  1. Assume so but an outside chance it might be 4-5-1 similar to the end of the Dundee game. Either way hope we get a lot more from (C.)Smith today.
  2. Clear from the start the girls margins were much much bigger than the boys and it was going to take a selling disaster or massive refund for them to lose. Probably the first time I've watched in a long time that I actually thought a team did really well. Agreed right one went but wasn't a great PM either. Boys looking a bit useless again this year.
  3. Fair play to Levein once the double sub happened County had a lot less control. Must have spend the last 5-6 minutes there without County getting getting out their half. Amazing the difference not allowing opposition sides to camp on the halfway knowing we can't play behind makes Still a lot of work to do but easier to do from a point of safety.
  4. Need to change this. Seems a matter of time till country score
  5. Been an open game - maybe down to our line up - but entertaining. Lovely to finally have some pace in our side. Two bits of quality the difference; the finish from Kimpioka and a great bit of goalkeeping from mitov to stop a tap in.
  6. Only one midfielder on the bench too - and 5 strikers. Can assume Phillips and Smith are injured and that Levein really, really doesn't rate Sprangler.
  7. My main memory of Marshall is him throwing a temper tantrum because he didn't get on as a late sub in one of his early (non)appearances.
  8. As bad as Robinson was, he wasn't half left out to dry that last 20 minutes or so. Not usually one to boo off but deserved it today. Some guys out there nowhere good enough to be at this level. A total lack of ambition to win the game too. Garbage.
  9. They got to him. Happy clapper by the end of the week
  10. Sometimes with "cup shocks" it's a case of team defending in numbers and getting their break. Undoubtedly not the case here with Airdrie much, much the better side. Didn't like the starting midfield and thought max for sprangler was the switch at half time. Change of shape really didn't work. Gallacher was brutal - totally hid - and already our manager seems to have developed a total blind spot with Max. There is so much dross in this squad it is unreal.
  11. Said the same in the game thread. Frustrating as getting Careys best performances for us of recent.
  12. Missing Phillips and I really don't get why sprangler isn't playing in his place. Really struggling to maintain any control. Not keen on Carey being deeper and seem determined to play ourselves into trouble.
  13. And more than that for international subscribers. 1 months DTV subscription for, er, international fans means you can watch it. 20 notes though.
  14. A fair few digs from saints here even getting one in about the paper tickets. https://www.perthstjohnstonefc.co.uk/news/article/saints-ceo-comments-on-todays-postponement
  15. Queuing to pick up a paper ticket, that I've already paid for, for a game that's likely not on.
  16. Ssshhh. No ones to know. Gallacher on at LM is interesting. At least, we've kept shape and somewhat competitive; beginning to tire now though. Frustrating that didn't look threatened until that 5 minute period. At least we've rested some players.
  17. I was chatting about this at half time today but that strength in centre midfield is the reason I've felt we'd be fine this season. It's means we are always able to compete (and even under MacLean we were mainly competitive) in a way we couldn't with midfields of Butterfield, MacPherson etc. Best we've played this season. Thought the approach was perfect; no room behind for Youen or Boyle but pressure on the ball at the right times. Great shifts from Max, Carey and Smith without the ball and thought Phillips was excellent and is beginning to show a lot more maturity. Obviously still lacking in the last third but that can be addressed in January. Gallacher and Max are improving with their game time and hope Fran gets a chance now to do the same. The sending off looked harsh at first glance so wasn't surprised to see it over turned.
  18. Fair point hes not much older than olufunwa and I obviously hope he does. He's looked miles off it though which is disappointing as on paper he looked like one of the better signings in the summer.
  19. The one thing you'd definitely have to give to MacLean is the best window in a couple of years. With the exception of Jephcott, all of the permanent signings have impressed or are still young enough to come good. The search started late, and MacLean admitted we ended up with more loans than he wanted, but I hope the general approach is continued.
  20. Suspect DJ wide and it will be similar shape to Wednesday. Better balance to it though and puts Smith back centrally where he's at his best.
  21. RWB and up front still feel like "least worst" options currently. I'd probably rather see Costelloe or Jaiyesimi over Brown and then sacrifice May for Sprangler out of your line up and be more comfortable with a more attacking RWB option. Speaks volumes that we've not scored away all season and even the banter page isn't calling for the likes of Jephcott etc. We've still a big squad but feels like we're actually running with 16-18 given how much deadwood is being carried. Reckon we'll be fine as long as we don't have an injury crisis mainly due to the quality we have in our first 11 particularly in the middle of the park.
