  1. Felt old the other night, when I was having a laugh with a girl in the pub I work with. I was carrying glasses into the washer for cleaning, but she couldn't get out of my way so I ended up more or less chasing her down the bar to the washer. I told her it was almost like a scene from Benny Hill. She replied, "Who's Benny Hill?" (I'm 32 in just under three weeks)
  2. I'm sorry, but what do these guys want? For the club to escape the whole sorry mess unscathed? I don't accept that. Nothing against Livingston fans, but they were given the chance to stay alive, which should be a reward (an unlikely one) in itself and any sanctions taken should be taken on the chin. The club, as a body, breached the rules about trading whilst insolvent and have to be punished accordingly. IMO a 15 or 20 point penalty should be applied, with conditions if the financial situation doesn't improve. I would have said relegation, but with three days before the start of the season, it's too late for that. I don't believe it's right that they should start on a level playing field, when you consider other clubs have abided by the rules and cut all kinds of costs, with Clyde leaping to mind in particular. Massone and the years of mismanagement before them got Livingston into the situation they now face and I don't think Rankine and McDougall can claim foul play. It's brilliant they want to help save the club, but why threaten to walk away because the other SFL member clubs may just have the audacity to punish them for breaking the rules? If the new owners want to throw the toys out of the pram on the back of whatever decision is made today, then I fear for the Livi fans again and they will show themselves to be what they really are. More dodgy businessmen that don't give a shit about Livingston FC. And that's the last thing they need again.
  3. Why don't you ask then? I'd play, but no-one bothers with me. I don't know what standard you're expecting, but I'm not so much Kaka, more like just Kak.
  4. Nothing a quick dump can't handle. Take a newspaper or magazine and all your troubles will be alleviated TheDoctor - more than a Timelord
  5. I wasn't. I was pointing out to Kilt that will be the next stage of fatherhood on the back of his daughter developing.
  6. Good luck, dude. May the Force be with you... Anyway my rant is about the lack of fucking news on the red top papers today that they have to fill their pages about events that happened weeks ago. For example: 1) Some bird claiming the guy who was baw deep in Jordan last week is into some kinky stuff. I DON'T CARE!! 2) Jordan and Peter Andre's marriage break-up. I DON'T CARE!! 3)The photo of the room where Michael Jackson died. I DON'T CARE!!! (Plus I think it's shocking that a newspaper thinks that's what I want to read. Whatever happened to some dignity in death FFS!) 4) Big Brother. Is that still on? In any case, I DON'T CARE!! 5) Kerry Katona back with the loser husband again. Once more, I DON'T AGAIN!! I shouldn't complain, but that's what I get for reading the News of the Screws. If I bought the Sunday Times or the Smartarse on Sunday, it would take me a week to read the bloody things.
  7. I've text another half a dozen times now, but still nothing
  8. Could be worse, capy. You could be a Livi fan Oh, hang on...
  9. You appear to be going to great lengths to undo the humbleness, relief and even embarrassment your fellow fans are feeling over what happened yesterday. Take my advice, dude, quit while you're ahead.
  10. Great post, but there is one still glaringly obvious fact still remains. For all you talk about fixing the mistakes and living within your means, Angelo Massone is still the majority shareholder and is sitting in his hotel suite at the Sheraton with the biggest glass of brandy and a huge cigar with a massive grin on his coupon, because he can get more money for shares he shouldn't have. What are the plans to right that wrong?
  11. But you should have folded today, which is why everyone is up in arms. I don't want to see any team go out of business and I certainly don't want to see fans suffering, but the fact remains Livingston have been so badly managed that the SFL should have revoked their license to play in the league, but didn't. Massone is still the majority shareholder for a club who are in control by an administrator appointed by the Court of Session, with two "preferred bidders" and the administrator bankrolling them for the next year. Tell me that's not wrong here because I can only imagine Rankine and McDougall gave the pitches of their lives to achieve what they did today. Well done to them and it prevents another club following Gretna and Airdrieonians, which is good, but it will now surely allow Massone to try and get more dough for his shares, when he should be run out of town with nothing for allowing a team to die. Don't get me wrong, I'm pleased for the Livi fans, but if they bleat that relegation and a heavy points penalty would most surely put them out of business, then it will be justice as far as the other members clubs are concerned. You survived for now, but be thankful that happened. You've escaped the lions, but the bears are on the horizon.
  12. What a strange decision I have to say and not one I expected, like many of you. But it looks like the league have allowed the club to fight on based on the assurances that Neil Rankine and Gordon McDougall have gave them, not only in terms of funding the season, but working on Massone to get his shares. They are quite clearly insolvent and while I don't want to see them go, they shouldn't be allowed to continue in their current state. Maybe the league are trying to save face with Airdrieonians and Gretna both going out of business in recent years, but this decision makes their logic even more baffling.
  13. Good point. The infighting has gone on too long among the fans and hopefully there is something in the offing for them. If the club does go today or are relegated, they should work together with a view to bringing them back.
  14. I've heard from a reliable source it was paid by the offices at Almondvale and that they intended to bill Massone for it. Two chances of them getting that back right now, if true. None and.....er, that's it!
  15. You're assuming Massone hands over his shares of course. Unless he does then it's the big goodbye for them, but getting relegated to Division Three is the best case scenario if Massone does the decent thing, as far as I can see.
  16. As Fred McAulay once said on "Mock The Week": "FUCKIN'......BOOOOOOOO!"
  17. Another year older, but same old canktankerousness (is that even a word?)
