  1. He's going back to Stranraer. Played for them as a trialist on Saturday.
  2. Paying a full time squad, having Leeann Dempster as chief executive and appointing a director of football from AZ Alkmaar won't have come cheap. Add in paying off two managers in the last 12 months and the cost of development lesser Hampden and you'll have spent a fortune. Don't think anyone will deny that Goodwillie will be on a high wage but we've had to fill the rest of the squad with utter shite like Rob Jones and Billy Mortimer to compensate for it.
  3. First time that I've been to a game for a while with the restrictions etc. Lennon has the Clyde time much better drilled than when I see them previously. I thought the defence was solid and dealt with anything Queens Park threw at them, which wasn't that much to be honest. As the game wore on Queens Park did start finding a fair bit of room down either flank as the Clyde defence tired but they done little with it. Big problem in the Clyde team is there is nothing in midfield or up front without Goodwillie. There is no one that can get a foot on the ball and keep it so we largely defended for the full first half. The second half was a much better performance and with Goodwillie up top we carried a threat. Couldn't really see how the Queens Park goal ended up in the net looked like Parry saved it initially and we had a few bodies around him. Goodwillie finally hit a decent penalty against Queens Park to level it up. If the header at the end was either side of the keeper then we would have picked up 3 points. Queens Park used to routinely beat us when they were amateur but have failed to do so since going full time. They had most of the possession but huffed and puffed a lot and didn't create many clear cut chances. There was plenty of crosses along the box which I was expecting someone to get on the end of eventually but never happened. There was plenty of mis-hit passes from Queens Park too which was poor from a full time team. They weren't great in defence either. Decent point that keeps us ticking over but we could really be doing with getting few more players in plus Cuddihy and Cunnigham back from injury.
  4. I don't agree that we signed these players blind. The only ones you could arguably say that about is Kennedy and Splaine who hadn't played much first team football. Jones, Gomis etc all played plenty enough for their former teams. It's why plenty of us were alarmed at the signings. I watched Jones play against us several times last season and thought he was rubbish. Lennon might not be scouting the players but again him and Moore will have seen them play often enough to know what they are about. As for Mortimer, he's played 13 times for us this season. I'm sure if Cowdenbeath were interested we'd more than happy to give them a copy of the games he played in to try and get him off the wage bill. That's before you add in the 50+ games he's played for Queens Park and Cumbernauld Colts. There would be plenty of footage of Mortimer playing and enough coaches, managers etc that Cowdenbeath could talk to get an informed opinion on him. If Lennon talks him up as much as he did on the website when he signed then hopefully somebody might be daft enough to sign him.
  5. Can't say I really agree with this if you read back at Lennon's comments when we signed the players during the summer it does mention that they watched them play, watched videos of them and spoke to the players coaches and managers. Giving we are doing the "due diligence" as Lennon put it it is frightening how poor the quality of players being identified is. We also increased the budget this season and got a transfer fee for Mitchell so you have to question why we are back looking at players like it is the Duffy years all over again. The lad from East Fife couldn't even break into one of their worst teams in recent memory. It doesn't exactly bode well for any other targets.

    The Expanse

It's only book 6 that will be wrapped up at the end of this season. Hopefully it gets picked up again to cover the last 3 books.
  7. Thought episode 1 of the Book of Boba Fett was OK, 2nd was really good but the 3rd is fucking awful.
  8. Using rape and child abuse to point score on a football forum is utterly pathetic.
  9. Doubt there will be as many loan signings available with teams worried about players being out with Covid. We got a fee for Mitchell just before the last transfer window shut so surely we still have that alongside any other available funds.
  10. Ironically Howie left Clyde because he didn't want to be in another league 1 relegation fight. Did seem a bit of a strange move considering he signed when Alloa didn't have a manager in place. He's a decent centre half for league 1 no surprise to read that Ferguson is playing him in midfield instead [emoji1787]
  11. Will never understand why anyone gives a shit about giving or receiving red dots.
  12. Wow! Shocked at the result. Fair play to Lennon and the players they continue to dig out results.
  13. Wasn't at the game yesterday but when Ferguson crouches down then you know your fucked. Usually signals that he is frustrated with the players has no idea how to change things. I wouldn't have been fussed if Lennon had left Clyde any time from the summer to now but when you remember you could end up with another Ferguson it does make you think twice. Lennon is very good at getting the best out of alimited team. Big drawback is that it was him that signed these bloody players in the first place.
  14. Considering how poor the Clyde team is it is mental we are 7th and 6 points off the promotion play offs. Well done to the lads today [emoji106]
  15. The write ups he gave all the signings in the summer will surely never be topped. We would literally rather play anyone at right back than Mortimer.
  16. Basically put up or shut up? Seeing as the crowd was less than 500 then fair to say plenty of fans have had enough.
  17. I could be mistaken but I don't think VoL would have been relegated even if there was no Covid issues last season. Kelty went up, Brechin went to the HL and the winner of the tier 6 play off would have taken Kelty's place with VoL spared relegation. Factor in the LL deciding to increase the size of their league by admitting two Old Firm B teams rather than two teams from tier 6 and I do agree that the bottleneck between tier 5 and 6 is worse than between tier 4 and 5.
  18. I think it's crazy that we've been at Broadwood for 25+ years and we are still at square one in terms of making it our home. The club does absolutely nothing in the local community to attract any new fans. Instead we've wasted so much time, effort and money looking at other locations. None of which have even come close to actually happening.
  19. I would be surprised if the CIC structure is stopping any takeovers or investment in the club. More likely is that no one is interested in financing Clyde. The board is largely made up of Clyde fans who although are trying their best may not have the skill set required for the various roles. I don't know how you can change that without making the board members paid positions. The only two times that has been different is the previously mentioned Ronnie McDonald and Norrie Inness, neither of which lasted long . With McDonald we know we missed out there and don't think we will ever know in the case of Inness. The club desperately needs something to change and a change in manager is much easier than trying anything at board level. I think we are heading for league 2 with Lennon in charge anyway and may as well throw the dice and get somebody new in.
  20. Should never have been a charge to use Arrira lounge anyway. It was another stupid decision by the board but at least they've reversed it now.
  21. We don't have the players to play 433 this season. It worked in previous season because you had the likes of Lang or Howie at the back and McStay and Grant in midfield. Unfortunately we are miles away from that team now. 352 is about the best I've seen from us. All our centre backs are too slow to play with just two there. I would even be tempted to play Munro or Mortimer at wide right to get Cuddihy back into centre mid. Up top has to be Goodwillie and Cunnigham, Jones offers nothing.
  22. Frightening the pish Danny came out with on some of the summer signings. He would rather play anyone at right back rather than Billy "ticks all the boxes" Mortimer.
  23. We may not have the biggest of budgets but there is no getting away from the fact that Lennon has squandered a significant amount of it on some utter dross. Whatever wages have been spent on McCormack, Cassidy, Andrews and McGrath could have been utilised elsewhere. Then bringing in the likes of Mortimer, Jones, Docherty etc with Lennon's comments when they signed ridiculously over the top. He then resigns Munro despite knowing how limited a player he is and the same for Rumsby. As for the board, they try their best and are hard working but their skill set is limited and its the same faces that have been there the past 20 years. We could really be doing with some fresh faces and ideas.
  24. There was a big advertising campaign when Clyde initially moved to Broadwood. The Here the Dream Begins posters were everywhere and Clyde constantly took up pages in the Cumbernauld News. I remember the Morton 0-0 game. It was absolutely freezing and we still had a crowd of 2,500. The initial season or two there was a lot of open/family days at the stadium and I used to go train at the 5 a side pitches every Saturday morning which was run by Clyde. You also had the Shoot TV show that was filmed at Broadwood and featured a young Brian Carrigan. You could also buy Clyde shirts and scarves from every sport shop up the Town Centre. The club did feel part of the community back then but a combination of a poor team, poor location of Broadwood, it was miles from anything back then, and not keeping the momentum going meant crowds started tailing off. I've stayed in Cumbernauld for most of my life and you would barely know Clyde still play in Cumbernauld now. Doesn't help that every few years there is some big news announcement about the club looking elsewhere again..
