teams?  Two weeks on the trot it has been blatantly obvious that our players are not cut out to sit on a one goal lead . So why persist with such a negative tactic?

Ach I give up .No one listens anyway.   Soon our crowds will be below 200 solely down to what is happening on the pitch .  I heard more than a few grumbles from diehards that they are seriously thinking of other Saturday afternoon pursuits rather than watching that frustrating pish week in week out.   They all know our team are capable of a lot more but playing with shackles on is no good.

Come on Darren .  Just  throw caution to the wind and for once concentrate on attack .....for the full 90 mins.  If not then you know where the door is.

My complaint the the non existant use of substitutes as a tactical move. Why did Boris come on today and against Forfar with five minutes to go? Certainly a good way to convince Boris to sign an extended contract!!!  It was obvious today that young Hendry should have come off with half an hour to go. Even I am getting fed up with this and over the last 50 years I have stuck through some dire football.
