Yip in Munich. They’re a strange team this season, utterly brilliant in the Champs league and poor in the Bundesliga. I was really hoping Freiburg/Union Berlin would keep up with them and Dortmund to keep it more interesting.

And the next game on April 1st is Der Klassiker at the Allianz Arena. If Dortmund win they’ll go 4 points clear with same games played.

I was based near Freiburg with my work in the late 90’s for 4 months and I can only echo the above.. Brilliant stadium and fans, fantastic small city and summer weather is almost Mediterranean like. Great beer too. Regret never getting back to a game at that stadium but have visited the area with my family a few times (Europapark close by was a firm favourite with the kids). Always look out for their results.

There has been hints from the usual HR departments and directors of a return to the office for ‘health reasons’ in our organisation, ‘it’s not healthy to be stuck your house’....lot of p1sh. I’m hopeful of wfh 3 days a week and if they tell me I’m going back into the office 5 days I’ll walk out.

Of course you should have the right to opt out, however if you’ve opted out and later on you require an organ to save your own life then you should be put straight to the back of the queue, or better still not in the queue at all.

I’m going to watch it Friday to Friday, something to look forward to with a few beers. Like you say the characters are excellent. I’ll probably end up watching 83 again after it’s all finished.

Good stuff it continues to get better. Still prefer D83 but this is still a good watch. Looking forward to 89 next month.

Stick with Deutschland 86 it does get better. Deutschland 83 was fantastic hard to beat. Regarding Babylon Berlin where can I see it from season 1?

Just seen this and dont know if you’ve been yet but it’s an area I’ve visited many times and we as a family love it there. North west of Munich you have gorgeous walled towns such as Dinkeksbuhl and Rothenburg South west you have Fussen the famous neuschwanstein castle. The town of Fussen is nice to have a wander about. South of Munich is one of my favourite chocolate box villages, Mittenwald, and the ski resort of Garmisch...where Winter Olympics took place in the 1930’s and Germany’s highest mountain. Take the cable car up. as mentioned before South West of Munich about 2 hours from Munich is Berchtesgadener land. Truly breathtaking lakes (take the boat out in lake konigisee), visit the eagles nest, Ruhpolding, Inzell, Berchtesgaden...with it’s dark history.

Peritonsillar abscess in throat...GP sent me away telling me to buy some throat sweets. The pain was excruciating, couldn’t swallow, ended up calling nhs24 later that night. No over the counter pain killers were helping. Got sent to hospital immediately and Doc checked me out and seen the abscess...she couldn’t believe gp missed it and said if I’d left it another 24 hours it could have become life threatening. they got a huge needle and burst it... I wouldn’t wish that pain on anyone, truly horrendous.

Do the evening tour of Alcatraz if you can. We did the day tour then a few days later the evening one when it was dark. Both were excellent but the evening one was more eerie. Fantastic city.

Weren't they just fantastic hot hatches though. The scariest thing about them was taking a corner at speed and to not ever lift off the accelerator or you were a gonner. They loved being pushed and pushed. I had both and the 1.9 was the one to go for. I remember someone was kicking about in a 205gti with the Mi16 engine (think it was the 2.0 16v from a 405??)) installed. Mental. Cousin had a golf gti mk2 and would never have swapped it.
