  1. I've never yo-yo'd so much with a manager as I have with Kettlewell.

He's fine setting a team up against the likes of Rangers and Celtic when the remit is clear (i.e. - don't get pumped) but against others he has a tendency to tie himself in knots with his selections and systems, usually to our detriment.

I've cooled on the whole "Kettlewell out" shtick but, f**k me, he's frustrating sometimes.

  2. Don't know whether to be more annoyed at VAR or the inevitability of our performance.

Results couldn't have gone better for us the other week and the opposite is true today.

Not sure if the team maybe bought into the top 6 chat but today shows we should still be very much looking down rather than up. Defence back to its best yet again, allowing the opposition a goal with their first real effort.

Theres a difference between breaking football rules and literally breaking employment laws.

If you genuinely think you could hire a foreign international and then not pay them a penny for months at a time then you crack on in, but "pay as you play" hasnt existed in reality for about 40 years in professional football.

No mate, it was tongue in cheek citing a rumour on a football forum didn't really expect anyone to get all HR ancy. As to the details I'm sure you are aware there are ways and means to get around things by being creative.

News to me Moulty had an England cap however.

Kettlewell is utterly clueless yet folk will still defend him for some unknown reason.

He should have gone after County pumped us 3-0 but, unbeknownst to everyone, he instead had another year sitting on his contract.

Devine on his wrong side and SOD who is beyond slow out wide yet Kettlewell is screaming at the players to get it out there. WHIT?! Add to that, Gent and Vale who have been 2 of our better players in recent weeks are benched.

Oh and the defence that keeps making the same mistakes week after week make a c**t of it again. I'm sure Kettlewell will comment on it post match but we'll likely be watching the same shitshow against Rangers on Saturday. It's not as if he works with these players day in day out and can coach them or anything like that.

    TL;DR - I'm a bit pissed off.

100%. The obvious compare is Lewis Ferguson at Bologna. When they were both coming through I would have said Turnbull was the superior player, but watching Ferguson strolling round Serie A these days is tremendous. Also Bologna's a fucking brilliant city.

This video is also excellent on the Scotland YouTube channel:

Said it on here before and had a bit of stick for it but I've always said Turnbull made the wrong move going to Celtic. Germany or Italy would have suited him perfectly.

  7. Both teams shat the bed late on at the weekend and I can see us doing the same again.

We play some decent stuff at times but are shitebags to a man and Kettlewell has zero tactical nous.

I expect we'll put in a similar performance to Morton the other week in that this is one of the few games where we'll be seen as favourites but this will only serve to put the pressure on and, as has happened all season when that's the case, we'll conspire to make a c**t of it somehow.

There's no doubt that people would be on here asking for subs had they not happened, but for me, disorganisation cost us more than tiredness.

But suppose the five subs do need to take place when they did:

74 minutes - Vale and Casey need to be withdrawn. Bring on Nicholson and Blaney and the other 9 players stay where they are.

84 minutes - Devine and Miller need to be withdrawn. Bring O'Donnell on for Devine, Shaw on for Miller and move Spittal (rather than Nicholson) back into midfield with Davor.

89 minutes - if Gent has to go off, surely Elliot could just about see out stoppage time with a settled defence.

I imagine we prepared for this game with players in a shape and structure we planned to play in. We went from making no changes in the first 74 minutes to ending the game with only 3 of our 10 outfield players in the position they started the game in so I would definitely say there's merit in the shout that changes were at least part of our undoing.

Of course, Wednesday is the bigger game but it's still helluva frustrating not to take anything from today.

Bang on and this is where my frustration lies with Kettlewell.

If a fan on a football forum can come up with this then surely a professional football manager should be able to.

I'm just going overboard on sentiment after an enjoyable weekend football wise, hospitality at my local team Stirling Albion yesterday with cracking food and drink to go with a 4-0 win, Celtic win in stoppage time albeit after a ropey performance especially in the first half then home to see Liverpool,  my favourite English team win the League cup with a 120th minute winner, also got a £300 coupon up yesterday so, now to finish the weekend in style with a Steak Pie supper 😎

I cringed so much reading this.
