  1. I mentioned St Mirren in a prev post, good that Killie can do it too, but i don't see the comparison to Livi, we haven't the support you two have to make up the thousands of tickets we'd need to drop their allocation, which is why we give out the 3 stands in the first place. Also who in their right mind would want to bring their kids to erse cheek games no matter how many are let in, it's hardly the games you'll grow a support from. We've given out free tickets to schools and youth clubs and tried to encourage younger fans along to other games, i don't see the 3 games against Celtic and Sevco as being likely to chase young fans away. Anyone with kids would be best avoiding those games tbh, which is what i and another Livi fans mentioned in an earlier post, was the reason some dads that supported Sevco, took their sons to Livingston games, and they became Livi fans instead of Sevco ones.
  2. Now i've got the tune in my head too, but to different lyrics. Relegation, relegation home again to the Championship i am sailing, stormy waters to be with you, to be free (of the erse cheek games)* *and VAR
  3. What a load of shite. You say you understand why we do it, then go back on that slagging us off for doing it. Pure snobbery saying it's a minter for the league or Livi. BIB is up there with clubs should be able to afford grass pitches if they're in the top flight. 3 home games against the erse cheeks brings in about 700K, we certainly couldn't afford to lose that because some folk think it's a minter.
  4. Same, i can get caught up in the emotion of the game watching it, and shout and swear as much as the next man, but once i'm out the stadium i'll happily chat to opposition fans in the pub.
  5. Nope, never wore those either, had a bit of a tantrum when my mum tried to make me wear a tank top, but she relented. Aye a lot of folk had sprained and broken ankles wearing them. Those clacker toys were dangerous too, think they got banned from school playgrounds.
  6. Can remember that end of season relegation game against Dundee where a family of Dundee fans were sitting in front of us and the woman was jumping up and down like crazy when Dundee scored, the family of one of the Livi mascots complained about her and the next thing the 2 women started fighting with one another, and their hubbies were dragging them apart. The stewards removed them from the Livi end. Wummin eh. Aye don't think they caused any trouble, they couldn't be removed and put in the away end because it was sold out, so they were asked/told to remove/cover up their Celtic gear.
  7. Not even in the 70's, think my big bother wore them with platform shoes, and had that long hair poodle look.
  8. Sure it was for the Palestine flags and banners about Israel in Gaza, in a European game, which Celtic got fined for because Europe don't just ignore these things like our authorities. .Think the erse cheeks also bring their own security to 'help us out', and prob just stood aside to let them come on the pitch to put up the banners. They get away with bringing a shit load of flares in too, which is a bit of a joke. Last couple of seasons, i've been patted down at Dingwall twice, and Tynecastle once, and i'm hardly the age group that would be bringing flares into a game. Only other time i've been searched at the football was at Ibrox about 20 years ago.
  9. Always the same with them, and the other erse cheek, they're as bad as one another at rolling out what Glasgow side you support when things don't go their way. You beat one and lose to the other and they accuse you of not trying as hard because you're a (whatever). We had Dominic Keane and Pearse Flynn as owners, both Celtic fans, so we were wee Celtic. Davy Hay and then Paul Lambert as managers, followed by Richard Gough & Archie Knox taking over from Lambert, that's a mixed bag to confuse them. Match officials get the same from them, they are so self absorbed they think that poor officiating only happens to them, and it's because the ref supports the other erse cheek.
  10. BTW we could prob make at least another 10K letting them buy tickets in the home stand too, but the club has tried to stop that by making it ST holders only that can buy tickets for someone, so it will only be Livi fans in there. And we got slagged off for doing that too, canny fecking win.
  11. So we shouldn't make use of all the empty seats making money for us, just because other club's fans think it a minter having 3 stands full of erse cheek fans? That's fine if you've got home fans filling your ground, like St Mirren did, and their fans made the effort to go so they weren't losing money not giving the cheeks as many seats, or Hearts that have enough fans to fill their stadium without giving away fans tickets, but we'd be losing out on a couple of hundred thousand pounds cutting their allocation. I don't agree we're giving them an advantage letting them outnumber us either, we've taken pts off them a few times with them outnumbering our fans, so i don't think it helps them any, we're just shite this season and even if they only had 100 fans in they'd beat us. Each club has to do what's best for itself, if other clubs can afford to give them less tickets then great, but i don't agree it's a one size fits all issue and anyone not able to afford to gets lambasted.
  12. From what i read he wasn't sacked but offered another position doing something else. But none were suitable or appealing for him, and from his perspective as good as sacked. As i said before, i didn't think he was particularly good vocally, not just because the speaker system wasn't helping, but he's been around that long it's strange why he's been removed from doing it now.
  13. Aye but rather than seeing what an achievement it is for a small supported club with limited funds being promoted to the top flight and staying there for 6 seasons, that thinking is look at what a minter it is for the league having a diddy club with 3 stands usually not full, being utilised for clubs that can fill them. Also the same thinking would be what a minter for the clubs with big supports languishing in the lower leagues, when a club with such a small support as us has 6 seasons in the top flight. Pure elitist crowdwanking snobbery, the kind that would set up a top flight with the biggest supported clubs, and have no more promotions or relegations. Yet the same folk complain about the erse cheeks having a monopoly on winning the league.
  14. Recently i can only remember last season up in Dingwall Ross County had one announced before kick off, and the tribute against Celtic there for a minute's applause during the game. At one stage a few seasons ago you had quite a few national ones covering disasters and terrorists attacks, the Queen's mum*, Phil, then the way OTT ones for the Queen. The Queen's in particular was overboard because there was one for a few different match days, plus all the state ones with the coffin, plus the actual funeral, which should've been enough without football grounds having them. *that one was at Parkheid when we played Celtic and was never going to be given any respect, but they were trying to make it a 2 mins silence, think the ref just blew his whistle for it to end after about 30 seconds.
  15. A personalize tribute for the passing of a fan sounds like a plan. The 'HOW MANY TIMES REF' guy i hear at home and away games, we all shout how many times for a minute's tribute, or the auld guy behind me with shoot tourette's, once he starts he can't stop, shoot shoot shoot SHOOT SHOOT SHOOT SHOOOOOOOOOOOOT.
  16. That still gives me a laugh thinking about Airdrie's remembrance programme having the German soldiers photo on the cover. We played you that weekend and my mate bought one and kept it as a keepsake.
  17. VAR checks should get that slow hand clap they do in tennis when players request a check whether the ball was in, but then again the tennis checks don't go on for 5 or more minutes.
  18. Plenty other games they can buy tickets and come along though, more likely that anyone doing so against the erse cheeks will be opposition fans. Some ST holders don't even go to these games. The decision was taken after our fans complained about the amount of Sevco fans in our stand, trying to noise up the Liv Ultras. Think it's worth it just for 3 home games against them.
  19. You mean that we can't even fill the one stand? If we didn't there would be erse cheek fans in there too though, so the club is at least trying to segregate us from having them in beside us. I't's an easy target for opposition fans slagging us over our small support, but the only ones actually taking the slagging are the ones that go support their team, and are no less of a fan than a bigger supported club. On that score it's more a shame that more of the local community don't get behind their team, i've supported Livi for about 27 years though, and past the stage where it bothers/annoys me. We had around 3 or 4 thousand fans our first stint in the top flight, and after admins and a lot of turmoil with demotions etc, it got as low as 600 and odd, been a bumpy ride supporting Livi.
  20. Yeah it can put off some folk coming along when playing them, esp if they have kids. My neighbour supported Sevco but got ST's at Livi to take his son to the football for that very reason. Think our home support rose by several hundred in our stint in the Premiership, hopefully they stick around when we're relegated.
