Queen of the South is one of my favourite away days, I must have drank a lot on the previous trips to never notice how bad our record was down there.

Its not lack of people or finance, the problem is finding a bus company. I've had problems booking buses for a few events. A lot of companies went out of business or downsized during the Pandemic. Most of those that survived have regular contracts. A big factor is Scotrail. With so many lines running replacement bus services at the moment they have booked the spare bus capacity. Eventually some companies are going to expand (or new companies start up) but much like the taxi shortages it's going to take time.

The Northern Irish lads are signing some sort of modern training/scholarship contracts. The paperwork hold up is the with the College/Uni they're going to.

Although they're looked upon as "ones for the future" they'll be with the first team squad. I presume that means they're contracts are for longer than one season.

He never had much to do. Apparently only 7 days. Emergency loan. Rae had an injection on his shoulder but it hadn't cleared up in time. Paperwork still hasn't cleared for the 3 Northern Irish lads so Henderson couldn't play.

I struggled to work out what formation we were playing at times yesterday. Our movement was excellent. First half was like a game of attack vs defence.

The one thing I'd add to that is, injuries. Compared with other Clubs we get so little info. What type of injury, timescales for return....etc. The best chance of finding out what's happening with an injured player is someone bumping into them on match day.

I was told similar a couple of weeks ago but it was 2 players on loan from Rangers. Unfortunately for us though, Turner has had an excellent pre-season and League Cup ties so I think any hope of that deal are dead in the water.

A mate of mine heard Gallagher was out with Covid.

One of the few times I've came away from a game not that bothered about the result. Some of our link up play was excellent. Just a freak result. For Edinburgh City big Fontaine was immense. Made some great last ditch blocks. Their keeper had some good saves as well. We're obviously still a couple of bodies short but if we keep up that level of performance we'll be up there challenging.

If we're not going to be signing anyone before tonights game the Club should really be considering getting a couple of the young lads on amateur contracts so we at least have a few bodies on the bench incase of emerency.

Case is still on going. I know others who have to appear in August. JFK will be settled before this.

Yeah. I wish the Club would come out and explain the whole Gow/Development Team situation. Especially are they eligible for selection for the first team?

He's one of the few players from last season that a lot of their support wanted to keep.

How many Scottish Cup Semi-Finals have Airdrie played? Was just looking up the 1971 Semi against Celtic and seen we'd also played them in the Semi-Finals in 1955 and 1961, which I didn't know. Yeah the 3 of them were part of the Airdrie team that made the Texaco Cup final against Derby County. Beating the likes of Man City and Huddersfield. Also the Scottish Cup Semi Final. Drawing 3-3 with Celtic. Losing the replay 2-0. Wish I was about to have seen that team play.

I see someone saying on the Montrose thread Liam Fontaine won't be signing for them as he is going to another League 1 team. I'd like for us to go for him, Broadfoot or similar to give us a bit of experience in the team.

I've not seen anyone that would really know. Last I'd heard Jackie McNamara had recommended a couple of players for us to look at, McCabe had a couple coming in later this week that he knew, we'd agreed in principle a couple of loan deals and were negotiating with a couple of players the Club felt could fill the place of Easton. But all this was last week so not sure where we're at now. In my opinion probably the better players on the market will be last minute signings, if and when, they can't find better deals further up the pyramid.
