  1. Was swaying back towards "Kettlewell out" at half time but after managing to score a goal and get a point against this St Mirren team (the greatest St Mirren team since last season) I feel he has to be given freedom of the town of Motherwell. All hail Kettlewell.
  2. Good to see we've used the international break to work on something we've been shite at all season. In fact, wait a minute...
  3. Kalvin Phillips seems to have been a rotten signing for West 'Am. Admittedly I don't see much of them but when I do he seems to be giving away penalties, gifting goals or getting sent off.
  4. Wondered how long it would be before this thread turned to shite. 2 pages is 1 more than I expected.
  5. An utter c**t of a guy. Genuinely wouldn't tire of punching his stupit face.
  6. I missed our last cup win by 4 months on account of not being born. Any final we've made since has been against the arse cheeks and we've simply not turned up. Making both cup finals in 17/18 is probably as good a chance as we'll ever get. We were cracking in both cups thst season and in any other year would have won at least 1 of them, I reckon. But typically we came up against Celtic's "invincible" team and came up short. I always thought that there was a 50/50 chance between us winning a cup and getting relegated. I now feel that relegation is more likely in the short to medium term and, that being the case, any cup win is likely to be off the table altogether.
  7. I'd forgot Manzinga even existed. He seems to have carved out a half decent career for himself. Currently playing in the K-League so fair play to him. Would Mandron be in with a shout of our Theo Bair award? Was a bit of a donkey with us (albeit got a couple of goals) yet I feel like St Mirren fans really like him.
  8. I know it's a friendly but so far we look every bit as good as the Netherlands. Appreciate they're maybe not the Netherlands team of once before but they'll still be eyeing the latter stages of the Euros.
  9. Hearts is an ideal move from Spittal's point of view and is exactly the type of move I'd imagine most of us thought he'd make. Bigger club, bigger wages and doesn't need to move far. Mind St Mirren thought they'd be signing him .
  10. My view on VAR, which has probably already been said, is that it's mostly utter shite. Goal line technology improved the game and VAR for black and white decisions (e.g. - offsides) would be fine. Where it falls down massively is when it comes to objective decisions such as Theo's handball at the weekend. The poor standard of refs we have up here were getting a lot wrong pre-VAR but you could just about give them the benefit of the doubt (sometimes) given that they only had one look and a split second to make a decision. We're now in a situation where officials are getting multiple views of things and are STILL making awful decisions. To be honest I'm surprised more refs (not just in Scotland) aren't calling for VAR to be binned as in the eyes of many it leaves them with no excuse for some of the decisions being made on a weekly basis.
  11. Agreed. Finances aside, even 10-15 years ago it would sound ridiculous to even suggest that Dundee United would one day become a feeder side for the likes of Brighton or Brentford. Likewise Hibs with Bournemouth. Unfortunately this is the way the game is going.
  12. I would (and probably will) buy my next car without seeing it. Been a few years since I bought a car and with the way prices have gone since then I don't see that I'll have any choice other than to widen the net. Won't be any older than 3 years old and if it comes with a service history and some sort warranty I don't think I'd be too worried about not viewing it beforehand. As others have said, a decent description and a good amount of photos would suggest to me it's an honest sale.
  13. I've never yo-yo'd so much with a manager as I have with Kettlewell. He's fine setting a team up against the likes of Rangers and Celtic when the remit is clear (i.e. - don't get pumped) but against others he has a tendency to tie himself in knots with his selections and systems, usually to our detriment. I've cooled on the whole "Kettlewell out" shtick but, f**k me, he's frustrating sometimes.
  14. Don't know whether to be more annoyed at VAR or the inevitability of our performance. Results couldn't have gone better for us the other week and the opposite is true today. Not sure if the team maybe bought into the top 6 chat but today shows we should still be very much looking down rather than up. Defence back to its best yet again, allowing the opposition a goal with their first real effort.
  15. Tony Watt scored twice for Dundee United at the weekend with Moult getting the winner earlier in the week also.
  16. Not normally one for former players chat but I see Biereth scored away at Lille tonight. Reckon we'd be a few points better off if St Mirren hadn't tried to maim him at the start of the season.
  17. Carragher's patter has always been honking. Still, at least he didn't spit on anyone.
  18. He really is. Makes the likes of "Fletch" and Sam Matterface almost bearable.
  19. My first kit. Got it for my 8th birthday and had my name and the number 8 on the back of it .
  20. Everytime one of the arse cheeks are due to play a bigger / better club in Europe one of these articles gets put out. The irony really is lost on rags like the Record and the S*n.
  21. Don't think results could really have gone much better for us today.
  22. I've probably been one of the biggest, moaniest, critical b*****ds as far as Kettlewell and this team are concerned but what a result that is. Manager and team deserves full credit and I'm quite happy to eat a very large slice of humble pie.
  23. Get Kettlewell to fu In fact, wait a minute.
