  1. Yes. Believe. Community coach and kit man. New signings already made in past few days.
  2. It is very sad. I also noted forth wanderers have also lost a gentleman who has given around 40 years service. Great men
  3. I think jack also used to scout players for an English club. I am sure he and Tam young worked together at peasy. I know they had Norrie Fulton in the ranks. Tam moved to pollok He paid a sizeable transfer fee to take Norrie over the city to newlandsfield. The striking legend scored the only goal in a Hampden park win against old rivals Arthurlie. Every year campsite black watch held their pre season tournament at station park, in front of huge crowds, jack was always in attendance. He and Mr gerry Marley would also speak about various players capable of doing a job at under 21, junior or senior level. Sadly, after today's announcement both are no longer with us.
  4. Magazine had huge problems with its overall circulation out to junior clubs and those who had social clubs. Jack wrote the main editorial and he never pulled any punches!!
  5. Well said! Got to know him at shettleston, and also when he founded the game magazine! Only ten stories... I can recall at least 20!! I concur with your message to his family and friends.
  6. Kevin mc groarty has been appointed as the new manager of bearsden AFC, who play in the central Scottish League. I understand it is his first job in management. He is now looking to recruit new players and coaches for the challenge ahead. More details on how to contact him are displayed on the team finder scotland Twitter feed.
  7. Great to see a lot of goalkeepers either resigning for their current clubs or seeking pastures new in the conference set up. Also guys I know and have taken previously now looking after their own custodians, especially at vale of Clyde and darvel. Keith and Zander ... Don't run them!!! Having been in their position, it is great planning specialist sessions pre season for managers and coaches, which allows them, in turn, to focus on the outfield players. The current lockdown and not knowing what time span awaits everyone on the other side is an added challenge, but you will all emerge stronger. Stay safe.
  8. If reconstruction was dead from the start as was again revealed today, what was the point of putting the group together? Also revealed lowland league approached in January and asked to consider that if brechin finished bottom and lost the play off, could they be place in lowland league instead of Highland league. I thought Mr Fraser's comments on radio today were excellent.
  9. Team finder scotland doing a superb job advertising availability of players from various locations looking for a club and also coaches... Outfield plus keeper coaches seeking a challenge in the new west set up announced last night.(•‿•). Goalie coach
  10. Spot on with Gerry. It's the old ...he ain't tall enough verdict by managers and scouts. Terrific goalie though. I can add Michael White to the list. If my memory serves me correctly, Mikey overtook sandy McLean's shut out record at least. I enjoyed training sessions with him, Scott black and Stevie, plus other younger gks I was allowed to bring in following an approach to go there and previously at glencairn from Willie Paterson. Michael was not popular amongst all the supporters after I left, and I know he conceded some poor goals, but those situations apply to every keeper. It goes with the position. Have really enjoyed this topic. Thank you for sharing your views and photographs, too.
  11. As a gk coach, I never had the pleasure of working with them, but I know from speaking to people whose opinions I respect, the pair were brilliant. Did you not know being mental is part of a goalies CV? (•‿•). I can give you one that I did coach when he was at Mary hill, where he won player of the year, and then years later at petershill... Scott black. Even when he was aged aged thirty five, he was the first one out to start our sessions, and had one particular season when he kept saving penalty kicks. Finished just behind Paul Mather in the club player of the year votes. We still keep in contact.
  12. Great service of information for clubs, different leagues and a link to part time podcast, which has some excellent interviews. Should also help coaches....including myself..and players seeking an approach from club managers to become involved in pre season training sessions when hopefully the current crisis eases enough to start up again. Take care.
  13. Great source of information for clubs, leagues and linked to the part time podcast, which features some brilliant interviews. Tfs could also assist coaches.,myself included...and players seeking an approach from a club manager to get involved when this current crisis eases to allow us to focus on pre season training. Well done team finder scotland
  14. Thank you to those who have viewed the topic I posted. Has also been great speaking with different managers this week and exchanging ideas which can be introduced when we eventually start back..
  15. Hi. Permit me to start a thread for a coach keen to conduct sessions in New set up. I will open the idea by offering to work goalkeepers alongside outfield players stints. Anyone interested should send me a private message usual method. Please include your contact number. Very many thanks for your time.
  16. Heard the Lochburn Park club are looking to appoint a new manager following Saturday's result at Port Glasgow. Have not seen the position advertised on social media, so can P and B followers predict any contenders?
  17. Surprised to hear and read this item of news. Is this team playing in Central Scottish? I previously spoke with a gentleman who was involved if it is the right team and he was very keen to get coaches in to help him improve what he called " a squad with great potential." One of his goalkeepers was out through injury, and the other needed proper coaching.
  18. Have Peasy lost a few players from last season and signed many new guys? Have not come across anything on their facebook page.
  19. Great post. Totally agree, in particular, about end of season games involving Under-19s/21s.
  20. No matter the outcome of today's game at Champions Lanark United, I want to highlight the fantastic job Tin Pail Manager MARK MacKAY has done in his first term at Fullarton Park. Pre-Match, not even a win against United would guarantee them promotion if Carluke Rovers do the business with their games in hand. I had the honour of coaching alongside Mark during evenings in the second half of last season when he won a treble with Saturday Morning Amateur club Red Star. Even then he was getting more players to turn up for his Tuesday nights - double in most cases - than the Tin Pail could muster on two evenings. His planning - right from pre-season sessions when I was involved again - was superb, and bringing John onto the backroom staff has been a masterstroke, further highlighting "standards and a work ethic have to improve here." Team discipline has also improved, and the Vale committee, who dont have cash to splash on players, have been behind the manager every step of the way with their support. Congratulations EVERYONE on an amazing turnaround.
  21. Lanark 1, Vale of Clyde 2.
  22. He talked his way into the Chief Executive job. I never thought he would be back at Firhill after he and Derek Whyte were sacked in early December that year - they still owe members of the backroom staff a Christmas dinner incidentally.
