  1. Really shocked to hear of Aiders passing. I was there that day. We all seemed to rise out our seats in slow motion, couldn't quite believe it. We were same division as them but world's apart at the same time. For some reason I recall a great goal he scored in a home defeat or draw maybe v QoS, a right foot curler from the edge of the box. He was two footed and we never knew! Swapping him for Roseburgh, I mean, who on earth thought that was a good idea? Lambie, hero and villain.
  2. And you had to put up the League cup dates because our social media is so incompetent. I suppose we should be grateful they managed to switch on their laptop.
  3. Eh? We were in the same league the season before last.
  4. I wonder if the initial figure was the home support which means we only had 377!
  5. Sorry if it's been covered but I haven't seen the crowd split yet. Airdrie's was mightily impressive for a side that's been in the third tier for so long. I'd guess about 2,400-2,500. I was in the middle of ours but I hoped it was at least 500. Probably not.
  6. Saying we'd probably have gone down anyway is daft, if we'd held on last week we could still have finished 8th. Look at the fixture congestion this last month, the cup just added to it. Plus Shiels has been out ever since the final. He's not great but he was a fixture in the side that took ten points from twelve. With him out, Rankin has played folk out of position because he doesn't trust young McGinn. It also baffles me how we could hold out with ten men for forty minutes in the final but couldn't hold on for four minutes last week. The league game was far more important.
  7. Cove get a backs to the wall point at Dens. What a difference from our lamentable display ( probably still not fit after the over the top celebrations the previous Sunday). They could still finish 8th if we, no laughing at the back, win at Arbroath. We deserve bottom. Hope the cup win was worth it.
  8. Probably down to us being in the Premier (sigh) when he was coming through. Went to Airdrie, got some game time but maybe ask their fans why he left them for Rovers. Seen a few Rovers games this season, he is a stand out and is two footed. Even if Rovers stay up, I fear for them next season without him and probably young Joe Bevan too who has been amazing in recent weeks. Edit: I didn't realise Airdrie was a loan. Signed for Partick which I have absolutely no recollection of, so it didn't work out for him there. Maybe just too young.
  9. As dreadful as Tiehi is and Ashley-Seal doesn't look great either, Haaland would struggle in a team that can't create. Is it nine games since an open play goal? We rely on free kicks, corners and penalties. Our only creative players are probably Zanatta and Lewis, both have been pretty rank all season but surely one of them has to start? And Tumilty has to be right back. Give McGinn a chance at left back, he looked good against Hearts. I think Rankin is clueless.
  10. McTominay, the football equivalent of an angry bulls horn right up the sphincter of those bull running p***ks.
  11. 2014/15 when we won four in a row, drew, then won another three in a row. Best team in the land after the first round of fixtures.
  12. I haven't had time to read much of this thread but I'm hoping the myth that Aberdeen had a perfectly good goal ruled out has been nailed. Horrendous decision clearly but the Darvel No.18 clearly pulls out when he heard the whistle. He would easily have reached the ball. An og would be a possibility of course but far more likely he would have been competent and cleared it for a corner.
  13. "You're wearing that jacket, are you Jack?" " You wouldn't understand dear, it's called style".
  14. I know it's a big stand but there's never 857 in it. I'd say 550 tops, just like the Raith game. The ref and Ryan Fulton saved us.
  15. I want McGowan gone, he is only interested in his own pet projects. However, the way Ronnie tells it, it was McGowan that alerted him to the seriousness of Accies situation back in 2003. OK, he probably had selfish reasons for it, but, playing devil's advocate, maybe we wouldn't have had the fun we've all had since then without him. Dons tin helmet!
  16. Six defeats in a row. Four points from the last thirty nine. Our worst league run since 1988/89 but we were at least a Premier League team then. I can see twelve defeats in a row incoming, looking at the fixtures. Maitland and Co have no ideas, no vision but at least Allan shows up, Ronnie probably in corporate at Ibrox today. A year and a bit from now, I'd bite your hand off for eight place in League One.
  17. Good shot from Scott Martin, excellent back heel volley from One brilliantly saved....and that was it. Lewis Smith a bit better than usual and I'd have kept him on. Winter really poor when he came on. McGinn looks a prospect. Clutching at straws, we're dugmeat. Well done Arbroath, superb result. A part time club that can sign a QPR player. We sign shite like Michael Doyle. They actually played "Help" over the tannoy as we left. So many c***s at this club.
  18. Oh well, we had a good run, beating Dungdee to the title in 2008 which kept you down for many years then relegating you a few years ago. Wouldn't have missed it for the world.
  19. The "someone local" will need to know you can't pay at the gate. Can't be doing with this pish.
  20. Albion Rovers lost to a team just a few places below them in the pyramid, unlike Montrose (and Edinburgh).
  21. I'm sure Buckie was 2-0 but we were Third Division, and went on to win it, while they were technically just one tier below us. Annan 4-1 and last year will take some beating but a home defeat to a LL side would probably top those two. As long as he plays the strongest possible side available to him, unlike Taylor's disgrace last season.
  22. Two of our best players that night, Doyle and Lawson, are out injured. Got the fear for this one.
  23. Given our club's respective histories, I think it's fair to say Dundee are currently toiling far worse than we are.
  24. We've all seen incidents down South where the ball looks in but a tiny sliver is still over-hanging. It may have just been in but get Doolan punted for "a yard over the line"!
