  1. True but even as a good guy he still has moments of being a b*****d like shagging Ned's bird a while back whilst he was engaged to Rebecca. A legend of the show.
  2. Bit harsh Pheonix, I dont think he "has a long way to go". He reached the US final in September and has beaten all the other top guys, he is ready to win a Major. This defeat is really disappointing but we need to remember that Verdasco is a very dangerous player who when he hits his best form (not often enough) will push any player really hard. The frustrating thing for Murray is that the next Grand Slam in which he could be a real contender is now 8 months away.
  3. Whatabout this comment on the Courier site; Why do ICT persist with this folly? Remember there are 4 teams in Inverness. Citadel are only resting and will be back when the true believers see the time is right. The 'Del forever! Go it alone! Citadel | 11.12.08 - 12:42 pm Thats some rest they are having
  4. If you had read the posts before yours then you would know the answer .
  5. Andrew Watson. He wasnt born in Scotland though and neither was Nigel Quashie so Im thinking Iwelumo was maybe the first Scottish born black player to represent the national team. Hopefully he gets another chance to prove himself, did ok overall except that rather unfortunate sitter . Kevin Harper is obviously another black Scottish player but he never got a full cap.
  6. Yeah he was beaten by a great player tonight but its been an excellent tournament and an excellent year. Hopefully next year he can go one step further.
  7. Not looking too good at this stage, real shame Andy didnt convert one of those break points earlier in the second set.
  8. Brilliant . Now Andy has about 24 hours to try and perfect Stuart's spin shot for tomorrow night.
  9. Murray serving for the second set.... edit - and blows it big time
  10. This might well have been posted already, the wee exchange between Andy and Del Petro the last time they played...action starts about 35 seconds in. Andy should have gone over and cracked him in the jaw . http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=muM-UQc_Tnk
  11. Good call, the thread is threatening to go downhill.
  12. Except the logic that Clach going under means 50 of their former fans start following ICT is seriously flawed . Cheers for info RayBees, I did wonder if it would be down to Clach being less of a power as time went on. Does anybody know if Citadel and Clach were rivals?? Again that would have been a pretty local rivalry.
  13. Ive been wondering what the biggest rivalry was in Inverness back in the pre-merger days. People always seem to talk about Caley - Thistle but going by the honours lists Thistle were the third power in Inverness football with Caley and Clach well out in front. Geographically Caley and Clach would also have been more local than Caley and Thistle, would Caley - Clach not have been a bigger rivalry? Or was it that Clach were poor in the last decade or so before the merger and as such the Caley - Thistle rivarly grew?
  14. I take it you havent read this thread highlander? I very much doubt Clach are "kicking themselves" now. And they dont even get 300 fans at their games anyway.
  15. Folks I wouldnt bother replying to ta elite. Going by his posts on this thread and on the TA forum he is either an alias or just a complete twat.
  16. Must admit I also had a wee chuckle when I read that piece about Citadel in Highland Hundred...a club going out of business due to the exposed position of their ground then when SFL football finally arrives in Sneck 60 odd years later their ground is put in an even more exposed spot nearby . Were there more houses in the Harbour area back in those days?? Hard to see where their support would really have come from the way that area is nowadays. Clach just over the river as well. Citadel would have been my local club...surely time for a Citadel FC Memorial Thread?? Any club nicknamed the Sheeps Bags or whatever it was surely deserves a thread
  17. Indeed, disappointing he has fallen just short after his storming finish to the season but as you say it was a fine achievement to come so close given he was out for a few months (and missed probably the part of the season from which he would have been aiming to get a lot of his points). If he can stay injury free next year he should be well capable of going into the top 10 and consolidating there.
  18. Congratulations AyrshireTon, there's two nippers who will be getting dragged up hills in the the years to come
  19. Me and the old man went up Dumyat before an Alloa game a year or two ago, you can start in Menstrie from where there is a really steep ascent up through a gorge which cuts a load of time off the the walk. The path takes you right up onto the path to the summit. Only took us 2 hours max all round. There is some great walking in the Ochills.
  20. Excellent Another title in the bag and he showed good nerve to come back from a set down and a break to win it. Also remained focused despite failing to convert his first match point and going on to lose that game. Well done Sir
  21. Yeah, the ATP Rankings (traditional way and system used to calculate world number 1 plus seedings for tournaments) and the ATP Race. The Race sees every player start the season with 0 points and at that end of season shows who has the been most succesful player for that season...that wont necessarily be the world number 1 though in the Rankings. You cant have been talking about the Race though because previous years points dont come into that Even in the Race though points are still based on 18 tournaments...the grand slams, 9 atp masters and other 5 best tournaments. Murray is currently 13th in the Rankings and 10th in the Race. But effectively he's 13th in the world. ....and he's just taken the second set 6-4
