  1. All very quiet. Would have preferred a bit more steel, Boateng would appear to be that option. Mulligan can’t be that fit I’m guessing.
  2. Watching the game back. The penalty is a joke, the ball is blasted off Joe’s arm from 2 feet. The second goal, straight from our throw in. Donnelly, who was very nervous all game, just needs to bring the big lad down, gets in a total fankle, andboom. There is absolutely no way you could play him as centre half in a back 4. He’s just too raw. Can’t bring myself to watch the 3rd.
  3. Again you’ve nailed it. I also thought Sylla (who I really like) was slightly off the pace yesterday. Maybe carrying a wee knock - but he wasn’t quite as effective. I was pretty surprised that he wasn’t replaced by, or given help by Boateng. Luke M can do a wee bit of defending but Tiffoney and in particular Cameron contribute very little defensively when the game turns like yesterday’s did. Anyway I’m not too disappointed. Best season in at least a decade, it’s been a real pleasure attending most weeks, and it’s clear that with a few sensible additions we could be even better next season.
  4. I think the criticism of Big Joe is a bit over the top tbh. Donnelly was easily our worst player today. We were thin on the bench today with Main and Mulligan out. Lamie (although I’m not his greatest fan) starts over Donnelly when fit. More worrying is lack of game time for Astley. Have we paid money for a dud?
  5. I agree the wind was the biggest factor but, although the pitch looked shite I didn’t see 1 incident where it changed the game or bounced oddly.
  6. There’s genuinely fuckall wrong with this pitch. Kettlewell making a total tit of himself prior to the match too.
  7. In future we’re going to have Boredom Guy in a helicopter flying all over Scotland deciding if pitches are playable, apparently the match refs can’t be trusted. Ffs it’s Dundee v Motherwell, not Man City v Liverpool, most of us have seen games played in far worse conditions than this, most recently in our national stadium.
  8. In 2 years time when we have the best stadium in Scotland we’ll have the last laugh. With our revolutionary under soil drying system powered by burning folk in the new Cremmy we’ll be the dogs bollocks.
  9. I should apologies, a tad harsh. I couldn’t be arsed reading it all either if I were you. Just DM Wanks R Us or Boredom w**k if you need info, they are experts in this area.
  10. It’s defo part of the problem. Anyway barring something totally unexpected the match is going ahead, nothing to see here, jog on. Massive game, a victory for us, which I expect and Hibs need 100% out of their remaining 2 games or we’re top 6 regardless of the Aberdeen and Rangers results. Great effort by the team as the Sainties battle to stave off relegation (playing absolute dog shite) and the DABS struggle to get out of 1 of the worst championships in living memory (playing absolute dog shite).
  11. Not that it helps but to me the bigger problem is the low wage economy rather than the price of the fitba. Nobody working a 40 hour week should be on the breadline.
  12. Defo, you’ll be missed when you’re away JD, hurry back.
  13. Watching Sportscene. Neil McCann introduced as a ‘former Hearts and Rangers player’ whereas Faddy is a ‘former Everton, Motherwell and St Johnstone player’. Go figure.
  14. I really like Carson but probably McCracken.
  15. Great result for us when a draw would probably have been a more fair reflection. Saints did a great job of snuffing out McCowan and on one of the few occasions he got in the clear he sets up the winner. Great player, great lad all round. Fantastic atmosphere in the away end and you could see at full time how much it meant to the fans, team and the Doc.
  16. Massively against my better judgement I’m going today. Sainties 1 (94 minutes) Dundee 0
  17. Thank you. As I said I hadn’t read the thread, or indeed much of the whole Tartan Army ramblings. It was actually my dad’s idea, he’s 90! He played at a very high level, and knows more about the game than anyone I’ve ever met We clash constantly about most things (he’s a Conservative voter) but he’s very insightful about footie. Now you know!
  18. I think that’s a bit of a keyboard warrior response to be honest. No need to be quite so aggressive. We’ve no decent strikers, we’ve a surfeit of really good midfielders. It was a discussion point. To me he is more likely to do a better job up front than at centre half and he’s been played there plenty of times. Especially against superior teams when we need to be solid he could certainly play as the most advanced midfielder.
