  1. Don't forget the death trap uncovered terracing that away fans are subjected to.
  2. It could be close, there may be some room on standside to extend - but not other side.
  3. Some seem more impressed than others with Petershill, I thought they were average and their biggest threat was their physicality and not surprised they were relegated last season. So disappointing we couldn't get over the line due to another defensive lapse. Going into our Opening game next Saturday, it will be interesting to see the selection. Personally, this season I'd like to see us go with a more settled starting 11 and using our 5 available subs opposed to regular rotation. Let them grow into a team and build on partnerships.
  4. Rose played some very fast paced attractive football and thoroughly deserved the 6-0 lead at half-time. 2nd half was a bit more lethargic, with usual host of substitutions. Losing a goal was always on the cards as defensively we can at times be neglectful of our defensive duties. This is certainly an area we need to be more mindful about. New boys all look useful additions.
  5. You can involve 16 players every game. Keeping most of the squad regularly involved. Ideally I'd love to see a more settled 11 and would certainly settle for what you suggest over a regular rotation.
  6. Agree, would personally add Allan to that list. But as referenced let's see what the new boys add and take it from there. Albeit I don't think Herdy will change his philosophy from rotation to more settled.
  7. Agree, all good teams start with a strong defence. As we can at times be gung ho - to our own detriment. Personally this season, I'd like to see a more settled 11, with good use of subs, opposed to a squad rotation favoured by Herdy. (To be fair this has worked well for him).
  8. For me groundshares shouldn't be encouraged, football should be a Saturday afternoon kick-off with limited exceptions.
  9. Ultimately this decision looks to have been made purely on football. Rehabilitating offenders isn't an overnight activity and an early guilty plea can be as much about overwhelming evidence etc. Football is full of offenders convicted of all sorts of crimes - many who continue to offend and many who turn their lives around. Its not an overnight fix. Tranent have made their decision and will have to accept sponsors / local community reaction to the decision.
  10. SIGNING NEWS The Club is delighted to welcome the arrival of highly regarded striker Calum Rae. Calum will officially join The Rose on 1st July on expiry of his contract with University of Stirling. Welcome to The MV Commercial Prestonfield Stadium Calum!!
  11. Owen was initially a tremendous signing at Linlithgow, then he seemed to get a bad work related injury (?) And was never quite the same. A great guy and hope this move works well for him.
  12. Linlithgow Rose can announce it has agreed a deal for the transfer of Mark Stowe to Arbroath F.C. We would like to thank Mark for his significant contribution to our double trophy and league winning seasons and look forward to him gracing the Championship with his goal scoring prowess in the coming seasons!
  13. The Club can announce it has agreed a deal for the transfer of Mark Stowe to Arbroath F.C. 14. Absolutely crap. Why would he want him out the door? This all occurred shortly after a rumoured approach for a signed Linlithgow player. Yes he could sit tight for a season and Linlithgow get nothing - but a year in football is a long time. Mark is well respected by club and supporters - so back to my point why would we wish him gone?
  15. Mark Stowe available for transfer from Linlithgow Rose. 46 goals in our title winning season.
  16. No, brother was Archie, from Blackness. Curly farmed Pardovan holding.
  17. Was sorry to hear of the passing today of Curly Robertson (from Philipston), a long time Bo'ness supporter - albeit not in recent times due to his age / health.
  18. Head clearly been turned by ££££'s Great player, but not bigger than club, so probably right to move in.
  19. Well done to Dunipace, who showed the right approach and attitude from the off. Twice we gave up a lead because we wanted to many touches in the wrong areas. Dunipace knew to press high with that knowledge. Disappointed to see us starting with the best right back in the league on the bench in favour of McKenzie playing out of position. We can have absolutely no complaints over the result.
  20. In summary the SFA continues to fail Scottish football.
  21. How sad a life does someone have to go back to posts from years ago to award Red Dots? A question only 8mile Can answer. Anyways back to celebrating a Championship won on the park.
  22. Champions is something you don't tire of hearing. Started on fire today and a quick goal calmed the nerves. Haddington keeper had a few outstanding saves to keep them in the game. 2nd goal and we kinda took the foot of the pedal, losing a goal then Ogilvie being sent off, made for a tense finish. Queue celebrations, in a fantastic display of sportsmanship Haddington waited to form a guard of honour as Rose players returned to the dressing room - an absolutely Class act. CHAMPIONS
  23. Only good thing about the Derby is the 6 points we are guaranteed.
  24. How Championships should be won - on the park...!!
  25. A bold claim, however results have been excellent against Premier opposition. Not sure if this is down to teams taking them lightly and changing line-ups etc. Only time will tell, but with an alleged budget to rival most in the EoS that could be sooner than later as they progress through the leagues..
