  1. I think most like Pierce, but many would also prefer Harbaugh, which seems to be on the table. It’s not often there’s an elite coach both available and interested. He may still prefer the Chargers gig due to Justin Herbert, but he’s close with Mark Davis having been on the Raiders staff in Oakland way back, his wife is from Vegas and you don’t pay any state tax in Nevada… If he does go to LA (or indeed stay in Michigan) I would be fine with Pierce getting the job. ETA - two examples of the types of tweet we’re going to see a lot of in the next couple of weeks. “Insider” accounts making speculative posts as if they know anything: They even used the same cover picture for their tweets.
  2. Would absolutely take him. But if a fee is involved and we’re competing with Dundee United then I can’t see it. We’re very short of depth in the winger department. If either Fitzpatrick or Lawless get injured I’d no idea what we would do, so I can completely understand if Doolan has asked the question about Thomas. The only thing we potentially have going for us is location, but if United blow our bid out of the water by £1k p/w then not much we can do.
  3. Yes I do disagree, because you really weren’t on top of the game at any point. Getting near the Thistle box a couple of times early doors does not equal “being on top”. To suggest otherwise shows either a level of delusion or a lack of knowledge of football in general.
  4. I’m glad my standards aren’t as low as yours for my football team.
  5. No top flight games this week in either Scotland or England.
  6. Another falling out due to the crackpot, toxic Low-sympathiser. Great stuff. Mitchell is pretty much the definition of mediocre anyway, so not a big loss if that’s his time up at Thistle.
  7. Was just about to use the exact same word to surmise this Dunfermline performance. I know there's a ton of injuries, but this performance has just been so toothless.
  8. Livi are in for him. Martindale keeps pleading poverty though, so that might be the one Premiership club we could compete with financially.
  9. There’s rumours that Mark Davis is getting itchy feet about some of these big names that might be available, like Belichick and Harbaugh, which is steering him away from what would be the logical decision in retaining Antonio Pierce. I think AP has done enough to deserve a shot, although the offense needs a complete overhaul regardless of who gets the gig. New OC, new QB, new OL. ETA - there’s always a couple of unexpected firings. I’ll guess the list of HC vacancies are: Raiders Panthers Chargers Commanders Patriots Titans Saints
  10. That Ark Sports lunatic isn’t fit to be a football agent. Hopefully Milne can replace him with someone who isn’t a weird, angry little man.
  11. If Mitchell is finished at Firhill, then yes. If Mitchell has indeed fallen out of favour (whether through his idiot agent or not) that’s disappointing. He’s not great, but I do think he’s slightly more reliable than Sneddon. He doesn’t make as many “wow” saves, but he also doesn’t chuck in as many pathetic nonsense goals as Sneddon does (eg. today’s). Either way, can we please, please have a new keeper in the summer. I’m sick of this clowncar alternation routine.
  12. Plus Doolan from Auchinleck and Craigen from Edinburgh University a few years later. We historically have a very good record of bringing players in from far lower down the pyramid who go on to become established full time professionals.
  13. A 24yo from the team 15th place in the 6th tier, is an… interesting choice. Not the type of signing you’d imagine we need to clear three players from the books to sign - so hopefully more to come.
  14. I’m surprised the commentators on the BBC have spent so much time talking about us challenging for the title. Nothing we’ve shown this season has given any indication we’ll be anywhere near Raith or United. Far too many holes in the squad to compete, as today proved.
  15. Can’t say the scoreline isn’t deserved. Imagine letting that wee waster score a hat-trick, though. Riddy.
  16. 1-0 flatters us, United should be out of sight here. A collective of shite performances so far from some of our usually reliable players. Some of it was United being excellent in their pressing, but even when we had decent space in attacking areas, our use of the ball was dreadful. The set pieces in particular were abysmal.
  17. I thought his point was fairly obvious. And spot on. If he places that shot either side it’s very likely a goal, and instead he blasted it over.
