  1. Point taken. We don't know what the nature of Marshs' comment was. Irons may have been left with no choice but to fire him, although i'm hearing from some that it has been something of an overreaction. The decision to remove Marsh has left us extremely light in central defence. We didn't name a full squad yesterday so to further deplete it doesn't make any logical sense at all unless as I said previously the player has went beyond the pale. For what it's worth, Marsh hasn't been any worse that his CH partner this season which, if anything, is actually an even bigger disappointment
  2. Weakening the defence to the point of collapse is not setting an example - it's reckless, borderline incompetent, management.
  3. Criticising Smith for his performances is ludicrous. He's a stand out goalkeeper at this level and is certainly not one of the problem areas in the side. That said, his off the ball antics are frustrating and he always seems to be spoiling for aggro. Can certainly understand some of the criticism in that regard.
  4. If this is what I think you're referring to and the rumours are indeed true then yes we can definitely be considered an amateur-hour tinpot club. Embarrassing.
  5. Easy, lad. Easton would be a welcome addition at any club from lower level championship downwards. Kelty must be lobbing incredible amounts of wedge around.
  6. I haven't really being paying attention to the goings-on at Kelty tbh but these signings are absolutely 1st class for Lowland League level. Easton and Reilly have been stand-outs in the games I've seen them play in this season. Anything other than a Championship win with this calibre of player would be an abject failure. I'm certain that even Bazza will be able to achieve that. Do Kelty fans truly understand how good these guys are for this level?
  7. We decided to take a wee saunter along the road to Broadwood for yesterday's game and, tbf, thought it was a very decent game of football. Clyde impressed me with the way they wanted to play the ball out from the back. As mentioned by some others also, I thought Ray Grant had a decent game at CH. His direct runs with ball at feet through the midfield reminded me of a young Roy Aitken and it certainly added an extra dimension to the Clyde attack. Goodwillie and the number 11 both looked lively and had no shortage of skill on the ball, although I did feel the wide men were very wasteful with their delivery into the area, particularly in 1st half. Annan were running down the clock from the get-go which is frustrating to watch but all part of an effective plan to strangle the game. Whether you could call it cheating or not is another matter. Chris Johnston and Aidan Smith were the away sides main attacking threat and both look to be very capable players. I felt Clyde had to score early in 2nd half otherwise Annan would see the game out and that's what more or less happened. The decision for the penalty looked contentious. I'll need to see it again but from where I was sitting it looked very harsh. Clyde ultimately deserved their win so all the very best to them. A decent wee footballing side who might do ok next season. Annan are getting stick for how they play but it's not all physical shithousery, they do definitely have a bit of panache going forward. If they can keep a hold of Johnston and Smith then I reckon they'll be playoff's again next season.
  8. Tapping is an interesting one. He looked half decent at Brechin last week. Certainly their only player of note.
  9. Biggest concern for me is the lack of goals from anyone other than McGuigan. That's the priority to be addressed before the next campaign. Is Hurst the man for that? I'm not so sure I'd be bursting a gut trying to keep him tbh. The nucleus of this squad does look quite promising for League Two. I actually think there's a player in Duthie - when he's prepared to be direct his strong running does cause problems, much like Cook on the other flank. I'd be happy giving him another year. Munro and Marsh as CH pairing should be solid and despite obvious criticisms of Smith at GK I'm certain he'd do us a turn next season. Any other names being bandied about?
  10. Isn't it just? These guys were preoccupied with cup finals and Premier playoffs recently. Now they're trying to lord it up on Stenny v Annan threads. Sad times.
  11. No mistake about it - shocking officiating in both legs has cost us our place in League One for next season. Some absolutely ridiculous stuff on show today. F##k the SFA
  12. Falkirk getting an absolute shoeing from just about every corner of the country this evening. Imagine the laughs from some when the inevitable bankruptcy is announced? Carnage
  13. I know what the guy is saying - our best chance of silverware you'd usually say would be in the bottom tier. It would be incredible to have the experience of actually winning something for a change. That said there is absolutely no way you can ambivalently wish away a season with a relegation, especially given the potential of a league campaign next season with a wounded and fragile Falkirk. I've never seen us play a league game against them in our history.
  14. Warriors to see out the league campaign out with a draw provoking scenes on the Glebe terracing. Is Flicks still open?
  15. Yes, results have been somewhat underwhelming.
  16. It has been a bit of a pile on by fans of other clubs which, in many ways, has been a bit unfair. Falkirk's current situation should be concerning for the vast majority of Scottish football fans. They're one of our games traditional big(ish) clubs and to see them teetering on the brink of a disastrous relegation to the 3rd tier of the game is nothing short of a disaster. This is a club who in recent seasons have competed towards the upper echelons of the league system, have been to 2 Scottish Cup finals and had an academy that was as productive as any other in this country. Compare and contrast that with their current plight which has seen them perform diabolically in the league, suffer an incredibly embarrassing Scottish Cup defeat to their local rivals (which has seen droves of young supporters change allegiance to aforementioned rivals) , be tainted with a horrible and untimely racism allegation and have to fork out thousands in fines to cover the tapping-up of a deeply unsuccessful manager. Its also worth remembering that the clubs playing resources are worth next to nothing and they don't hold any tangible assets (the Falkirk Stadium is entirely owned and funded by local taxpayers). An annus horribilis to say the very least!! As fans of the lesser lights in our game we shouldn't be kicking Falkirk when they are down - we should be sticking together. I take no pleasure in seeing a grand club with the stature of 'The Bairns' flounder in such spectacular fashion which is why I would hope my club would extend the hand of friendship to them when the inevitable eviction and bankruptcy occurs and vote to have them parachuted back into the senior set-up or, at the very least, offer an extended groundshare agreement at Ochilview. Together in friendship.
  17. Can’t see it tbh. Newco Falkirk to be promoted from League 2 playoff in 2025 more likely scenario.
  18. IIRC this character was one of the ones absolutely desperate to jump all over the alleged racism incident at Ochilview, in another bout of seriously odd behaviour from Stenny fans. Not really. Was merely reiterating the statement from YOUR OWN BOARD but you can deflect away the criticism from your current plight all you like.
  19. Tbf this post is utterly pathetic. Tbf this post is utterly pathetic. Really? Care to explain why?
  20. I’m entirely comfortable with our standing in the game. A relegation to League 2 is certainly not the end of the world for us. In Falkirk’s case, and with the dire financial situation the club is currently in, a relegation to League 1 is a situation that they will struggle to recover from potentially for years to come. Administration beckons.
  21. This really could be time up for Falkirk as a going concern. Real possibility that if they go down they’ll be another Airdrieonians, a team who were previously genuinely capable of silverware in the 2nd tier but have since slipped to League 1 mediocrity and struggle to get near 4 figure attendances. Falkirk have become a club with no money or tangible assets, have an apathetic fan base, and a playing squad who’ll be lucky to stay in League 1 next season. All very concerning for Falkirk fans but UTTERLY FUCKING DELICIOUS FOR THE REST OF US
  22. There were quite a few clubs who changed their crest in the late 80's/ early 90's. Rangers and Hibs spring to mind immediately and we also changed our badge around the same time. Was all that due to this heraldic nonsense? Our old badge is a cracker!!
  23. As said previously, an Irish Bohemians fan felt it was necessary to comment upon some (from his perspective) Anti-Irish sentiment from King Kebab. The delightfully named 'Yer maw does cooncil' also made ill-judged remarks that carried xenophobic undertones. Both posters are East Fife fans. Maybe condemnation of your fellow fans should be considered before you complain about being offended?
