[Rec] - Has spanish sub titles but is shit scary.

That'll be 'The Lives Of Others" for us non-german speaking people. Agreed tho, it is a quality film.

Went to the cinema earlier today and saw: Tropic Thunder - 2/10 Probarbly one of teh worst films I have seen for along time. The 2 marks are for Robert Downy Jr and some of his one liners. Jack Black and Ben Stiller were both really annoying and not at all funny. Didn't enjoy this at all, it was so bad infact that I left after an hour and went to watch Appaloosa -8/10 Very good western film with Ed Harris and Vigo Morttisen. Great chemistry between the two lead charcters and a good few one liners that you wouldn't expect. Dragged on slightly towards the end but it was a very good film despite havin Renee Zellwigger in it!!!

Being John Malkovicj - 7/10 Bought this film about a year ago and have just got round to watching it. The film is quite strange to say the least and had the potential to be a terrible film. It is however a pretty good film that throws up a few laugh out loud moments towards the start then gets a bit darker as thefilm goes on.

The Shining - 6/10 Can't say I was overly impressed by this film despite all the hype. Jack Nicholson is very good in the film tho. The main problem is I don't think I got the film to be honest. At first I thought it was just a case of there being ghosts in the hotel and Jack Nicholson going crazy and killing his family. But then at the end it has the photograph with Jack dated 1921, also during the film Jack Nicholson is told that he has always been the caretaker, so whats the script????? Also what is the deal with room 247, sems like there should be more of a story to it with the black guy being scared of the room aswell but the film doesnt really explain anything about it. Discuss...........

Watched a few films over the last few weeks Scarface - 8.5/10 Just finished watching it for the 1st time, a very good film. Al Pacino is shit hot in it. Hides its age well considering its 25 years old. Heat - 8.5/10 Another good film with Al Pacino, except this time he's the good guy, De Niro is also superb in it. Blood Diamond - 8/10 Good film, enjoyed it alot. Djimin Houson (guy from Gladiator) is very good in it. Harold and Kumar Escape from Guantanemo Bay - 3/10 I wish they hadn't escaped going by what I watched of this film. Quite enjoyed the 1st one but switched this off after bout 45mins, A bit pish. Flags of Our Fathers -7/10 Wasnt what I was expecting really, I thought it was going to be a typical war film ala Private Ryan, but its more to do with the story of the guys after they return back to America, with flashbacks to when they were fighting. Not a bad film by any means, just not what I was expecting. The Freightners - 6.5/10 Comedy / Horro with Michael J Fox, only picked it up because it was cheap on HD-DVD, nothing perticulary special about it but worth the watching. This Is England - 9/10 Another tremendous film by Shane Meadows, equally as good as Dead Mans Shoes although not quite as action packed. Alot of good performances considering alot of the cast arent professional actors/actresses.

This Is England - 9/10 I know it has bee nreviewed on here numerous times but it is a tremendous film. Shane Meadows knows how to make a film. Great story, great characters, great film.!!!!

Is it The Forgotten, with Julianne Moore??? Terrible film, turns out theres aliens and all sorts t odo with it. Very Stupid film.

In Bruges - 8.5/10 Very good dark comedy about 2 hitmen and a midget in Bruges. COlin Farrell is pretty good in it but reminds me of father dougal out of father ted alot in this movie.

[Rec] - 8/10 Low budget spanish horror/zombie movie shot with a video camera ala Blair Witch and CLoverfield. But my god this film was f*cking terrifying!!!!! Was honestly the scariest film I have ever seen!!!

Be Kind Rewimd - 8/10 Very funny film, Mos Def and Jack Black are very good in it and their version of Rush Hour 2 had me in stitches. Something abit original, liked it alot.

Eagle vs Shark- 7.5/10 Funny film in the same sort of style as Napoleon Dynamite, except set in New Zealand. Alot of laugh out loud moment in the first half hour or so then the film has abit of a lul then gets funny towards the end again. Altho a couple of times I thought it was trying too hard to be like Napoleon Dynamite. Also stars the guy from flight of the conchords, so if you like that then you'll prob enjoy this.

Yeah I know exactly what you mean about being hooked!! I was really likeing the film up untill the last half an hour and it just seemed to interupt the full flow of the film and had me thinkin, what the f*ck???? But it was alot better than I was expecting generally and it was also a great looking film!!!

Sunshine - 7/10 Would have easily been an 8/10 were it not for the stupid last half hour where they try and turn it into a horror/slasher type film. There was absolutely no need for it and really had very little to do with the rest of the film. An enjoyable film just strange why they added the horror bit!!!

I thought it was a cracking ending. Makes a bit of a change from the usual hollywood pishy endings(spoiler)

Transformers - 8.5/10 Quality film that looked awesome on my 42" LCD TV!!! And megan fox is smokin hot!!!!

I got the dvd a couple of months ago and was thinkin about reading the book first but I was bored last night and ended up watching the film. Will go and buy the book now and see the differances!!

Everything is Illuminated - 9/10 Elijah Wood plays a Jewish American who travels to Ukraine to try and trace a woman who helped his Grandfather escape to American during the war. And its brilliant. The first half of the movie had me laughing out lout loads!!! The second half however is aot more serious and deals with what happened to a Jewish town during the war. Its still an exceent film and I would recommend it to anyone!!

Watched a few films over the last few nights and heres what i thought of them!!!! Casino Royale - 6.75/10 Not a fan of bond films at the best of times but this was alright, not great, just alright. Still abit over the top at bits, e.g. fighting on the cranes. Prob the best bond I've seen but still miles behind teh Bourne films. Fargo - 6/10 Wasnt massively impressed by this film, has a good few moments in it but def not the Coen brothers best work. Mallrats - 8/10 Watched this on Film4 last night and was alot better than I was expecting, just stupid comedy, more in the style of Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back than Clerks, which is a good thing as I didnt like Clerks. Quite a few laugh out loud moments!! National Treasure - 8/10 I liked this film, again much better than I was expecting, was abit cheesy in parts and one of the henchmen had prob one of the worst Scottish accents I have ever heard. Sort of The Goonies crossed with Da Vinci Code. Worth a rent at least.

Epic Movie - 5/10 Not as bad as I was expecting but still pretty bad all the same. Usual Scary Movie parody type film!!

Babel - 6.5/10 Not bad, but not what I was expectig either. Has 3 seperate stories all supposedly interlinking into one, however one of the stories (the japanese) one has really hee-haw to do wi the other one, and its like the makers of the film had an idea about the Japanese story line and just made a really poor link so that they could get it in the movie. Some really good visuals in the film tho.

The Prestige - 8.5/10 Wasnt really expecting much to be honest but this is a fantastic film. Plenty of twists and turns, just when you think that you have it sussed it throws another twist at you. Acting is ok, not great but does the job. Oh and Scarlett Johannsen is absolutely fantastic!!
