  1. Dundee's other game is against Hertz. Hibs, whose recent form is worse than ours, other game is against the Green cheeks. Even one draw out of our two games should be enough to keep us in the Top6 for at least this period - there's gloomy and then there's gloomy.
  2. Two big games coming up Hibs (a) then Dundee (h) that are going to have a massive influence on whether we make the Top6 two seasons running.
  3. Who's gonna tell Nigel this?
  4. Looking at the tables it's interesting to see that most of the bottom 2/3 clubs in each division have already changed managers this season, the notable exceptions being two of @Skyline Drifters Untouchables - Annan/Peter Murphy & Livingston/David Martindale.
  5. Remember the 90s when it was the other way round and Well pinched Billy Davies, Paul Lambert & Brian Martin - the music was better too.
  6. That's not unique to Motherwell though, I'm sure every Saints manager says the same at least once per transfer window.
  7. My favourite is an etc. After the penalty shootout against Dundee Utd. a few seasons ago I liberated part of the penalty spot which is now in my back garden near one of the drying poles.
  8. You get to a stage in these sorta Test matches where the tension just grows and the first 2½ where India were on top just seems to extrapolate this and I agree there is nothing else in sport that quite matches it. Below is the cricinfo summary at Teatime on Day 3 where they are predicting a win for India - anyone backing England at this stage would've made a pretty penny. Thought we'd get one more over, but nope, that is tea. It's been a compelling session, one in which India have tightened their grip on this contest with a succession of wonderballs. Jadeja's two-card trick to Bairstow and Ashwin's humdinger to Stokes were the killer blows, but Ollie Pope has been excellent. And as for Jasprit Bumrah, he is just a masterful seam bowler who transcends all conditions. India will win this Test, surely, but England have had their moments in adversity. Hemant will be back shortly.
  9. It doesn't look like that transfers 's gonna happen now, a pity for us the transfer deal to Bolton fell through in the summer. I take no interest in international football but if I did I'd have realized there was a strong possibility this would happen and that we'd only have one transfer window to cash in on him. A pity all round because Baccus has been one of the more interesting surnames to have to played for us but it looks like he'll be leaving for free to deliver ecstasy and frenzied states elsewhere.
  10. England's win just shows that no matter how much Test Match cricket changes on the surface the old rules still apply and chasing 200-250 on a Fourth Innings pitch is never a gimme!
  11. The top story on Saints page that morning was about the possibility of Gallagher Lennon playing for Dumbarton against Rangers so they also got Neil Lennon & Celtic into the story - bliss!
  12. Not what I would call "nominal" but congrats, I'm sure it will help you in the Championship next season. Martindale deserves Manager of the Month for pulling off that deal!
  13. Apparently Martindale has said the fee will be "nominal" - for a guy who's just turned 28, is out of contract at the end of the season and has yet to score a league goal this season I'd say even that's too much.
  14. That was in the daze of cash turnstyles.
  15. Corporate criminals have nothing to fear from this government.
  16. Noticed Kwon got MotM by a margin - deserved?
  17. Yeah it kept the name but it's a more of a modern Deli with a different shopfront - I read an article in the Evening Times when the shop re-opened post pandemic IIRC it stated another two shops had kept their name when the business folded, there were more than 30 shops in the Glasgow area in the 90s.
  18. Fairy Nuff @HibeeJibee so on those polls (3 in 6 years) the total Unionist vote is currently holding steady with the DUP attracting votes from the more hardline Unionist parties. ****************** I note that in the current negotiations about a return to Stormont the DUP are focussed on the big issues my suggestion would be to call it the Union Jack Lane!
  19. There is a Public Sector in NI strike today partly down to the Stormont impasse, surely a continued non co-operation stance from the DUP will further erode their support amongst all but the hardliners.
  20. I'm not so sure, I'd expect (and hope) Trump's Marmite brand of politics will bring out the people to vote against him even without a charismatic Democrat candidate. I'm also not sure whether a Trump-lite candidate would work for the Republicans as for me the main reason people voted for Trump in 16 & 20 is that he was not lite.
  21. Love to see him back but I wouldn't want us to go beyond a season and a half.
