  1. I think this is correct - but unfortunately France apparently needs one per person and we're driving through there first - great fun.
  2. I got it from here: https://www.tuvsud.com/de-de/branchen/mobilitaet-und-automotive/feinstaubplaketten/bestellung-feinstaubplakette-england The thing you're after is called an "umweltplakette" and you need a photo/scan of your V5 amongst other things - but it wasn't too bad. I think it cost me 17 Euro all in (I think there are a bunch of commercial services that do it for double that).
  3. Had genuinely forgotten about that utter nightmare of a game until @Handsome_Devil mentioned it TBH. Is that the only one?
  4. Great result for the Staggies today - you absolutely love to see it - but it has next to no bearing on the league we're in next season. We've (very likely) got 2 home games left against Saintees and Livi (who I think have never won at Fir Park in their history) which will surely yield some points and we've got a decent record at taking points at all the away venues. If we can't make a 7 point gap count (+20 odd goal difference advantage) over County with the fixtures we've got left - then we should shut up shop.
  5. Horrible game to watch in the main as the wind ruined it. Hibs the better team I thought - Kelly had a lot more to do than Marshall (and today Kelly was excellent in difficult conditions) - but we're some team for a comeback. I actually thought the cavalry charge subs that Kettlewell made (which to be fair usually has a positive effect when we're chasing) kind of made us worse and it wasn't until the last couple of minutes that we really threatened. Even with Miller back in the team - it's clear that being down to the bare bones in midfield has really hurt us during the 2nd half of the season. Top 6 was always an outside bet given the low position we came from and the size of the leads we had to overturn - and Dundee have honestly deserved it as they've had a better season than Hibs or us - so I'm glad they got their point which means I won't be reliving Shaw's sitter in my nightmares for the next fortnight.
  6. One of the shite things about being where we are in the food chain now is that when you hit a situation where a player is settled and #lovinglife, playing as well as he has in his career, supporters favourite, etc - it is an utter inevitability that he'll be leaving soon. Theo's agent has probably gone from "I hope I can find him a full time club" to "I'm going to make some money here - yaaas!" in the space of a year and will obviously be seeing what offers might be out there as we speak.
  7. That's dependant on your car's headlights. Mine has LED headlights that have a flat beam, so need for deflectors (it even says it in the manual) - if you have older headlight types, you need them.
  8. Just reading through this. I'm driving to Stuttgart for the Hungary game in the van (via the Channel Tunnel and Frieburg for a couple of days) - and one thing I saw is that a lot of German cities have Low Emission Zones and require you to have a green windscreen sticker to show that your car is Euro4 or better. We're staying at campsites in Freiburg and Stuttgart that mean I need to drive in the city centre, so I sent off for the sticker and got it back in about 8 days, although I imagine there might be a rush for these things nearer the time as lots of mainland europe folk will drive compared to the UK. You can basically get the sticker from any cities' issuing authority and it "works" everywhere (I used Stuttgart's). There are other rules about carrying dayglo vests, warning triangles and first aid kits but I've got no clue if this is enforced much. Also - Germany's border with France and a bunch of other places will have controls, so I assume that might cause delays.
  9. Agent Burrows to have the Dons on double bonus money for this one...
  10. I think if we jump at every poorly chosen word from sportswriters, we're in for a long few months. The reality is that the deal isn't at a point where is it ready to be presented to shareholders and the WS, so at worst, this is a leak/rumour from current discussions - at best it's just poorly phrased when lifting from the BBC interview. The netflix guy is at perfect liberty to propose to take the majority stake and lay out why that's a good thing and in our long term interests - but the WS (and private shareholders) are equally at liberty to say "thanks but no thanks" - so I'm not really seeing any reason to go off the deep end at this point. Lastly - if simple profit/return on investment was the guy's main motive - he'd likely be nowhere near us.
  11. The first hurdle is that he's got an actual easily referenceable track record in business that doesn't seem to involve shady holding companies or the word "crypto" and (depending on your view of the US) he doesn't appear to be part of an oppressive regime. Secondly, he's happy to go on the record at this stage, say the right PR stuff and superficially address the obvious concerns many of us have about any potential investment. Both of these are the easy parts - I think there is a long way to go before we know if this really makes sense - and if the money on offer is worth the conditions that it will come with... Good start though...
  12. What was the reasoning that they gave Sportscene for not sharing the shot with the lines drawn? Was not along the lines of "it's so obvious, we don't need to"? (if you can believe what Steven Thompson said). Kind of a different story with the official statement. VAR has a credibility issue with the clubs as well as the supporters now - some feedback from die-hards during season ticket campaigns certainly can't hurt.
  13. Thought it was interesting that the club put this up: Mind how soul destroyingly bad it was watching empty stadium fitba on a wonky stream? On the upside, Chris Long smiled in this one.
  14. It's a bit of shame that things might not be decided on the pitch on Saturday with Dundee's game in hand but this should still be a good one. It's interesting (to me) that the three teams that have a chance of getting the last top 6 place are all decent going forward, score a lot of goals but are all *fucking horrendous* at stopping the other team doing the same. Maybe that's what makes you a mid table team.. This fixture (and the reverse) is probably the most underrated one in the league as it must be one of the highest scoring (and generally entertaining) games out there - so I'm not expecting a 1-0 here. From our perspective, we probably just need to forget about keeping it tight, concede our early goal from a corner, then let Big Theo ragdoll Hibs centre halfs for the rest of the game and hope it is enough. It's nice to be in with a shout of Top 6 - so I'll optimistically go for a 3-2 to the plucky underdogs from ML1.
  15. If you want to take the temperature of Rangurs Man - a Keith Jackson column is the ideal place to do it - things aren't going well: It's hard not to imagine this stuff being typed up in ALL CAPS, scratched into his desk with a screwdriver or slurred at a bored barmaid in a deserted boozer at 11:45pm last night.
  16. One of the weirdest bits of half time entertainment since they had an injured Colin O'Neil going round the pitch on a speedway bike. My memory has it that he shouted "'Mon the Celts!" at the end of it (Tommy, not Psycho for obvious reasons). As you point out, there is no next level for us - we tried that and it didn't end brilliantly. Our next level is "have a similar budget to the teams that we think are the same size as us" which doesn't feel outrageous and would be fixable with some outside cash under the right terms. It honestly feels like a lot of of people are losing the plot with all this investment & 'Well Society stuff - within ourselves, we're financially stable with money in the bank and are only carrying the 20 year Govt. soft loan as debt - which would be one of our better positions over the past 50 years (the time of the McLean-McLeish handover was probably the last time we could say anything like this). The idea that we need to rip everything up, or invite Michael Gove onto the Society board seems at odds with the fact that we are heading for a comfortable mid-table finish with our current budget while (if the AGM chat was to be believed) operating at break-even for the year.
  17. The 2014/15 playoff final. There was a Rangers statement at the end of that one as well. wee pattern emerging here.
  18. It's actually impressive that even when they have the moral high ground for the one and only time - one glance at their statement and you still want whatever judgement to go against them.
  19. Dundee -Rangers being off takes a bit of heat out of Saturday (but also ensures that it remains meaningful for us). Good news is that the Hampden Beaks will want Dundee's pitch so far away from the Top 6/OF that Aberdeen are getting 8 penalties.
  20. Dundee will get massively hammered for this - the outrage feedback loop is building already....
  21. This is funny on quite a few levels. They should ban middle aged folk from social media before they ban kids.
  22. All bought just in case we signed them and got 15 goals out of them between Jan-May With the ridiculous run of strikers over the years, It's got to the point where there must be a Viking burial ground under Fir Park that allows struggling forwards to have one glorious season before retiring with their riches to Valhalla (or a short stint in England before signing for St Mirren as it's otherwise known). This would also helpfully explain why so many ex-players score against us when they come back to Fir Park. Nick Blackman remains my favourite - non-descript loanee, scores every other week, double figures by Xmas - Aberdeen poach him, goals dry up instantly.
