  1. Fair play to Annan. That was awful right, honestly think McPake might be the only person on that pitch who wasn't utterly dreadful.
  2. Aye, I'm the exact same as you. I genuinely love the sport but it's tiresome. As I mentioned in another post, people applauding Garcia when he clearly isn't well. On the same card, Charles Conwell had a patch on his shorts about Pat Day and the absolute tragedy surrounding what happened there, yet no one called Garcia on any of his chat about wanting to kill Haney and wearing T shirts with RIP on it and stuff. The homophobia from Canelo last night isn't surprising. I think sport is improving a little on it but boxing is on the dark ages - imagine Modric screaming something homophobic at Tuchel before the game the other night and not a single person calling him on it. Garcia has also been saying homophobic stuff on his twitter today. Even when boxing is getting the best fighting the best, it still seems to find a way to be horrendous.
  3. Garcia popped for PEDs and Canelo openly shouting homophobic slurs that go unchallenged by anyone on the stage or in the media. I love boxing but it's an absolute fucking shambles at times.
  4. I would suggest it's fifteen years of drastic cuts to public services, mental health support, plummeting living standards and a generation with ever decreasing hope in having a future worth anything. Depressing seeing the amount of c***s on social media today clearly delighted by an opportunity to blame Sadiq Khan for something.
  5. Our mobile policy works well and is similar as to what was described in the original post. However, we have made a decision to be zero tolerance about it and have dedicated lockers that phones go in to at start of day and are removed from at end of day.
  6. It was a weird spectacle all round. On a night where Charles Conwell was opening the show and knows all too well about the harsh reality of boxing, it sits even more horribly all the chat about killing and assassination that Garcia especially came out with in the build up. Whilst the narrative now will be that he is trolling, I'm unconvinced that he doesn't have difficulties still with his mental health and hope they are resolved soon. In hindsight, Haney had this coming a little. I thought he was very fortunate against Lomachenko to get the decision a totally shot Linares had him in big trouble. Fair play to him for taking the fight even though Garcia came in so far overweight, though I think all the concerns about Garcia pulling out influenced him on this. The Barboza decision on the undercard is one of the worst I've ever seen. Mad, because that was a fight of the year contender and should have encapsulated everything great about boxing but somehow, it still manages to leave a bit of a bad taste.
  7. Yeah, Irwin was incredible. If pushed for a top 3, I would go Irwin, Cole then Robertson.
  8. Yeah, add me to the list of not just wanting a hefty inheritance tax but incredibly tight regulation and hefty punishments for avoiding. Personally, I'm lucky in my family that my parents are both in good health despite being older. I am one of six and and my brother will be in charge of everything when my parents pass. It will be really modest and I couldn't give a shit, I'm just glad I have been lucky to have the parents I have. We have encouraged them to spend everything they have in their advancing years so they can enjoy them but it's not in their nature to do that. For my missus, it's a slightly different position. Her father is minted and her and her siblings stand to inherit millions. You can already see it becoming shitty between family members and some of them talking as if the poor c**t is already dead. I really hope he gets rid of loads of it to charity tbh and fucks them all off.
  9. It is absolutely mental how sensitive that boomers get when they're rightfully told they had it relatively easy and many of them burnt the ladder they climbed. House ownership being put out of reach for many, over a decade of austerity, leaving uni with huge debts, public services slashed to the minimum in many cases meaning mental health support is difficult to get - it's absolutely no wonder that many young people don't have hope and the associated difficulties that come from that.

    Berlin

Thank you for this - had an enjoyable Friday afternoon in there.
  11. Yep, with you on that one. Love Cliftonhill and agree with every point you made there. Definitely top ten, probably even top five for me.
  12. Hertha BSC 3 - 2 FC Magdeburg A phenomenal experience and a quite mental game of football. First time ever going to the Olympiastadion, some stadium and both sets of fans were incredible with pyro all over the shop. Hertha dominated early and spurned loads of chances before Magdeburg took the lead. Hertha scored a pen then Magdeburg got a straight red - Hertha scored from the resulting free kick. Then something happened that I've never seen before. In first half injury time, whilst Magdeburg were waiting to take a corner, Hertha fans launched tennis balls on to the pitch. Each time they were cleared, they'd launch a few more. Eventually, the ref took them off. Fifteen mins later, they returned and restarted from the corner and played the remaining four mins of injury time. The ref blew for the end of the first half and the teams swapped sides and went straight into the second half. Magdeburg levelled before another brief stoppage for fireworks. Finally, Hertha got a winner although almost conceded an equaliser with a shot off the bar at the end. I'm aware this reads a bit like Ralph Wiggum wrote it but was genuinely one of the most entertaining games I've ever been at.

    Berlin

I'm in Berlin for the next few days. At the Beirut concert one night and Hertha another night. I've been before a couple times and done main sights, anything anyone would recommend that's not the usual touristy things to do in the day (I'm not drinking at the moment so no pubs unfortunately). Also, best kebab and currywurst recommendations please.
  14. When coming through the ranks at Aberdeen, who was the better Darren at reading - him or Mackie? If he could sign any other league 1 player, who would it be?
  15. Real Madrid TV put in a consistent effort to intimidate refs and spin a narrative that it's them who are always hard done by. It ends up dominating discussion before matches and putting pressure on referees. Common enough tactic I guess but utterly blatant.
  16. The Real Madrid-Almeria game at the weekend was possibly the worst officiated match I've ever seen. No wonder Almeria were raging.
  17. The Strokes for me. Think it's fourteen times now.
  18. I did the Portuguese Coastal route last summer - absolutely loved it. Thinking about doing a week somewhere on the Camino Frances route or maybe even the Fatima walk at some point this year. This year so far, have booked in: Berlin in Feb. Lisbon weekend for 10k race in March. Georgia for a week in March. Frankfurt and Berlin in June for the Euros and Darts World Cup. Looking at going for a month somewhere in July/August but can't decide where yet.
  19. Beterbiev was sensational as always. Added bonus of a head loss from Tony Bellew on twitter too.
  20. I hope Humphries absolutely batters him. Reckon it will be tight though.
  21. Hopefully a 6-0 win for Humphries here and for him to batter Littler tomorrow too. Williams is a fud and it would be funny see someone as dull as Humphries stop the fairytale that sky are desperate for.
  22. Agree with others that there are several - the aforementioned solo pints are a rare joy. Loving abroad, where I get back a few weekends a year, the first pint with family/pals on a Saturday lunch after landing and pre-football is a great pint. Also, first Friday afternoon pint on a sunny terrace after a week of work is also glorious.
  23. Absolutely love seeing those Geordie/Saudi c***s get pumped. Lovely stuff.
