I'm surprised at reports of explicit criticism of players. Less political than I'd expect.

You'd think they'd have thought about this possibility before making their big announcement and hoovering up the good press.

That's interesting. My recollection is that the club had to prise their current guy away from Hamilton? Would've thought that came with a certain price tag. Happy to be corrected.

It's true that not every player will work out, but if you're paying a significant wage to a recruitment expert you'd expect to see a better hit rate than if you weren't. Otherwise why have the role at all?

If you look at it from a certain perspective the five figure investment in the pitch could be seen as equivalent to signing a new player.

It would be fun to try and predict some of the questions. I'm going with: "How does it feel to know you're creating a lasting legacy not just for the club but for the town?" "Are there any plans to commemorate last season's historic second place finish?" "I'd like to nominate the chairman and manager for the club Hall of Fame, what's the process for that?"

The commercial manager role brings in revenue that can be directly attributed and measured. Marketing and digital marketing in particular is seen as fuzzy and if you only look at direct attribution then arguably costs money rather than making it. That's obviously the wrong way to look at it, but not all old dogs can learn new tricks.

What are the chances they'll get all the right names on it though?

They're really struggling with communication, more recently than usual. Can't imagine it's strategic.

You're always going to get a wide spectrum of opinion on an open forum. It's healthy to have a bit of debate sometimes, especially if it allows an insight into perspectives that are different from our own. Far preferable to groupthink, I reckon. There's never going to be unanimity on subjective topics anyway.

Did they ever find anyone for the marketing focused board position that was advertised?

Finding it hard to get too exercised about the stadium announcer.
