Not sure. Was a bit of a fleeting conversation on route to the toilet on Saturday. To be honest, at first I thought he was on the wind up when he mentioned us offering money but he was pretty adamant. There are a lot of rumours floating about comings and goings so I'd certainly hope we'd be getting some other bodies in.

With the controversy that follows us, heads would explode if we signed him. My ex's brother and mates were witnesses. So my opinion on him is shaped by what they had to say about the court case...etc. As such I personally wouldn't have any problems signing him. However I think I'd be in a minority. If we did sign him I'd imagine there would be a lot of Airdrie fans as pissed off as the Falkirk support and the unusual good will shown to our team could go right out the window.

Belated Diamonds v Alloa
Tory Boy replied to diamondman's topic in Scottish League 1 General Chatter
Does anybody know how the Airdrie fan who fell at half time is getting on? Looked a real sore one. -
Rumour mill seems to be in full flow but I haven’t heard anything about that deal. So far: We're signing a full back from Hearts. Then someone else said the deal doesn't look like happening anymore. Another loanee coming from Celtic. We’d approached Thistle about getting Kyle Turner back but they’re not keen to let him go. Gabby McGill’s injury isn’t as bad as first thought and he is hopeful of being back sooner than we all feared.

Yeah there was a period where we just kept getting Dundee Utd & Raith Rovers.

Montrose v Diamonds - 4 December 2021
Tory Boy replied to diamondman's topic in Scottish League 1 General Chatter
We booked through Trainline, they're not allowing changes. Looks like a day in Montrose on the swally or lose our money. -
Sabatini technically wise was the best player in that team but looked lost. Would drift out of games. He really needed someone with experience in there to guide him through games. I think in this team he would do well. A defence that likes to pass out from the back. Plenty of midfielders to link up with. And leaders in there like McCabe and Agnew to talk him through the game. But this year we're overloaded with players in the middle of the park. Our 2 issues to sort out are: 1 Lack of goals from our forwards. 2 Cover in defence.

Airdrie v Cove
Tory Boy replied to WeAllDreamOfATeamOfAndyRyans's topic in Scottish League 1 General Chatter
We've been playing some great football this season. Absolute joy to watch at times and has most of us pretty optomistic. Unfortunately though, over the last decade or so, whenever we've got our hopes built up they've been crushed in a big game like this. Can we put that to bed? -
Best player you've seen play against your club?

When did Gazza play against Airdrie? -
Was thinking the same. Obviously Easton & Frizzel catch the eye of opposition fans with bits of individual skill. And more recently McInroy has been quality. For me McCabe is our player of the season so far. Consistent performances week in week out, even when asked to play out of position. His range of passng is excellent. We've two Captains but if you didn't know watching us you'd think he was our Captain the way he organises everyone.

The Club started contacting folk the day after the game to see if they had witnessed anything. Our Head of Security, was previously one of the Heads of Strathclyde Police Force. As such you'd like to think they knew what they were doing and the investigation would be as thorough as a Football Club could investigate something like this.

3 - 0 away from home against Falkirk is a great result but if anything we should have probably scored a couple more. Think we're due to give someone a thrashing soon. That midfield is just going to get better and better with more game time. This is the most I've enjoyed watching Airdrie in years. EIO

I don't understand why it's not the police investigating the incident. It should be fairly easy to sort out as well. There were only 100 / 150 Airdrie fans there and pretty much no atmosphere. Most of the support was congregated in the middle of the stand and nobody there seems to have heard anything. Quite a few people witnessed one fan having a go at Quitongo for not getting tight to his man but no racist language was used. So that leaves a handful of fans down the front. Once you rule out the women with the kids you're down to about 10 to 15 fans it could be. There is CCTV footage, plus photographer match pics and game footage. It should be easy for any witness or witnesses to point out from pictures who they believe done it. Also tickets were bought online so you have a list of who paid in. Any police investigation should take no time at all.

I think (hope) it's just a case of just trying to grind out some results until we get some bodies back. McCabe has done brilliant at centre half but I think we really need him in the middle of the park. Hopefully also get Smith back soon who gives us a bit more width. All things considered, to pick up 7 points out of a possible 9 since the Covid outbreak in our squad is a pretty decent return. Just got to hope we can keep it going against East Fife on Saturday.

Happy to eat my words.
