  1. One of the problems he might have is he’s a scouser and a dyed in the wool red, with the family history on top. If he does go on to the level we all expect it might be difficult for him to leave Anfield, consequently his success becomes intrinsically linked to that of the club.
  2. Davo just edges it for me but young Owen not too far behind. The closest I have seen at Dens to Beck was Tosh McKinlay - he should have played at a higher level than Celtic but attacking wing backs were not such an important part of the game in those days.
  3. He wouldn’t have had the same career today, very good player though.
  4. For any young player, aiming to excel at either wing back slot seems a good plan. These guys have become so important in the current game.
  5. It’s actually amazed me to see how simple it is to get it mostly right. The other thing Wright did, from my perspective, is use the windows to sign players who are better than the incumbents. We’re only 6th and may not stay there but it’s been a season where I’m looking forward to getting to games. It was getting pretty difficult to get motivated. Whilst we’re having our no doubt brief truce I’d like to apologise for my ‘new father’ jibe earlier in this thread. Defo below the belt and I genuinely regret it.
  6. I’m not sure we’re there yet but this is what Wright did, and I could only admire, along at McDiarmid.
  7. This should be a belter given the time he’s taken…..
  8. The problem is who do you drop? Sylla was magnificent today. If Mulligan could finesse it he could be a sensational RWB.
  9. I’m going to give you a piece of genuine and well intentioned advice. You’re making a James Hunt of yourself, most of us have on occasions been there so I’m not singling you out, but just need to switch off P and B for the night and come back tomorrow when your heads not gone.
  10. I’ll give you my insight, despite getting a bit of a bounce out of Avril’s appointment you look absolutely shite and you look to be heading right back in the mire. I’d like to be more positive but you can’t shine a jobby, as they say. Suck it up as we’ve had to do on many occasions.
  11. He’s the one here playing PnB bingo trying to get bites with his old firm and Dundee United barbs. Infantile and tedious and clearly not taking matters too well.
  12. I was trying to be polite but that’s a first class telting Ludo.
  13. I did say ‘hard luck’ but you’re clearly seething so much you might have missed it.
  14. Hard luck Sainties. The natural order is maintained and you can look back on this season as one when you got within 2 points of the mighty Dee.
  15. I’m certainly not criticising Dodgson, in fact I think he looks decent on the ball. He’s played more at LB through his (short) career so it’s a big ask throwing him at CH, owing to injuries. I don’t think Donnelly has looked that great in his few starts either but they’re both young lads at the start of their careers. Neither starts if both are fit.
  16. That happens, nobody is bothered about that. That’s the forum. Back on the footie. What’s the Sainties injury situ. Have you seen the guy from division 10 yet? If so what like?
  17. I can assure you that nobody chases Boredomguy around the forum. He spends his entire life on other teams forums attempting to wind up their fans. Every player they sign is shite, or they are paying them double what Sainties offered (he knows what every player in Scotland is earning). If you act like that you get what you deserve no matter how much white knighting you give him. With regard to the game, disregarding Sainties recent cup successes, I have the fear. We have been a bit unlucky of late but we are playing some really decent football. We should really cruise this, a straightforward win by 2 goals. However real life doesn’t always work out that way.
