  1. Classic wee tricky winger. A great player for us, before leaving to play for Celtic. Think he's the only Ayr player in the modern era to play for Scotland. Just the one cap right enough.
  2. Worst performance by an Ayr team since the Mark Roberts managerial fiasco. Falkirk by far the better team in every way. Faster, more skilful, looked fitter and seemed to know what they were doing. The only surprise was we managed to keep it to one. The only criticism of Falkirk I could make was that they could have done better in the final third. Only 7 shots with 3 on target. Still far superior to our 3 with 1 on target. I think that's about 12 shots on target in total over our last 6 games. How Bullen's going to turn this round I haven't a clue. Hope he has.
  3. See the crowd was 614. He's fairly moved down in the world. Aldershot didn't even have a reserve goalie. So McGuire popped it past their centre forward.
  4. York are a shambles at the moment. 2 points from 4 games. Despite that, Dipo's had 2 goals and 2 assists, so doing OK.
  5. Purdie was of Ruddyesque levels of uselessness. Just checked Ruddy’s “career” and he seems to have only made 27 first team appearances in his 9 years as a senior. 11 of them for us unfortunately. "Going down in instalments" was a speciality of his, usually once the ball was already past him.
  6. Try their fans' forum. They know zilch about Scottish football but seem to think Ayr's level is about tier 8 of the "worlds best football pyramid". They're questioning if they should even be considering players from such a lowly level. The superiority complex is quite stunning. And this from a team who barely avoided the relegation spots in League 2. They probably think this is the 4th best league in Europe.
  7. Harder choice for us wrinklies as the choice is so much wider. Top 5 : Peter Price, Ian McAllister, John Murphy, Steve Nicol, Michael Moffat List of honorable mentions is a bit lengthy. Sam McMillan, Cutty Young, John Murphy, Johnny Doyle, Henry Templeton, David Craig, Ryan Stevenson, Jamie Adams, Lawrence Shankland, Dipo Akinyemi.
  8. That Pendlebury goal v Wrexham. Could be an asset at free kicks near the box. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=txYIsE2U40w 50 secs in.
  9. Don’t know if this has already been answered. Is this drought going to affect the re-seeding of the pitch. That would need copious amounts of water you would think. No hosepipe bans yet but could be imminent, to coin a phrase. Can companies apply for special dispensations?
  10. These ludicrous hand ball decisions are killing the game. Correct by the present rules but rules are mad. Man. U (who I want to win) back in the game, but totally undeserved.
  11. True as far as winning the league is concerned. We can’t catch Dundee. I think, even if we beat Raith, there are still so many possibilities on the last day, we could finish anywhere from 6th to 2nd. Admittedly, 2nd would be a miracle.
  12. ICT scraping together the results that will probably see them into the top 4. Last two games are home to Dundee then us. Probably win them as well. 5th place beckons. Even winning our next two games we could still finish 6th, as Morton's three remaining games all look eminently winnable.
  13. Two for McKenzie in that game, one a 20 yard stonker. Thought he'd finally turned into striker. Charlie Adam lost the plot after the game. Criticised our style of play which had very successfully picked them apart. As if we had no right to beat a massive club like Dundee. Some of there fans seem to share that view today.
  14. Was that 5-2 at Cowdenbeath the must win game we lost a goal in 10 seconds?
  15. ICT have long had a reputation as a bunch of hammer throwers. But Dodds has taken them to a stage beyond good, honest thuggery. He has schooled them in the darker arts, such has how to dive convincingly (number of rolls optional), preferably clutching your head to ensure the ref has to stop the game. . Useful if a team appears to be making a quick break. Add in a bucket load of in your face verbal aggression, particularly aimed at refs. Handy if you want an opponent to be yellow or even red carded. So, what with thuggery, play acting, verbal harassment of refs and opponents, a veritable smorgasborg of all the worst elements of football.
  16. Not totally sure, but I think O’Connor will miss Morton away in league and Falkirk away in cup. Both games could have a considerable financial impact on our season. A bad day all round, bit it is ICT we’re talking about here. We always find a way to lose to them, specially at Somerset. That Kelly goal in Jan 20 was like an oasis in a desert of home results against them.
  17. Thought he would be a danger today. He's scored 15 in the league and 7 in the cup. Not sure why he's never moved to a higher level.
  18. Into the next round of the cup AND 3 points. A good night's work.
  19. Dipo scores in 68min. Amazing he can even score when he's off the pitch.
  20. Maybe Chalmers has convinced Mellon and McAlear that this would be the ideal club for him. Told him how well all our young players are looked after by the club.
  21. Tbf, Beerschot were a total shambles in the top league that season. Utterly out of their depth. W4, D4, L24. Almost Brechinesque.
  22. As I already alluded to previously, Little gave the ref a decision to make. He put his hands on JLM's back. Only he and JLM know how much force he applied. Since JLM fell over the ref made the assumption he was actually pushed. Any forward is going to fall over if he feels a hand on his back in these circumstances. If it had been at the other end I suspect you would have been demanding a pen. Unlike offside, penalties are a matter of informed opinion. Other refs might not have given it, or even Napier on another day. At the end of the day it was stupidity on Little's behalf. In the second half he rounded off a perfect day for himself by heading into his own net.
