  1. Indeed, an utter bigot and seemingly a homophobe as well.

Oh Davie what have you done?!

That's a ridiculous comment and It doesn't even make sense. Cracking example of oxymoron though.

And some people say I take the forum too seriously. I work with many gay people and have banter about it with them in pretty much the same way I have often called fellow Celtic fans I work with '****** b*****ds' when we play our 6-a-side games, despite shock, horror, being a '****** b*****d' myself. Let's lose the PC attitudes.

  2. The opposition probably had a lot to do with it.

I think it'd have only been marginally better if we played a Hearts or Aberdeen tbh. My own kids wanted to stay in cos it was too cold & I couldn't blame them. Wondered why I was going myself with the rain battering me on the way to the ground.

If we played the same opposition when we were originally meant to, I think you'd be looking at 56,000 tonight instead of the 40,000+ it appeared to look like.

Even Partick's usual travelling support looked about 2/3rds of what they usually bring.
  3. Poor crowd tonight & that's with the allocation of free tickets all being snapped up by ST holders which means many ST holders gave this one a miss. Given the weather, temperature, time of year etc then it's no surprise and given our heavy fixture schedule you have to wonder what the crowd would've been had this game taken place in the summer as intended instead of in the midst of Winter/Christmas.

Cheers for that Celtic. Freezing my balls off tonight. It's much appreciated.

  4. Just in from the game. Celtic deserved the win but Thistle played well & if they had taken a point, you couldn't have grudges then it. The game was a bit like the Dundee game on Saturday in the sense we could've ended up dropping 2pts but whereas Dundee came not to lose and played for a wee bit towards the end of the game, Thistle actually started brightly and had decent wee spells throughout the game and tried to press us so credit to the Jags for having a go.

Thought the Thistle keeper pulled off a couple of very good saves that kept us from doubling our lead. The one from I think it may have been McGregor was particularly good how he got down so quickly. Looked like it had goal written all over it.

Be good to get to the end of this run of games and get back to playing our regular 11 in games. Having played almost the same starting 11 most weeks, and starting to change it the past fortnight or so, you can see where some unfamiliarity is creeping into our play, especially in the 2nd half.

Oh well, 14pts clear & still a game in hand.

  5. Is Davie Bhoy the guy who said that the hanging blow up dolls at Parkhead had their hands tied behind their back to make it easier to get through the turnstiles?

If we want to be correct, I wasn't saying that specifically was why it was done. I just said it as a 'who knows why they did it, could it be because...', since people where wrongly claiming it was for other reasons but hey, as per the bloodhounds were all over it.

So then you have no reason to complain about fouls given against you? I really don't see why you are whining about it.

As I said, we press more so therefor get penalised more for opposition players 'playing for the foul' & conning the ref.

This is ridiculous Davie. In literally every football match ive ever seen, a striker pressing a defender in possession nearly always gives away a free kick with minimal contact.

The very notion that this is somehow unique to Celtic or you're being picked on is utterly paranoid nonsense.

Of course Jupe, I'm not suggesting we never foul. My point is that often we get penalised for winning the ball fairly or because the defender takes a dive to win a foul to stop a far superior player taking the ball from him.
  6. Isn't that the same for all teams though and not just Celtic?

Certainly every team gets some fouls against them for this that shouldn't but as Tony pointed out, we play a high pressing game. We have more possession and do by far more attacking than any other club in the league so we find ourselves in that position a lot more.
  7. i was looking to see if we could play an all Scots team with the help of the under 20's the back 4 would be the only problem?

Do you remember the season Larsson broke his leg? We played Dundee Utd at home in the last game and we put out something like 8-9 of the U20's against a full strength Utd side. Larsson played something like his only game or poss 2nd game since returning from injury to try and get selected for Swedens upcoming tournament whichever one it was....& we still beat them
  8. That's not what Davie is saying though, he doesn't think Celtic merit the number of fouls that they are being penalised for. I'm asking why that is.

No but I don't have to add too much to that, other than to say that of the "niggly fouls" as Tony put it, quite a fair few of them shouldn't be fouls at all. Slightest contact on an opposition player and they go down like a sack of spuds as they know they're losing the ball deep in their half, and the ref as expected, blows the whistle.
  9. Cold day in Glasgow. Would imagine tonight it'll be absolutely freezing. Could put some people off going.

If the U20's play it'll be interesting to see how this affects the unbeaten run. Would imagine only 1-2 would be on the park at any one time. Saying that, I'd still fancy us to pick up a win.

Broony returns from suspension so I expect plenty of moaning on here from Thistle fans who want him booked for every tackle. Plenty of moaning also from the fans of other clubs who have to make do with the commentary from Celtic TV on a link they are not paying for.

  10. (that part I highlighted)
So you believe there's one set of rules (via opinion) for Celtic and the rules of the game for everybody else?

Can only say what I see. Anybody who has actually watched us this season and think we merit the number of fouls against us compared to the opposition is one digestive short of a packet.
