  1. I'm a bit late to the party but here are two clipping from old newspapers. The JamesEwing1.png image is from the Football News (Nottingham) dated 22/4/1911 The JamesEwing2.png image is from the Scottish Referee dated 25/2/1911
  2. Cliftonhill's main stand was officially opened on 21st August 1920 for a game against Celtic.

    Scottish U21 Cup

I'll assume I'm barking up the right tree here. Let me know if I have the correct Cup competition. Motherwell 1- 2 Celtic 1987 Dunfermline 2 -1 Dundee 1988 Dundee United 0 -1 Celtic 1989

    Scottish U21 Cup

Is this the kind of thing you are looking for? Aberdeen beat QoS 2-0 and the clipping is from the Press and Journal - 7th May 1986.
  6. Here is some info for old newspaper clippings that might help. One is from the Devon Valley Tribune (a newspaper from Clackmannanshire) dated 7th November 1899 and another from the Alloa Advertiser from 11 March 1911.
  7. Dalgleish was 14 League games in before his first cap on 10th Nov 1971 v Belgium. He had various Cup matches for Celtic on top of this 14.
  8. Since 2005-6 and the introduction of the play-offs, Stranraer have featured 8 times and lost them all. I make it 2005-6,2006-7,2007-8,2011-12,2013-14,2014-15,2015-16 and 2020-21. Airdrie are sitting on played in 6 play offs and lost them all with the games against Morton to come. Raith are sitting on played in 6 play offs and lost them all. Alloa and Cowdenbeath have won the most playoffs, with 4 each. Fun facts.
  9. There are two more names to this list:- Andy Matthew played for all 4 and Rangers. They bought him for £4500 from East Fife in 1958 and sold him to Raith for the same sum 2 years later. He went on to manage Raith and Cowdenbeath. Robert Gordon Forrest (more commonly known as Gordon Forrest and not be confused with Bobby Forrest who also played for Dunfermline). He played from 1972/3 to 1983/4 for all 4.
  10. Attendance was 2,276 according to Rothman's yearbook and took place on a Monday (28th April 1986). Evening Times the next day doesn't seem to have a match report but has a piece on the game. The Herald did have a report.
  11. Found a couple of newspaper articles. One from the Stage on 10th March 1977 about his death and one from the P&J on 26th July 1974 about his retirement. Worth looking at the BBC's archive of the Radio Times which you can find here:- https://genome.ch.bbc.co.uk/ By searching '"Peter Thomson" football you'll find listing such as the second half of a floodlight match between Falkirk and Newcastle on 20th October 1953 where he co-commentated with Kenneth Wolstenholm.
  12. Evening Times on 1/9/56 gives a half-time report on one page and final score on a later page.
  13. The Motherwell game was on Sunday 26th July 1985. Motherwell had played Clach the day before. Aberdeen papers don't list the teams but Motherwell won 2-1 with both goals from Andy Harrow and McCulloch scored for Forres.
  14. Bobby Geddes was more than 30 years between his first game for Dundee and his last. His first game was on 11/9/1979 in an Anglo Scottish Cup tie against Sheffield United at Dens Park. His last game was on 21/4/2010 in a League match against Raith Rovers when he came on as a sub. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/d/dundee/8638423.stm
  15. Here are 4 images that, I think, proves that J.Boyd is John Boyd the ex-East Stirling keeper as suggested. The first image is from the archives of the Singapore newspaper called the 'Straits Time'. It appears on 18th May 1962 edition of the paper and states that J.Boyd played for Stirling Albion but I doubt this is correct. You can see a small image of J.Boyd (fifth from the left) as well as Jim Baxter etc. The next three images come from a book on East Stirling that came out about 40 years ago. The photo is from 1959 and you can see that J.Boyd (third from left at the back) looks like guy in the Singapore newspaper photo. Similar hairline?
