  1. I'm not at the game tonight, and I'm absolutely delighted at that. Today is a wake up call for Veldman and his tactics & philosophy. Maybe it's not just him, and it comes down from Beuker also, but it's quite clearly not working and needs changed ASAP. All the pretty passing and possession is lovely, but when you can't fucking defend and can't fucking score it means nothing. Great set up into Dundee United away.

Blink 182 Glasgow dates postponed due to a family emergency for Travis.
  3. Callan McKenna is the future, and to any Arbroath fan crying into their smokies about him winding up the fans, all I can say is get it right up you. The boy has absolutely everything, including the shithousery, to succeed at the highest level, of that I have no doubt. We made today much harder than it needed to be, but again we got the result. And just like last week, we deserved it.
  4. First half was an absolute stroll, and great for Hepburn to get off the mark. Second half I thought we regressed a fair bit. Didn't get off to a great start with an indirect free kick for a pass back, from my view of it () it genuinely looked like a tackle from Tizzard, but I can understand why it was given. That Arbroath failed to score from that golden opportunity summed them up for me. Of course, while we became incredibly wasteful with poor crosses from either open play or set pieces, Arbroath hit us on the counter and scored their one good chance of the game. Delighted Paton got a deserved winner in the end. Thought Thomas and Spong were particular standouts today, the Arbroath RB will be having nightmares all week. Looking forward to the reverse fixture now, especially as I missed both trips last year. Until then I look forward to more smokie tears about pointless shit like the price of a pie (Greggs is literally a 30 second walk from the "stadium") or shite hot take posts like "Lesser is rubbish" which literally every single QP fan knows and agrees with.
  5. I know he went and joined Dundee this season, but you're surely not writing the recipient of two of last years POTY trophies out of our history already...
  6. I hope the guy who is sitting beside the pixellot camera and is completely incapable of doing anything other than shriek continues to have an utterly terrible day.
  7. To have only been corrected on one name was one of the highlights of my year.
  8. Well I was distracted for a fair bit of time, firstly by Queen's Park actually being exciting for the first time in forever, followed by being absolutely miserable at the end of last season, to then away from football getting so addicted to Valheim with a few mates that it has become a daily play, but over the last 2 weeks I have made time for some Football Manager and got right back into this save. So, time for a huge update... March - September 2031 MLS: US Cup: NACL: So that covers everything on the park, but as usual off the park I have been wheeling & dealing, and replacing ageing players with potential future stars. Going out of Philidelphia have been 31 year old Federico Pereira (Al-Faisaly for £1.1m), 35 year old Philadelphia legend Stuart Findlay (Hibs for £45k) and 32 year old Riccieli (Eibar for £2.1m). Findlay was not involved at all for me, but Pereira and Riccieli were my 2nd and 3rd choice centre backs, so I needed to make two more signings. The domestic market was terrible, so once again I had to bring in some more foreign players. Ed Hercules joined from Southampton as a free agent in July. Despite his excellent surname and some good performances already, he slots in as the 3rd choice CB for now... ...because I have a new clear #1, although I doubt he'll be here long. I first scouted Matarr Sillah back in March, but he was demanding a Designated Player contract and I didn't have the money nor the space in the squad to accommodate that. However, I kept him on my shortlist and despite attracting attention from some big names when his contract at Atletico Madrid expired, he lowered his demands enough that I could afford to bring him in. And I'm delighted to say I have found yet another superstar, and my penchant for playing 3 hours a night but only playing two games and scouting the rest of the time has paid off. He does have a release clause of £5.25m in his contract, and I also had to waive Ewen Gibson (the Scottish-Ecuadorian player I signed for the hell of it) to free up the international player slot for him, but that's fine because Gibson was rubbish and Sillah is incredible. He'll be gone in January for sure.
  9. It was a back 4, but we went to a back 3 with one of the late substitutions. Longridge played at RB, and when he was subbed off for Liam McLeish (at the same time Robson was subbed off for Bannon) we went to a back three of Bannon/Tizzard/Fox.
  10. I said all last season he's the one player we should go full blown Gretna for and sign on a decent contract. If he had another season with us as good as last year, you'd make a healthy profit on him no matter what was spent to bring him here. Even with a couple of new faces at centre mid to go with Jack Thomson, I'd welcome him back in a heartbeat.
  11. They joined us because we're fucking massive, and it's time you realised that and started drying those tears.
  12. It is quite pleasing to see how utterly rattled some folk are by us right now, and talking absolute shite about what we're doing or paying players. If you think QP fans are "burying their heads in the sand" about what's been going on at the club since 2020, you've clearly not read this thread at all over the last year. Enjoyed last night at Lesser, despite the horrific weather there was some good football played at times, albeit with not much end product for QP. If we stick with this style of play I can see us conceding some stupid goals off the back of it, but when it comes off it's going to look lovely. McKenna, Tizzard and Reid played well together at the back, and once Hepburn got involved a bit more you could see his potential. You keep thinking we're paying players £100k a year for Championship football if you want. You're absolutely wrong, but whatever makes you happy I suppose.
  13. If you're looking for something to tide you over, the latest wee episode of the Spiders Talk podcast was released this evening. We got a chance to talk to Charlie Fox about his thoughts on last season, hopes for this season and everything in between. Spotify & Apple links can be found if you click on my signature on here, or if you don't subscribe to either of those, it's also available via player.fm. Will start posting it more regularly in here throughout this season, especially with Twitter currently in an absolute state. Apologies in advance for those that have no interest in it
  14. And everything said on the podcast is nonsense.
  15. That may be the fault of the podcast Twitter page. I tweeted out when they left that Eze was rumoured to be following Owen Coyle to Chennaiyin (which also appears to be a rumour but a strong one online) simply based on comments on Twitter, and some Indian Super League page cited us as an actual source confirming this transfer and it got a lot of traction https://twitter.com/TheISLtamil/status/1674364911462514688?s=20

    Gigs

Was on the fence about going to The Hu next week, seen them a couple times before and a bit skint this month, but my girlfriend won meet & greet tickets via the Bandsintown website so now I'm going never done a meet & greet or VIP tickets for anyone before, so no idea what to expect. I doubt they'll be much chat as well, although after a couple of pints in the sun before the gig my Mongolian might be as good as theirs.
  17. Lesser until after the Scotland/England game. Which is weird if Lesser isn't suitable for the whole season... They've got to use the next 12 months to bring Lesser to an acceptable standard. All this money spent on renting other stadiums would be saved had we actually got the job done right first time. Being back in Mount Florida next year is definitely a positive, but there's still some way to go for QP to sort this entire situation out.
  18. There's not a chance we're actually going to hire Malky Mackay. As Spider1975 said above, I also believe it's going to be someone that we really wouldn't expect, or necessarily even have heard of before. Not just because of the way that Beuker & the club want to operate, but because there have been absolutely zero rumours linking us with any of the usual names, which to me suggests we haven't made any contact with the likes of the list at the top of the page. But first if we could get some stadium news that would be nice. Then we'll take it from there.
  19. Thought I might as well just change the title of this thread, seeing as we've had 200+ pages of laughter, tears and questions about where we're playing our next game already. Speaking of, Broomhill have just announced this afternoon that they're moving out of Broadwood...
  20. Under contract until 2025, let's see if they can afford him.
  21. Oh how I laughed a week ago when the Dundee thread went up and I scrolled through the list of names. Not so funny now, let me tell you.
  22. And there was me thinking we'd stop embarrassing ourselves for at least a couple of weeks when the season finally finished.
