  1. Obvs at the weekend I was most focussed on the cricket and the chaos that Bazball is wreaking on the current England side so I only checked Saints scores at H/T & F/T before reading the match report. What I meant by saying I wasn't disheartened by the result is that we were competitive, probably the better team, and would've been the more likely team to win if we'd scored the pen. Outside of the OF games (and not all of them) the only game we haven't been competitive is the 4-0 away to Dundee.
  2. Well, when I woke up early and decided to tune in to the Test I never expected it to finish today!
  3. England 28/4 Gonna take a lot to drag this game away from India... ****************** Poor Foakes - after 98 overs behind the wicket in extreme heat he'd have wanted a lot longer before having to go back out to bat. FFS - Barely finished typing before Stokes gets out. 7 now and England still need 15 runs to avoid making it into the Test cricket's Top 5 biggest defeats.
  4. Prob'ly in a minority of one but I was actually heartened to see we missed a penalty yesterday as it meant we could well have had a draw. Anyway disappointing as yesterday's result was it was an indication of how tight this division is, I'm sure there'll be a few more twists and turns between now and the end of the third series of games.
  5. India currently 367 ahead and will certainly require England to make a record breaking Fourth Innings total to win - how does Bazball affect the timing of India's declaration? ****************** Indian offspinner R. Ashwin is back and will be available to bowl for India in England's Second Innings. ****************** India declare 556 ahead
  6. Was a time a First Innings total of 445 would have pretty much seen a team unbeatable but with Bazball it's kinda 50/50.
  7. Yup, the stats were crazy! Shots Home42 Away5 Shots on Target Home23 Away1 Corners Home20 Away3
  8. Death is no longer the handicap it once was for DJs.
  9. A bit unfair, I live in Ayr these days and while their is much staunchness in the town, the Ayr Utd. fans I know dislike the cheeks as much as us.
  10. You lot must be glad Imrie does not seem to be getting mentioned for the RC job, especially as he went through Adam's recent tenure unbeaten (over 90 mins anyway).
  11. Doug Imrie must've went through Adam's tenure undefeated at Morton.
  12. It will be when the eventual outcome is less bad than the scare stories.
  13. The vote on bringing forward the rise in SP age to 68 by 7 years is already scheduled.
  14. That is just tracking the rise of the State Pension age to 67 by 2028, maintaining the 10 year gap - I'd imagine they'll continue to rise in tandem.
  15. That is the current government proposal which was due to be voted on last year but it's been put back to 2025, after the next GE probably because the Tories reckon the poison chalice will then be Labours, not quite as alarming as yesterday's headlines so no doubt when the proposed SP age is only 69 by 2050 it'll be announced as a triumph (shades of 1984 and the increase in choco rations - doubleplusgood).
  16. Much of the media focussing on the likelihood of a rise in the State Pension age, I'll include one article to give a flavour of what's being proposed. Brits warned they will have to work until they're 71 - millions to be impacted - Mirror Online
  17. Crazy name, Crazy woman just sacked by Auntie Beeb for being anti-Semitic. Here are a few quotes After initial backlash, she responded to the comments saying: "come at me... my shoulders are broad." - if you were to get involved in a bar-room brawl you'd want her on your side!
  18. Before STs became popular attendances in the last quarter were often poor especially for teams on a poor run, their fans just didn't turn up - nowadays these guys turn up and vent their frustration.
