United have the measure of Arbroath and deserved their win - but the score line flatters them.

Losing the 2nd goal gave United the momentum - until then it was a close match.

Overall, another decent performance from Arbroath - confident we will start winning games soon.

As for United, they look sharp, fast and fit - but they had to work for the 3 points.

Good attendance and although Arbroath lost, few teams will get points off United.

Also, these are not the games, that will define our season

First half there was nothing in until a mistake by Norey gifted them a goal. All United were doing was playing balls over the top which we were dealing with and we created chances ourselves. Second half another poor goal to concede straight away quickly followed by another and game over. Wasn't expecting anything tbh.

Bit much blaming Norey, Slater lost it near the halfway line, Hammy caught to far up the pitch, then Norey missed it, a catalogue of errors

Not taking anything away from his goal, and I applauded it at the match, but does anyone know how Ali Adams was allowed on the pitch wearing the wrong squad number? His squad number is 21 and he was wearing number 34 with no name on his back, both a breach of SPFL

they’re is always one, and it appears to be you, behave, ffs

You are allowed to change shirt numbers as long as the referee is told. If the referee wasn’t told then he would receive a yellow card

    Probably what occurred

Can see how the ‘embarrassing’ take might seem to Arbroath fans, but actually glad from a Rovers point of view that he’s a bit angry. Defensively the last two games have been a bit of a joke and think it’s helpful to call that out honestly. Hopefully we get a reaction against the Pars.

Noticed  his GiRUY to someone in the main stand at Gayfield. He’s usually fairly mild mannered so presumed someone behind him had been giving him abuse.

Manager is a shitebag, that is all

    Jack Hamilton good guy

Think you have to remember how many injuries we’ve had and as McIntyre put it we’ve been running on fumes - that shows with what happened today

However from the 5 games I really think we could’ve went on and beat Morton, fancied that to happen and it didn’t - unlucky to get beat by you lads the game before - Beat Inverness in Inverness - last week against Dunfermline was the best I’d seen us in forever and then the madness happened

Then today if anything sums up the team spirit in the group then it is what happened today

    Superb

The cupping of the lugs after he scored is legendary shitebagging

Enduring a really rough day weatherwise here so decided to have a look ahead to the weekend for the game.

Weather forecast for this isn't looking too good at all.

As it stands, it's giving heavy rain and windy with some strong gusts just to put an edge on things. Nothing probably Arbroath aren't used to, but, overall, not conducive to silky soccer.

    This may change nearer Saturday.🤞

Wow never seen this coming, trying to get the match off

Me too although the next 3 games are extremely tough. If we are still in the mix after them I think we may do it - don’t see why not anyway.

Noticed McIntyre make a point about getting defenders in in his interview, with a strong back 4, Gaston and Bird leading the line you’d have to say there’s a decent chance

But these are not the games our season will be defined by, it’s the games against the rest

We've got the incident up on our highlights, should have been a red for Hylton, with the yellow for Bird being deserved.

For all the talk on this thread about how poor we were, and how great Arbroath were we had more than enough chances to merit the draw tbh. The one that hit the post before Comrie blazed over is a howler.

Bit disappointing they didn’t show, Birds first booking, thought he was a bit unfortunate

Away from the drama - I thought Leighton McIntosh was fkn excellent out on the right. He’s really surprised me out there, powerful strong running at a full back and a willingness to take them on.

Also helps that we’ve got Slater and Gold continuously under lapping and getting in to the box as an option and on the right Stewart overlapping. Norey (Lyon) last week not moving from the centre of the park and keeping it ticking over.

A clear identity and what we are trying to do as a team is building up - in my opinion anyway

Am now much more confident of survival

    Chihuahua v Rottweiller

Hylton could be really important for us before he leaves on 26th January - plenty of time to make it up on the park and if he is involved within the squad they’ll have all quashed it and moved on just like everyone else should

They are grown men not bairns and should be able to get on with it no problem

    Absolutely

You would think so, they don't need to end up being best mates,  just a realisation of the fuckwittery and that it benefits them both to just be professional with each other.

    this is correct

Not buying that there are fights in the changing rooms most weeks. Arguments yes. I don't like people booing either but that was totally justified yesterday for Hylton after that meltdown. The main thing will be what happened behind closed doors after the match. If a proper apology and remorse was shown then a fine and back to work. If not see you later. Getting fired up and having some passion doesn't cut it as an excuse for me.

Bird I have some sympathy for as not sure what you are supposed to do in that situation.

Giving Hylton the “Bird”when he was substituted was perfectly acceptable in my book

Absolutely absurd that they just skipped over the entire thing.  I make fun of other clubs when they produce biased rose tinted footage, and its a shame that we are going with the attitude of "nothing to see here".

It’s seems odd not showing it, considering we showed the straight red for ICT player in the challenge cup, but only showed the first bookings on both sending offs in the Airdrie game

  13. 1 hour ago, Specky Ginger said:

    It wasn't even one red.

It was two yellows, it's just that Bird had been booked earlier. He was a handful for the Rovers defence earlier this month, so I'm not going to pretend that I'm gutted he won't be playing at Stark's Park next Saturday.

If it had been a player from each team, it would have been two yellows, the shock factor of it being two players from the same team, has, in my opinion, elevated it
