  1. I think he's benched permanently now. Garoppolo has a similar clause in his contract that Derek Carr did, where if he doesn't get hurt they will save $11.25m in dead cap if they want to move on from him. If you're not playing you can't get injured, right? Normally that would make sense, but Jimmy is the kind of guy who seems to be able to get injured tying his shoes, so we'll see... But this all points to moving on from Garoppolo after only 1 year and 6 starts. Which I'm fine with, as he looks finished.
  2. Happy is an understatement. A stupid, terrible, costly hire by Mark Davis against all the evidence 16 months ago. Still don’t have complete faith in him to get it right this time either, but at least we’ve reached the end of this utter disaster.
  3. Our second 2-2 draw in a row where we haven’t looked great. I thought that the Muirhead penalty was a terrible decision, but that Bryden was onside for the disallowed goal, so those decisions probably cancel each other out. Two poor teams and an even worse referee, who in addition to the two glaring errors above, had a night where he got just about everything wrong and only served to enrage both sets of fans. It’s a damning indictment of the quality of teams in this league that we’re still 3rd.
  4. Lions should have won that by about 50. Josh McDaniels is an absolute disgrace of a man.
  5. Some bottle job by Banks o' Dee. Edit - ignore mention of Huntly. FlashScore was saying the game was still in regular time but apparently it's in ET.
  6. He’s a frustrating player with (what appears to be) a questionable attitude, but he’s clearly a very talented player at this level. If we didn’t have Graham he’d start most weeks, and I’m convinced would be scoring a lot of goals.
  7. Greg Taylor waving his arms in the air as if it’s someone else’s fault when he retreated from a potential challenge where he would have almost certainly won the ball about 3 seconds before the goal.
  8. Do Celtic fans not know Kyogo’s last name? I noticed that instead of the announcer shouting, “KYOGO” and the fans calling back “FURUHASHI” after the goal, which is the way this sort of thing normally works, the stadium PA went with “KY” and the fans said “OGO”. Which is just a bit weird tbh.
  9. Apologies, I didn’t even clock that there were separate threads for each season. Just got excited that Ajax were losing again and jumped in the first thread I saw with “Dutch football” in the title.
  10. Utrecht recover from 3-2 down to beat Ajax 4-3, including a 90th minute winner. This means they leapfrog Ajax, sending the latter to 17th place in the Eredivisie. Glorious.
  11. Brian Hoyer starting on Sunday vs the Bears, ffs. Josh McDaniels is the absolute worst. What’s the point in playing a 38yo career backup when you’ve got a rookie you could be evaluating?
  12. He shouldn’t. But in Spanos, you’ve got a very good reason why he might. After the Chargers lose to KC next week to drop to 2-4 the schedule really opens up. Not a lot of tough games left in the final 9, so it wouldn’t surprise me to see you throw together a good run and finish 9-8 or 10-7 and the “improvement” in the second half of the season will see Staley retained yet again.
  13. All of the above? I think Payton’s ego is too big to tank because he’s such a sore loser, but it certainly looks like that might be what the Broncos are trying to do right now, given the Gregory trade and rumours of all the other players on the block.
  14. Because he’s Josh McDaniels and he’s an idiot. I’m surprised we won, but the Packers were really bad. Love doesn’t look like the guy tbh - which is probably just as well because the Packers have been spoiled at QB for 30 years so they were due a letdown at the position. After this win, and the fact we have a very generous schedule coming up for the next couple of months, I’m worried we’re playing ourselves out of the high draft picks and potentially *shudder* going to keep McDaniels for another year.
  15. I like Tony, he seems a good laugh. Speaking of laugh, though, his one sounds very weird. Like a bunch of "ck" noises coming from the back of the throat. Never heard anyone laugh like it.
  16. No. Statements have suggested that the dispute between directors is unrelated to this investment. It sounds like they started before the McClymont offer was on the table.
  17. Creevy actually seems a bit… unhinged? One minute talking about legal action, and the next splattering every thought he has about the situation all over social media.
  18. Doing good things with your money and being a dick are not mutually exclusive. His cash got us through to the end of the season, which gave the club time to steady the ship. I don’t think we could be selective at that point in who we were taking cash from, and yeah, as others have said that investment should obviously be appreciated. That shouldn’t detract from anything he may have done (or not done) since then which deemed him worthy of getting the boot.
  19. The Polmont Loyal, another band of losers for the list. It’s great to think about how miserable these sort of utter reprobates will be right now.
  20. “Ross Count” ”Chri Ross” ”Douglas MacRae/Douglas MacRea” That’s just individual names that I’ve noticed spelling mistakes for. Haven’t even properly read the main body of text where I’m sure there will be many, many more grammatical disasters to be found. Based on this alone, it looks like we made the right decision to get rid of Creevy
  21. Of course it would be nice to know the terms of the investment. It would also be nice to know a lot of things at the football club, but just because we’re fan-owned now doesn’t mean it’s open season and everyone on a forum or social media gets to know everything. That’s not what fan ownership is.
