  1. Agreed and many more billy brown John Hay Neil Oliver The old choir had songs for many of them. “All together now Hark the hail the Falkirk sing the Dundee ran away, but we will win for evermore because of big John Hay” or the verses of Away the lads of John Haggert aces
  2. Didn't know that Alex Mcleish was a Falkirk supporter
  3. There is a FFiT (Football Fans in Training) group that play on the main pitch at 7pm and 8pm every Monday night. The aim is to get you off the chair away from the TV for a little exercise with enjoyment. The age range from slow late 30's to mid 60's and above. There can be up to 50 guys each Monday and the games are split to either 6's 7's or 8's depending on numbers. Teams are split games of even ability and fitness, some run, some jog, some fast walk, all welcome. There are spaces available if anyone wishes to give a try. We would like you to do a FFiT course but not nessary if you dont wish too. You just need to be over weight and unfit. Message me if you wish more details or drop down for a look or chat.
  4. A deal was done in the late 70's to rebuild Brockville. It was as you have stated turning the pitch, but also moving slightly to the railway. Cooperage Lane would have become a tunnel under the home end. There used to be an artist picture as you entered the players entrance on the left hand wall. To make it happen we had to buy the house that was behind Watson Street end going into the car park. At that time it was unlivable but not yet a ruin. The story was that the person with the title deeds was living in Australia. There was a lot of unrest within the Directors that the ground should be rebuilt, but a director was sent to get the owners signature. In these days it was 2 days to get there and by the time he got there the Directors coo had happened and a new board put in place with the rebuild cancelled.
  5. What you are forgetting is that Peter Grant played and trained for 3 years on this pitch, no injuries or issues. His career threatening injury actually happened at Livingston and then made worse at Ibrox the following. Both pitches were grass at that time. He was never the same after the game at Ibrox, which on hind sight to never had played in. So Mr Velvet you are a Donkey cousin
  6. Are there any pubs in Falkirk or Larbert showing the game today
  7. that was when we had a proper choir. some of the songs were brilliant.
  8. They are not the same surface. I have played on both and the Rovers surface is sharper blade with medium risk of grazing / cutting. The Falkirk surface has softer blade with no rubber filling. The Falkirk surface it was a Dutch system that at the time only Falkirk and Arsenal (training pitch) layed.
  9. Dont think we will have new manager until after the end of the season. With only just over 2 weeks of the post split games, Holt should only be thinking about 1 thing, the 1st team. After the next for games then he can start if we are not in the play offs.
  10. Yip. and we have a player whom when young wen to the Dunfermline games with his mates and personally it does not matter a bit. He was the navy blue and tries his best and the matters.
  11. Scotland will received 500,000 during January. England have allocated themselves 200,000 a day. Scotland wanted to start using the Oxford vaccine late last week, but only receiving it to support a today start. Dont know other British allocation eg Wales and IoM or the rest of UK North Ireland.
  12. village bawbag in a village full of bawbags Falkirk is free for season ticket holders
  13. This could actually be a tough season. Shorten season so higher requirement to start well 2 teams coming into the league with experience managers, Patrick and Cove. Cove could spending again. Partick will get a compensation payment from the league so have a bit of cash Montrose have been build a team over the past 3 or 4 seasons Airdrie now making a signing that could be a golden or a dud Pressure could be on
  14. This has got to be the best summary of yogi, that I have read. If he had cut out the off the field stuff people would still have good memories, but sadly no.
  15. he called to a Tory, which is the same as myself calling you a twat. Get back to the football chat
  16. Kiddy, You are right. 2 years ago I was in Asia and the BBC World Service was reporting on a new Europe trade deal with Asia. The BBC stated that is was nothing and does not effect anything or any business in the UK, Even a quote from Liam Fox. Then went on to discuss how great the Brexit was doing and how great it was. I switched over to Asia today to get their view. Opposite could be claimed. They went to an in depth report of how this deal would result in car plants being transferring work from UK to Europe, Banks transferring dealings to Europe, Airlines having to have license and offices in Europe. What has happened, Swindon, closed, Vauxhall reducing work load in their plant north London to France. Ford transferring engines to Europe Easy jet moving staff from Luton to Belgium Banks centering deals in Frankfurt, Paris and Brussels rather that London. Part of keep Scotland in Europe, similar to Gilbrater and Isle of Man, but Westminster says it cant work was to have these deals done in Edinburgh so to keep the jobs in the UK . Anyway this board should keep to Falkirk and the football, every so often a poster with a blinkered view keeps bring politics in to it with a daft / wrong statement. Some of them think that the NHS fund raising is great, but the NHS should be funded by Government, but these guys want to reduce the public funding and keep the money going to the few.
  17. Yes you did, your were the first to mention the SNP, although I am not a supporter, I do think their performance on the current situation has been pretty good. so you are not just a twat, but a back tracking lie twat
  18. Dawson Park Boy, this just shows your standards, lower than the floor. To bring politics in to it, with a cheap dig, just shows whom you are. a Twat
