  1. I don't the SJFA are taking the 10% this season.
  2. Correct. You used to need to literally kill someone to be suspended before Christmas Or maybe just a straight red and you don't need to kill anyone.
  3. They've edited that page within the past few hours and a few officials that were down on there as being suspended for a month are now no longer there.
  4. Talbot represent themselves, nobody else. Hit the nail right on the head. They are representing Auchinleck Talbot. Only Auchinleck Talbot's bank balance will increase as a result of their appearance. They are pulling further and further ahead of all the other junior clubs in players and facilities because of their involvement in the Senior Scottish. Their involvement in that should not hinder fixtures in the Juniors.
  5. This has been causing confusion. Most people will look at this as 16 sectional groups and the knock out stage begins at the round of 16. This confusion would have been avoided by the Region using plain English and saying "Trialists are still allowed in the round of 16 clubs" as that's basically what it boils down to. I know technically the Region has still said this in a roundabout way - but how many people look at this competition as 8 groups? EDIT : Ok, it will be more obvious it is 8 groups when the two sections in each group are re-drawn next year. But these first two years it isn't as obvious to your average punter.
  6. They were drawn last year so this year will just be a reversal of home advantage. I know this doesn't help much......but I'm waiting on the same thing.
  7. So only two days to prepare for the quarter final?
  8. So I'm assuming the split in the Divisions is no longer required as there won't be any entry to the Pyramid at the end of next season it will be the season after that if it happens at all?
  9. So Largs go from having three home games in 2017-18 v Winton, Kilbirnie (Sat) and Beith to a shared gate home match with Saltcoats last season. And if I've figured things out right it will be two seasons with no Saturday home game. Just scrap the competition.
  10. Looking at the stand figures (my own guestimate in brackets based on empty seats) - I couldn't tell how many empty seats where Largs fans were so just used the actual figure given). West 3204 (2800) North 2246 (1950) East 498 (300) Disabled 70 (?) Totals 6018 (5050) Difference with attendance given 4629 is 421 so it does seem a fairly accurate figure. I'd say the SJFA got their size of stadium spot on in giving Talbot the main stand and the gazebo and Largs the stand behind the goal.
  11. Unless there's been a change in the rules there's no point posting in the Juniors section as they can't play friendlies then. Or is the date being brought forward because they want an earlier finish to the League season?
  12. "Congratulatory speech made" I don't recall the World Cup winners getting a congratulatory speech made. Or FA Cup winners. Or Scottish Cup winners. Maybe in tennis - but not in football. Genuine question - does it happen? What are they going to say?
  13. I found it funnier than anything I've heard Kevin Bridges come out with.
  14. I would imagine that there is only a set amount of medals and it will be up to the clubs themselves to decide who gets them - or they need to purchase more themselves. So it all comes down to how are the medals handed over. Are they handed over at the time of the presentation? Or are they handed to the clubs behind the scenes - in which case, what difference does it make what they are contained in. Just moaning for the sake of moaning.
  15. I'd give them a Pinochet Helicopter Tour.
  16. 5,788. There are some pictures here : http://www.myfootballtravels.com/2010/05/rugby-park-2010-scottish-junior-cup.html
  17. That's what I said - so at least one club gets to play in their traditional colours. The powers that be decided both clubs will play in their away strip.
  18. We went about 25 years without winning down there.
  19. We had one at home to Troon put off a couple of years ago. It was breezy in the morning and the amateur game that was on was ok until the last 10-15 minutes or so when the wind really began to ramp up. By the time the match ref got there the wind was howling and it was the sensible decision to put it off. I was meaning at Barrfields - I know of multiple games being put off on the one day. Just that some were complaining refs are putting games off now that would go ahead in the past. Two in the one season for Largs whereas the previous three decades there might only have been a couple of games off because of the wind.
  20. Curiously its the second time Largs have had a game affected by high winds. One thought that occurred to me was this was the second time this season but I can only remember one time previously of a game being called off due to wind. Or maybe I'm forgetting others when there's been almost a whole card of fixtures put off.
  21. OK - Largs and Talbot it is then. Now - have we got a date set for this match?
  22. I doubt if anyone from Largs INSISTED on tickets being issued. They may have ASKED if tickets were being issued as that is required by the SJFA in Scottish Junior Cup games. "9. In all rounds of the Scottish Cup Competition, including the Semi Final, where applicable, it is the responsibility of the home club to ensure that every spectator entering the ground receives a numbered ticket on receipt of entrance fee. These tickets will ensure the proper number of people entering and the correct gate receipts thus allowing both clubs to enact Cup Competition Rules - Rule 2. " As for the Euro Millions - I had to laugh at the St. Roch's fans chanting about this. I doubt the Euro Millions winner has set foot in Barrfields in years. I don't think he even lives in Largs any more. I could have swore I heard someone say he'd moved to Troon. I will echo the comment above, your club is definitely heading in the right direction.
  23. Full time clubs going into a part time league. Now they are going into a full time league so is a lot harder.
