  1. But will Bannigan not be a higher wage, would have expected him understandably given the length of time here. While I can fully understand a 1 year contract, given he may not be able to play full 90 minutes as much now, has had his share of injuries I would have thought better to offer 1 year and then review in a years time to consider an extension then. unless he’s agreed to a pay loss wouldn’t think it’s a particularly cheap signing
  2. We will of course get new players in but unfortunately I think you are being optimistic that we will see any this week.
  3. He doesn’t say anything about new faces coming in - more that a couple of the out of contract players will sign new deals- I’m guessing Bannigan. But they are not new faces. A bit of a lift? Are any signings going to be as good as the 4 that left. Who knows but it will be a big ask
  4. I see McDonald was released. Was he the captain? Was he a player quite highly rated at Airdrie?
  5. It’s certainly different mate. Tribute to blockbusters mate?
  6. I think Spartans and Falkirk will be at Firhill while Peterhead and Dundee United will be away
  7. Congratulations Airdrieonians No idea yet whether we will be playing you in the championship next season or not
  8. You know the SPFL keeps half the gate of all playoffs receipts in all the divisions? bit of a pain but they use it to fund the parachute payments
  9. There was well over 4000 at yesterday’s game that’s a brilliant attendance for any club outwith the premier league. I don’t know how many away supporters were there
  10. Don’t know about that but losing 6 games in a row and then being beaten by the divisions 2 bottom teams who had conceded something like 19 goals in their 3 games before us, while our players looking decidedly unfit compared to theirs probably wasn’t exactly encouraging either
  11. I tried to defend McCall but not I’m thinking he was a lazy chancer who basically cost us any chance of winning the league.
  12. We dont get anything from bbc Scotland for showing these playoffs on the tv. The money is split between the 42 clubs
  13. Details about purchasing tickets for the match, £30 hospitality now available here https://ptfc.co.uk/ptfc-fixture/partick-thistle-v-queens-park-9th-may-2023/
  14. I’m surprised if Morton can afford higher wages than ourselves
  15. There is an experienced head in the coaching team - Paul McDonald the current temporary assistant manager. Who’s not to say he will be kept on as assistant manager if Doolan gets the gig full time and they would look at appointing someone else as Head of Thistle Weir
  16. To be fair every club is feeling the pinch now not just Falkirk. Fans can’t afford to go to games as much with the cost of living crisis etc Did Falkirk not sign a few players in January anyway? So probably not in too bad a position. We couldn’t afford any. Also probably get a few hundred thousand for Falkirk following your runs in the league cup and still in Scottish cup
  17. Thought Brownlie was on the bench? Sadly think he’s regressed a bit with injuries- doesn’t seem quite the player he was
  18. Well done Falkirk. Really comprehensive victory last night. McGlynn been quietly assembling a really good team and players well motivated. Outclassed and outplayed Darvel who were made to look very ordinary. Though I have to wonder how bad Aberdeen were to be beaten. With Jags out will be rooting for Falkirk. Good luck Bairns
  19. I don’t think taking McKinnon has been the sole reason of Falkirks problems- they seem to have at one point a very incompetent board, other poor appointments as managers and a completely pointless director of football in Holt who seemed to take the club backwards. McKinnon really is probably only a small part in the last few years disaster for them, although a part nonetheless
  20. Surely he would have been sacked alone and not the 2 assistants if that was the case though
