Bair is probably in a different position from our young players who we usually have the stay/go debate about. He's not a teenager - he's in the middle part of his career and any interest this summer may be seen by him (and especially his agent) as an unmissable chance.
I'd love to see him hang about but we all know the "Motherwell player has good season" story by now.

Im going to head up as not been in a few years but £28 a ticket. Mental.
I always go to Dingwall but the tickets have always been more expensive than most - ICT used to do the same. I think the logic is that you've spent a fortune getting there, what's another couple of quid?

Aberdeen being our bogey team is a new thing. Taking points against every team is a rare thing for us I would guess.

Given the glacial speeds that deals can move at - and the fact that anything that is negotiated then needs to go through a cycle of scrutiny by the 'Well Society board and then members - and *then* all the legal formalities and due diligence - I'm not particularly fussed at this point and don't really care about a running commentary on it.
If it does happen, then it's going to be too late to affect our summer recruitment/budget and so at the very earliest, it would have an impact in January 2025 (but most likely the summer after). The club isn't in financial difficulty of any sort, so not losing any sleep on the fact that there hasn't been an update for 5 days.

I'm confused, Mitchell van der Gaag, did score against Dunfermline. Is your point that he didn't hit the dead ball or it wasn't the winning goal?
Someone shifted the ball to him and so it wasn't a direct free kick (I had to rewind it in my head when I first read it )

The Spittal goal against Celtic was the only one on the list that I didn't see live - so maybe that changes my perception - but it is probably my favourite. But due to Hearts PCA's, I'm giving it to Slattery's which due to the way the ball was pinged about, looked amazing from high up in the away end at Tynecastle...
One thing that I hope isn't ripped up in the summer is the attacking side of things - this has been a good goal scoring Motherwell team (that scored good goals).

Elliot scored a rebound after Delomeaux hit the post... remember it well. We were poor that season but a couple of decent players...St J we're rotten and that game in early April or so relegated you with about four to go or something?
The 1994 version was the last Fir Park game with terracing...we were excellent that season but on the beach and while I've long forgotten the details, you probably should have got the second goal you needed.
I'd worry less this time mind, I don't see the top-flight side losing the playoff.
My abiding memory of the 1994 game (apart from the fact that I stood behind the goals as it was the last day of the terracing) - was that someone ran on near the end dressed as Sieb Dykstra, complete with stick-on porn star moustache.

Just saying but Theo Bair can get to absolute f**k if he thinks it's funny to score a winner against us on the final day.
The nicest man in fitba to score a 92nd minute winner in front of the cooper and then an Adebayor in front of the Saintees fans/Eric Nicholson you say? That would brighten up the last day of the season.

it's hardly unpolicable, the do cup finals which are logistically much worse regularly
This is what I don't really get with the post split fixtures revolving round the OF game - what is the difference between an OF Cup Final and an OF League decider? From a policing point of view - a 50/50 split crowd at a final is surely worse than a 90/10 or a 100/0 split in a league game. Arseholes in pubs are going to be the same regardless...

It's been mental looking into all this stuff. My favourites are that France at one point was requiring you to carry a breathalyser kit (but that seems to have gone away) but best of all are the drink driving laws in Belgium. If you are a wee bit over the limit when they test you, they allow you park up for a couple of hours before carrying on with no fine or points - probably to cater for folk that had a Tripel with their lunch

None of us had a high vis, and we were given a €15 fine. From memory you only need one per car, not every passenger!
I think this is correct - but unfortunately France apparently needs one per person and we're driving through there first - great fun.

Thanks, really helpful, I hadn't started the driving research yet. Do you have a link to where you applied? I'm struggling. Also, did you upload documents to support the application?
I got it from here: https://www.tuvsud.com/de-de/branchen/mobilitaet-und-automotive/feinstaubplaketten/bestellung-feinstaubplakette-england
The thing you're after is called an "umweltplakette" and you need a photo/scan of your V5 amongst other things - but it wasn't too bad. I think it cost me 17 Euro all in (I think there are a bunch of commercial services that do it for double that).

I'm happy for you that you've managed to block out the 5-1 defeat where Stevie Woods was standing at the corner flag as one of the goals hit the back of net
Great goal by Khaled Kemas that day right enough.
Edit - didn't notice @Handsome_Devil's identical post!
Had genuinely forgotten about that utter nightmare of a game until @Handsome_Devil mentioned it TBH. Is that the only one?

Great result for the Staggies today - you absolutely love to see it - but it has next to no bearing on the league we're in next season.
We've (very likely) got 2 home games left against Saintees and Livi (who I think have never won at Fir Park in their history) which will surely yield some points and we've got a decent record at taking points at all the away venues. If we can't make a 7 point gap count (+20 odd goal difference advantage) over County with the fixtures we've got left - then we should shut up shop.

Horrible game to watch in the main as the wind ruined it. Hibs the better team I thought - Kelly had a lot more to do than Marshall (and today Kelly was excellent in difficult conditions) - but we're some team for a comeback.
I actually thought the cavalry charge subs that Kettlewell made (which to be fair usually has a positive effect when we're chasing) kind of made us worse and it wasn't until the last couple of minutes that we really threatened. Even with Miller back in the team - it's clear that being down to the bare bones in midfield has really hurt us during the 2nd half of the season.
Top 6 was always an outside bet given the low position we came from and the size of the leads we had to overturn - and Dundee have honestly deserved it as they've had a better season than Hibs or us - so I'm glad they got their point which means I won't be reliving Shaw's sitter in my nightmares for the next fortnight.

One of the shite things about being where we are in the food chain now is that when you hit a situation where a player is settled and #lovinglife, playing as well as he has in his career, supporters favourite, etc - it is an utter inevitability that he'll be leaving soon.
Theo's agent has probably gone from "I hope I can find him a full time club" to "I'm going to make some money here - yaaas!" in the space of a year and will obviously be seeing what offers might be out there as we speak.

I drove in France years ago and you had to put wee stickers on your headlights - does anyone know if this is still a thing?
That's dependant on your car's headlights. Mine has LED headlights that have a flat beam, so need for deflectors (it even says it in the manual) - if you have older headlight types, you need them.

Just reading through this. I'm driving to Stuttgart for the Hungary game in the van (via the Channel Tunnel and Frieburg for a couple of days) - and one thing I saw is that a lot of German cities have Low Emission Zones and require you to have a green windscreen sticker to show that your car is Euro4 or better.
We're staying at campsites in Freiburg and Stuttgart that mean I need to drive in the city centre, so I sent off for the sticker and got it back in about 8 days, although I imagine there might be a rush for these things nearer the time as lots of mainland europe folk will drive compared to the UK. You can basically get the sticker from any cities' issuing authority and it "works" everywhere (I used Stuttgart's).
There are other rules about carrying dayglo vests, warning triangles and first aid kits but I've got no clue if this is enforced much. Also - Germany's border with France and a bunch of other places will have controls, so I assume that might cause delays.

I think if we jump at every poorly chosen word from sportswriters, we're in for a long few months. The reality is that the deal isn't at a point where is it ready to be presented to shareholders and the WS, so at worst, this is a leak/rumour from current discussions - at best it's just poorly phrased when lifting from the BBC interview.
The netflix guy is at perfect liberty to propose to take the majority stake and lay out why that's a good thing and in our long term interests - but the WS (and private shareholders) are equally at liberty to say "thanks but no thanks" - so I'm not really seeing any reason to go off the deep end at this point.
Lastly - if simple profit/return on investment was the guy's main motive - he'd likely be nowhere near us.

The first hurdle is that he's got an actual easily referenceable track record in business that doesn't seem to involve shady holding companies or the word "crypto" and (depending on your view of the US) he doesn't appear to be part of an oppressive regime. Secondly, he's happy to go on the record at this stage, say the right PR stuff and superficially address the obvious concerns many of us have about any potential investment.
Both of these are the easy parts - I think there is a long way to go before we know if this really makes sense - and if the money on offer is worth the conditions that it will come with...
Good start though...

This is probably a failure of media of all stripes in the UK - but there is nothing in Schengen that stops countries controlling their own borders at need. During Covid, it was very common....
