  1. Not bad actually.....Anyway i am of into the city centre today to renew my bus pass,as the money for my car still has not arrived. That of course means Capy in Edinburgh city centre on public transport= pub=hing hang tomorrow..

Edit to add report on the thread 08.00 mon am..

Good luck, dude. May the Force be with you... :(

Anyway my rant is about the lack of fucking news on the red top papers today that they have to fill their pages about events that happened weeks ago.

    For example:

    1) Some bird claiming the guy who was baw deep in Jordan last week is into some kinky stuff. I DON'T CARE!!

    2) Jordan and Peter Andre's marriage break-up. I DON'T CARE!!

3)The photo of the room where Michael Jackson died. I DON'T CARE!!! (Plus I think it's shocking that a newspaper thinks that's what I want to read. Whatever happened to some dignity in death FFS!)

    4) Big Brother. Is that still on? In any case, I DON'T CARE!!

    5) Kerry Katona back with the loser husband again. Once more, I DON'T AGAIN!!

I shouldn't complain, but that's what I get for reading the News of the Screws. If I bought the Sunday Times or the Smartarse on Sunday, it would take me a week to read the bloody things. <_<

  2. It's clear from many posts that therte is no love lost between certain posters and Livingston. Of course it's really the former chairmen and their cronies that have caused this ill felling. It's not the majority of Livi fans who have had to suffer the wholescale humiliation over the last few years that you hate, at least I hope not.

I can't really blame you for your dislike (hatred is too strong a word) but I ask that you remember that a lot of the people who have worked very hard to turn this sorry mess around don't deserve any of the abuse that has been banded about. These are people who, devoted to their club, have sought ways to bring about change. It was clear that everything Massone did was wrong, not least failing to pay staff and creditors. These hard working fans have done what any fan in a similair position would have done, protested, held back ticket purchases or actively planned for change. These are all just football fans, just like you.

I ask you in all honesty, what would you have done in their place? The very same.

I can't condone any the horrendous practices that Livi have participated in and never will but just screaming for the demise of the club isn't going to make everything better. It serves no purpose to make extinct senior football in West Lothian. There needs to be local alternatives in this area to the likes of the Old Firm and Hearts and Hibs. It will take years (20/30+) before Livingston can begin to really make an impression on this front. But it can and will happen and it is important for the benefit of the town and for Scottish football in general that Livingsyon FC continues in some form.

Of course lessons must be learnt and I concur with the majority that something like this must never happen again. We will argue for years as to how this might come to bear. An interesting point that I see hasn't yet been mentioned (?) is that the SFL will require a bond from LFC for the upcoming season. Should Livi fail, this bond would be payable to all the Div 1 clubs so that they wouldn't suffer financially. This makes good sense and does indeed show that the SFL can do something correctly.

At the meeting tonight it was clear through the relief that there is a steely intention to make good all the wrongs of previous regimes. It is of course a given that not all creditors will receive what they are due. For many local businesses the harsh reality is that although this is very bad, the removal of senior football from the locale could potentially be even worse. LFC through the games it hosts and the conferences and events that are held at the stadium, contribute quite significantly to the West Lothian area. In these economic times West Lothian does not want to miss this income. Jed Nixon made it abundantly clear that LFC would not spend more than it can generate be it in Division 1 or 3.

Time will tell if we are still here by the end of 09/10 or indeed if promises uttered today will be kept. However the club will move forward, with Trust memebers on the Board of Directors and a determination to finally, do the right thing.

For those out there that are queuing up to drop bombs on us please remember that by us just simply vanishing, nothing is solved. If we can come through this and perform as a socially responsible senior football club, all your criticism and scorn will have been worthwhile. Don't let us burn and die, help us to become the kind of club you want us to be and perhaps, Scottish football can become just a little bit better.

Great post, but there is one still glaringly obvious fact still remains. For all you talk about fixing the mistakes and living within your means, Angelo Massone is still the majority shareholder and is sitting in his hotel suite at the Sheraton with the biggest glass of brandy and a huge cigar with a massive grin on his coupon, because he can get more money for shares he shouldn't have.

What are the plans to right that wrong?

  3. If we had been relegated to the 3rd especially with a heavy point penalty then we would have folded.

But you should have folded today, which is why everyone is up in arms. I don't want to see any team go out of business and I certainly don't want to see fans suffering, but the fact remains Livingston have been so badly managed that the SFL should have revoked their license to play in the league, but didn't.

Massone is still the majority shareholder for a club who are in control by an administrator appointed by the Court of Session, with two "preferred bidders" and the administrator bankrolling them for the next year.

Tell me that's not wrong here because I can only imagine Rankine and McDougall gave the pitches of their lives to achieve what they did today.

Well done to them and it prevents another club following Gretna and Airdrieonians, which is good, but it will now surely allow Massone to try and get more dough for his shares, when he should be run out of town with nothing for allowing a team to die.

Don't get me wrong, I'm pleased for the Livi fans, but if they bleat that relegation and a heavy points penalty would most surely put them out of business, then it will be justice as far as the other members clubs are concerned.

You survived for now, but be thankful that happened. You've escaped the lions, but the bears are on the horizon.

  4. This could be a big one.

I went along to the bank about an hour ago to open a new account. My mother was going to the ASDA, so she told me to go find her when I was finished. I was in the queue and she past the bank and shouted on me, I was just about to be dealt with, so I told her to go on ahead and I'll find her, thinking that by the time it takes me to do what I have to do, she'll have finished and she'll be back up at the bank.

I get to the front and tell the guy I'm looking to open a new account.

Man - Right, no one can see you today I'm afraid.

    Me - That's no problem.

Man - I can make an appointment for you now if you like?

    Me - Yes please.

Man - What days would you be available?

Me - Well, I can't do Saturday, so apart from that I'm fine. Ideally it would be tomorrow.

Man - Right. We actually don't have anything until Tuesday.

Me - Okay, I'll do that then.

So I book an appointment for Tuesday. It's a little inconvenient because I have a gig on Tuesday, but it's not going to interfere with that, so that's fine. Now, I pass "Tim Land" in the Forge. They are showing an England vs Ireland game from god knows when. I hear two sellik fans inside the shop spouting a bit of bigotry. Nothing new there, I hear it all the time down my way, sadly. Then I pass the stereotypical fat, baldy, replica top clad human waste that is the Rangers fan. Now he's walking past giving it all the ****** b*****ds of the day.

I really, really hate the old firm. I hope they meet in the carpark and kick the shite out of each other.

Anyway, I go to ASDA and my mother is nowhere to be found. I try walking down every isle, then walking along the fish bit at the top where I can see down each isle as I pass. She's not there. I continue walking about like an idiot for nearly 15 minutes until I notice a security guard is trying to be subtle (and failing) following me. I make a turn then I see another security guard doing the same thing! I didn't have my mobile on me, so I couldn't phone her, and I didn't even have any money on me either to use a payphone.

I decide enough is enough and I leave. I'll go and find the car and wait there. Oh no I fuckng won't. I couldn't find the bugger no matter how far I looked, so I decided I'd walk it home. Now, it was quite nice when I left the house, if not a bit windy, so I'm only wearing a t-shirt.

No sooner have I left the Forge when it starts pishing down for about 2 minutes, soaking me. The rain stopped pretty sharpish, meaning I walked the rest of the way home absolutely wringing.

All this for a fucking bank account.

Could have been worse. You could have gone for a piss

  5. What a strange decision I have to say and not one I expected, like many of you. But it looks like the league have allowed the club to fight on based on the assurances that Neil Rankine and Gordon McDougall have gave them, not only in terms of funding the season, but working on Massone to get his shares.

They are quite clearly insolvent and while I don't want to see them go, they shouldn't be allowed to continue in their current state.

Maybe the league are trying to save face with Airdrieonians and Gretna both going out of business in recent years, but this decision makes their logic even more baffling.

  6. Livi-lass - was that you giving Massone pelters on the BBC Scottish news last night? I thought the skinny ginger boy was either going to greet or smack Massone.

Dry your eyes - and get behind the trust and hopefully a new better fan-owned-and-run Livingston club can arise from the ashes. ;)

Good point. The infighting has gone on too long among the fans and hopefully there is something in the offing for them. If the club does go today or are relegated, they should work together with a view to bringing them back.

  7. The SFL may be tempted to tip Livi down into the Third Division today, at the same time promoting Airdrie and Cowdenbeath, to give the potential investors every chance of saving the club. I know this would be against their rules but a lot of people are trying to save the club.

As far as the creditors are concerned, they appear to be mainly WLC, Massone and the Inland Revenue so no tears shed there if they lose their dosh. :D:D

You're assuming Massone hands over his shares of course. Unless he does then it's the big goodbye for them, but getting relegated to Division Three is the best case scenario if Massone does the decent thing, as far as I can see.
