  1. highlights now up... https://www.stenhousemuirfc.com/match/albion-rovers-vs-stenhousemuir-2/
  2. i was wrong. shame its only vocal.... GIUY !
  3. Actually enjoyed that today. I haven't said that in months. Best moment was my sons mates giving the subs some 'banter' they were giving it back in a nice Scottish second division way. .. was 1-1 at the time then we scored the winner ... kids - including the 3 ultras mentioned above all ran to the goal celebrating and giving it to the subs. giuy ! Absolute 2 division classic stuff. shame no cameras or we might have made it onto the superb ' A view from the terrace' ! once again Craig was correct. Rovers victory - although no fluke today. thought we were the best team by a long shot. Easily could have been 5.
  4. I can't be arsed looking but did they have 9 Cally Thistle players playing in the league match ? Not that is should have made a difference at the weekend but I've seen a lot worse.
  5. Wharton double with East and Smart scoring also to draw the game.
  6. clips are here. http://albionroversfc.co.uk/albion-rovers-2-v-1-stirling-albion/
  7. ha ha -we've won 5 games at home in 20 odd months !
  8. both of your keeper made point blank saves on a few occasions ? We'll play alot worse and win. Just ran out of ideas - sucker punch counter attack after we were pretty decent in first... Hope we can do some time wasting soon ! also good luck to the chap who had a fleece and a body warmer on... surely ended up in the Monklands !
  9. absolutely amazing GIUY between both benches. lovely stuff. ha ha
  10. The ref did tell them before but the St.Mirren keeper was nearly outside the wee box never mind his line. Rovers keeper less so... Well played Rovers - unlucky in the end. Some difference in the performance from last week. Rovers hit the bar and St.Mirren had a gaol chopped off, nothing between the teams, Rovers young keeper looks very capable and had a great match. Turned 18 last week. Penalties were a lottery with the ref booking both keepers for saving pens whilst off their lines... what a stupid rule. Smart and Brian missed. St.Mirren pen hit the post and bounced off keeper and rolled in.... Roll on Sat... could finish bottom or joint top !
  11. Here's the programme article about Michael. MICHAEl DUKE obituary 1980-2019 We were shocked and saddened to learn of the sudden death of our goalkeeping coach Michael Duke, who passed away just hours after our recent home game against Berwick Rangers. The 38 year old father of three joined Rovers last summer, after spending a decade in the junior ranks with Kilsyth Rangers. Michael also had spells (as a player) with Armadale Thistle, and for a time helped out former Rovers boss John Brogan at Lanark. Such was his love of football, Dukesy ( as he was affectionately known) also helped to coach the Dunipace under 20s side during his time at Cliftonhill. Michael was held in great affection by everybody at Albion Rovers FC and he will be sadly missed. Our sincere condolences go to his wife, family and friends. Below are just some of the tributes that have flooded in since the big man passed away. ‘Dukesy was more than a teammate, more than a colleague. He was a really good friend. He had a brilliant ability to make everyone feel at ease. I worked with him at Kilsyth Rangers and Albion Rovers and the one thing all the young players said was that it was Dukesy who was the first to talk to them, the first to help them settle in and reassure them when they needed support. He cared about everyone, he had such a big heart. I am absolutely devastated that he is gone. I will miss him so much and my heart goes out to Emma and the three kids. I just hope they can take comfort from the fact that Michael was loved by so many people ‘ - JD Peacock, club physio. ‘We are absolutely devastated. Michael was a great presence around Cliftonhill. I’d only known Michael for a short time but he was a great guy and a great presence to have around the club. He was helpful, always smiling and always had good banter with the lads. He was also very good at his job. Since I’ve come in Michael has been great working with the goalkeepers and was really upbeat. He didn’t just confine himself to the goalkeepers, he was very popular in the dressing room. My heart goes out to his wife, his kids and everyone who knew him ‘ - Kevin Harper, Rovers manager. ‘Its tragic and we can only imagine what Michael’s family are going through. We want to offer the family any support we can. We think of everyone at the club as our extended family. Michael was well liked by everyone. He was a friendly face around the club, and he will be very sadly missed’. - Eddie Hagerty, Rovers Chairman. ‘Devastating news has reached us that our good friend and former player Michael Duke has passed away. Michael enjoyed his testimonial last year after 10 years with the club, before moving on to a coaching career at Albion Rovers. Everyone associated with the club is gutted.’ - Kilsyth Rangers FC.
  12. Watched episode 2 yesterday. Loved it. I'm pretty sure Craig Telfer knows more about Albion Rovers than most of the fools on our MB ! Well done all. looking forward to catching up withe the other episodes. Tee.
  13. new Rovers home strip... http://www.thefootballnation.co.uk/albion-rovers-home-shirt-2018-19-adults
  14. interesting stuff, cheers, As for the signings not sure who out of the batch will be first team or reserve team. Also a few will be amateur, as per their contracts last season. A Rovers Select team won 1-0 on Saturday in a close door match, not sure who against ! but at least it was a clean sheet !
  15. backroom team have also joined to manage the reserve team. Scott Williamson, Lewis Wilson and Graeme Liveston...
  16. yes - but it works on an occasional licence so is only open for certain matches. They sell bottle beer etc. Kids are fine.
  17. I know where your coming from but could say the same for Parry - albeit at a higher level... X Stenny, Queens Park, Albion Rovers, Airdrie... he certainly looks more like the big keeper mould we've been screaming out for.
  18. Signed for stenny Good luck to a Rovers legend.... most appearances since the war, 364 or there abouts. Seems like a well travelled route for X Rovers players.
  19. from da web... "The club would like to point out that we checked the situation regarding the manager with the SFA prior to confirming John Brogan’s appointment and there is no barrier to John taking up the post of manager. John will be undertaking any required updates to his coaching certificates in due course and in a timescale agreed with the SFA. John is a very experienced manager and coach who is looking forward to getting started to putting a squad together for next season. Ronnie Boyd Chairman"
  20. cheers - he's a top guy. loved part 1.... watched the Rangers highlights for the first time in a long time..... Remember meeting some the players that night (Ciaran Donnelly etc) and we all watched the highlights on the big screen.... should have been in a semi bloody final !
  21. #LEGEND ! ARFC OK ! Ian Murray would be a good choice IMO... .... with Peter Houston as assistant.
  22. Chappie was with us before and didn't leave on best terms. No thanks.
