  1. I Know You Got Soul by Jeremy Clarkson. Not a novel, but him talking about various machines / engines that have been made over the years that he thinks are amazing, for various reasons. I love his style of writing too, totally dry, witty sarcasm etc., suits me. 9/10.
  2. Dunno if it was ever a TV series, but they borrow pretty heavily from a book called The Holy Blood And The Holy Grail: Amazonian Clicky For what it's worth, I thoroughly enjoyed it. There are some parts of the plot that are holier than a Swiss Cheese - I won't go into them in case I spoil anything - but still an enjoyable yarn, and really helps you picture certain scenes that were hard to imagine in the book. I'd give it an 7, but I got a BJ after it, so we'll call it a 8
  3. Going to see The Da Vinci Code tonight - will report back with a full review when I get home
  4. Went to see Silent Hill tonight. I've never played the game so I'll judge it as a film only - 7/10. The monsters in it were genuinely creepy and the plot was quite good, some of the set pieces (involving the guy in the toilet) were really freaky. Loses points for the The Village-style "commune" that seem to exist in the place, they don't really fit in with the rest of the film. Overall, an enjoyable yarn, would have probably gave it a 6/10 but we got to see it for free so a 7's a fair score.
  5. Manic Street Preachers - Motorcycle Emptiness
  6. Went to see The Producers tonight, took the prospective g/f to see it. We didn't know what to see so just picked a film at random - really enjoyed it, good songs and a few great comedy moments. 8/10. Hell, Uma Thurman looks amazing in it, so I'm going to bump that up to a 9.
  7. Watched School Of Rock last night. Very funny and a kick-ass soundtrack. 9/10.
  8. Joe Jackson - Is She Really Going Out With Him
  9. Enter Sandman by the 'Tal. Best rock / metal song ever. FACT.
  10. Just back from seeing Doom. WHAT A FILM! Dodgy (at best) plot, ropey acting, questionable dialogue - yet very, very, very enjoyable! Leave your brain at home and go watch it, it's fantastic! 9/10 (would have given it 10 if the bird had gotten her chebs oot at any point).

    Gigs

A good few of my mates off to see the Foos tonight, wish I was going (although the SECC's pish for gigs)!
  12. National Treasure. Enjoyable brainless romp through the Good Ol' US of A, in the vein of The Da Vinci Code. Sean Bean is once again superb, as is Nick Cage. And the female lead is hot! EDIT to include: forgot to rate it! 8/10.
  13. The main gripe I had with it was that he's supposed to be sneaking around avoiding people for quite a lot of the film, and wears a Haiwaiin shirt that's totally noticeable!
  14. This Is Spinal Tap. All time classic. I'd give it 11.
  15. I actually quite like Leprechaun! I think I rate it so highly as the original JP still ranks as one of my favourite films ever, and remains to this day the best cinema moment of my life. I was really disappointed with TLW, especially at the end when they turned it into a Godzilla movie, but I thought JP3 was great!
  16. The Interpreter, 9/10 Ladder 49, 7/10 Jurassic Park 3, 8/10 Creep, 6/10
  17. Bugger, just found out she used a body double for a lot of the scenes so probably wasn't even her.
  18. Went to see Wedding Crashers in the cinema last night. Blooming marvellous and a superb show of jubblies on view, including the delectable Isla Fisher waking up Vince Vaughan's character by dangling them in his face. Nine out of ten.
