  1. I think we all do. Both clubs (Meadow & ourselves) have been extremely poor. We have no win in our last 10, give away really bad goals and don’t score enough. Thats a recipe for relegation. The run in the Scottish has glossed over poor management. We got lucky in the Bens game (Bens arses fell out of them when we got a goal back and in the last minute of stoppage time Leyden attempt to launch the ball forward lead to a blunder by the keeper) and if Bellshill had been better they would have been out of sight before we scored 2 late goal having done nothing for the previous 80.
  2. Scoreline probably flattered us a wee bit although we did miss a few good chances in the 2nd half. 1st half was dreadful and Beith downed tools when it went 4-0 in the 1st minute of the 2nd half. If the hadn’t it could have been a lot worse for us. 1st division incoming.
  3. I agree but thought Cambuslang had a couple of decent player. McGinty started getting further up the park in the 2nd half getting more influence on the game and as you say in another post scored a good goal. Thought the big striker for Lang was decent, worked hard and gave the 2 Burgh CBs some issues. Burgh deserved to win it and were good value for their 6 goals.
  4. Can’t disagree with that summation. Didn’t think either team did enough to win with neither keeper making and save of note. Wind was bad and that was as cold a game as I can remember.
  5. He might end up getting it but if he has been offered it, it would be strange to advertise the job.
  6. Can’t argue much with what you said Legend. Thought we had a wee spell in the 2nd half that if we had got our noses in front we could have won it. At the end you had those 2 massive chances to win. Still not sure how the boy missed with the last kick of the game.
  7. Coulda, woulda, shoulda kind of night for us. Brilliant 1st half, hit the bar at the start of the 2nd, then a deflected goal got Darvel back into it, goalkeeping error lead to the equaliser and thought it was only a matter of time before Darvel won it. But credit to the players who gave it a go and had some chances to get back in front but we had to hold on at the death as Darvel missed 2 sitters that would have won it. Need to get 3 points rather than 1s to stay up.
  8. The Sunday would have clashed with the Hearts v Rangers and Burgh approached Arthurlie to agree the change of date and KO time.
  9. While I am onboard with your last point there, I do think it is good thing about having the club come from SAFA ranks but for different reasons that are raised on here if you are going to have a cap. I think we need to make sure that any club coming in is sustainable. We have already seen a club in the West become a franchise and move and change their name last season due to the committee deciding they wanted to concentrate on Youth Football. Several of the new entrants still dont have their own grounds and are sharing outwith the town they are from (not going to go on my rant about this again I promise). I am all for having as many clubs come in as possible but I think it would be beneficial for them to show their commitment to having adult football by joining the SAFA and preparing for the WOSFL when a place(s) are available.
  10. At the bottom, it's 2 from 4 to go down (I think Meadow need 7 wins from their last 9 games which is unlikely). Big ask for us and Glens I think who both need to win 5 of our last 11 games when we both have only won 4 out of 19 at this stage. We play 3 of the bottom 5 in our run in and need to win all 3 imo to stand a chance with 6 away and 5 at home remaining.
  11. Another missed opportunity for us today. Scrappy 1st half which we gave away a really poor goal (like last week) while not being outplayed. 2nd half we were better team but couldn’t find a winner.
  12. FWIW the Welsh FA dont own the Millennium Stadium. I do agree that Hampden is poor for watching games, but like all grounds the atmosphere can vary depending on the game.
  13. 100% this. It might also get some of the top SAFA clubs in the WOSFL region to start to think about improving facilities if the have long term ambitions of joining the WOSFL and might encourage some of the so called youth club teams (hate that the are derided by some on here) to join while improving facilities with the aim of being in a position to apply.
  14. I also worked as a steward across all those ground back in the day and been as a fan, and can tell you there are a number of times the atmosphere has been terrible. Most times it is down to the game on the pitch. OF, Edinburgh Derbies, European games etc get an atmosphere for being big games, Rangers/Celtic v Livi (no offence to Livi fans) is normally poor as the expectations are a comfortable victory. Same goes for Scotland games, best atmosphere I have ever experienced was the 2-2 game at Hampden vs England, worst was also at Hampden when I was part of the 12k poor souls who went to the Austria friendly when Morrisons were practically giving tickets away. Can't help but notice you didn't answer my other points!
  15. Isn't that their own problem? If they overspend and don't achieve what they want there will be consequences. Why should fans of other clubs care? In terms of the restructure I dont understand how you can say it has failed? The league has been going for 3 seasons (1 of which was during a global pandemic), what is your definition of success? People are quick to forget that the then Ayrshire clubs in the West Premier made a mess of trying to fix this prior to Kelty leaving. The SJFA attempted to create a West/East 2 tier league with the remainder remaining regional below it. There was an indicative vote taken with the East voting unanimously for it with the Ayrshire clubs (with the exception of 1) voting to reject it with a 7 to 5 majority. Kelty left the year after and the rest is history. Also, people make atmospheres not ground so that is a load of nonsense. I am not a big fan of cages but it can be done right.
  16. Speaking to people I know from St Cadocs after our game last week, they thought they needed 6 points fro the last 2 games to have a chance. Stranger things have happened and you never know if teams above them drop further points.
  17. I tend to agree, the St Cadocs game looks more like an aberration than the norm. Those games you highlight, as well as Largs at home, have cost us massively. Cumnock away, where we were outplayed for most of the game, only to get level and look the more likely to win then throw it away with the last kick of the game. Those games add up to the 12 points we need. Agree on the manager, imo the Scottish run has papered over the cracks of some of the errors. Both Bens and Bellshill should have had us out if they had taken their chances. Players need to have a look at themselves as well with some big name players not playing to their levels and the lack of fight in a Southside Derby.
  18. We survived on 30 points last season (29 would have been safe). Think it will be around 27 this year meaning we need 12 points from 12 games. Given the run in we have I think that is quite a tall order.
  19. Utter dross from us today. Gifted Pollok 3 goals when they weren't really threatening us (they were the better team though) while offering nothing in attack with 1 shot on target over the 90. Manager needs to look at himself for changing how we played from last week to this and the lack of changes, making only 2 changes, 1 was enforced over the 90 while loosing is baffling.
  20. There has always been a back log in fixtures. I remember years where we were playing Monday, Wednesday, Saturday from end of April to beginning of June.
  21. It's a long and convoluted story but here are the highlights (as I recall them) to save time lol. They sold the social club behind the goal and then sold the ground several years later. The looked at a number of sites in Kirkintilloch but ran into a number of issues across all of the sites (including 1 that was on a flood plain and SEPA objected). They had decided that part of the deal with the builders was that KRR would find the replacement and not the builders (similar to Baillieston) and eventually ran out of time when the builders asked them to leave and they had to move to Guys Meadow. The new Astro is something completely different and they are hoping to get to run it after the council built it but there seems to be an ongoing issue in finalising the contract.
  22. He turned out for us in 1 game several years ago and his old man was telling us how he should be playing at a high level. He was let go on the Monday after taking the huff and walking out at training for being asked by the then coach staff to do something he didn't want to do!
  23. Best way I can describe it was the Connor Bradley our left back won the ball deep in our half, beat 3 or 4 players (2 who tried to foul him) before smashing the ball from about 30 yards in off the bar. Even the St Cadocs twitter decribed it as a worldy
  24. No idea where our performance came from today as that is the best we have played all season. 3-0 flattered St Cadocs tbh. Haven't seen 2 better goals than our 2nd and 3rd goals this season at this level.
