Musselburgh Ath 2-2 Tynecastle. 5th v 10th in East of Scotland Premier. Was a lot closer than I was expecting given reverse fixture finished 7-1 to Musselburgh. Tynecastle took lead in first half with a goal from a great free kick. Musselburgh pulled level not long after and game was pretty even if a little niggley. 2nd half Tynecastle had the better chances and deserved to go 2-1 up. Musselburgh equalised at the death with nice finish.
Is ground sharing with Tynecastle at Meggetland not an option. Feel for guys who have supported the team from East of Scotland days. Previous ownership have a lot to answer for.
Yeah I was seriously considering not going but it being right on my doorstep so no travelling costs persuaded me to go. That and my wife telling me it was game or Christmas shopping.
Spartans 2-1 Arbroath. Not the game I intended going to but a march in town meant I was not able to make Boroxburn game so I had to make do with 2nd visit to Ainslie Park in 7 days. Spartans better team from the moment they scored and should have won by more. Arbroath were surprisingly poor and it was hard to tell there was 2 divisions between the teams.
I have watched games from all 4 stands at Hampden, Pittodrie, Easter Road, Tynecastle, East End Park, McDermid, Dens, Tannadice, Firhill and Ibrox that I can think of.
Spartans 1-2 Peterhead. Decent game between two teams that are in the promotion play off places. First half was pretty even but Peterhead managed to go in 1 ahead. Spartans were much the better team in the second half and got back on level terms with a free kick that the Peterhead keeper seemed to think was going wide. Spartans pressed for the winner but Peterhead got the winner against the run of play with a fine finish from Hamish Ritchie. Over 500 in attendance.
Leith Ath 1-0 St Andrews United
Third top against third bottom of East of Scotland first division. Did not look like there was nearly the length of the league between these two. Was a very even game in the first half with both teams having chances. Second half turned on St Andrews being reduced to 10 men for a “last man” challenge. Leith used the numerical advantage to score the winner.
