  1. We've only 3 midfielders left in the team that played regularly last season and another couple that made the odd appearance, they aren't all CM either. We could do with some wingers though, unless Keaghan is going back on the wing we've got none.
  2. I think he was meaning to Robertson having signed for us, haven't seen it announced anywhere official.
  3. So far less than a handful have slagged off Robertson. Can't actually remember any Ton fans sticking up for Russell when he signed for us. Wilkie did ok for us last season, wouldn't have minded him staying on with us.
  4. Slagged off Iain Russell too, who went on to get our record for most goals scored in a season. I do fear for us this season though, in a season where most clubs will take advantage of higher gate revenue by increasing their playing budget Livi are still cutting back on ours. Pretty ironic really considering our history of throwing money about.
  5. He must be cheap, we're going with players who will play for next to nothing this season. We'll prob be joining Morton in div 1 next season.
  6. Cheers, was wondering if it was just my laptop blocking the site or something. been like that since yesterday. Wonder if the site has been hacked again.
  7. Is anyone else not able to get on LL, I just get "this page can't be displayed" when I try to go on it.
  8. You'd need a main striker if you signed him, he's a decent support player to feed off, holds the ball well and wins flick ons in the air, will score 8 or 9 goals too if he can stay free from injuries.
  9. He was injured for the last quarter of the season. Prob too much of a risk as he got injured then came back for about a minute into a game and was injurd again, with a different injury. Did well partnering McNulty though in the early part of the season.
  10. Looking forward to playing at Tynnie too, my favourite away ground.
  11. I wasn't happy that we didn't offer him an extended contract, he's a good player at this level. Gives the midfield a bit of dig as he's bulked up a good bit from the wee skinny lad the first time he was at Livi, comes in hard and uses his physique well to win balls. As has been mentioned he likes to try a cheeky bit of skill to catch the opposition out. Good signing for Raith.
  12. he's been decent at Livi, has the odd game where he gets taken apart but mostly he's been fine. Wont be playing until January as he's injured.
  13. Would be a good player for one of the Championship teams to get on loan gutted we punted him as I really rated the wee man.
  14. Played against Dumbarton a season ago and scored a goal, as did Mullen, but since then hasn't had much of a shot in the first team, in fact he didn't get near it this season. Mullen has been favoured over him. Looks strong enough and scored plenty goals in the youth team, got a few in the reserves too but as I said hasn't featured much in the first team to judge what he can do. How is Dylan Easton getting on, was disappointed when we punted him as he looked a decent prospect. Wee skilful player that scored a goal of the season contender before we punted him.
  15. Yeah disappointing, was expecting big things from him, though he wasn't getting much of a chance under McGlynn to see what he could do. Best I saw him play was when he was put up front alongside McNulty in an early season game, the two of them were ripping up the opposition.
  16. Something positive on this thread about Livi, I need to sit down for a couple of minutes.......................
  17. Most people wouldn't rent out a 10 bedroom house when they can only afford a 1 bedroom one though. Right from the start there has been a misconception that Livi would fill their stadium and every owner has fallen into the same trap, looking at the catchment area without having a fucking clue. If they had come in and tried to grow a support over the years then Livi may well have risen to what Falkirk have in attendances but with all the financial fuckwitery putting us into admins and general piss poor public relations there was no chance of having a steady support let alone one that would grow. The old chestnut of thinking we belong in the top tier is another one that has led to every owners doom. This current mob came in with promises to spend 99p in the pound but again let any sense they had go right out the window. Fair enough they got a curve ball thown at them by the SFL chucking us into the bottom league but they have to take responsibility for throwing caution to the wind and waiting until we were back a season in the 1st div before making drastic cuts to the budget. Really looks like they had to be on the brink of admin and couldn't afford any more director loans before they took action, crazy!
  18. It's another factor of why Livingston fc don't pull in fans from the surrounding towns. Nearly every town has a local junior team, Fauldhouse, Whitburn, Armadale, Bathgate, Broxburn, West Calder, Blackburn, Livingston etc, that's a lot of footballing fans that wont be attracted to Livi. West Lothian has a decent sized population but I'd guess a lot wont be interested in going to games too, either because they have other interests that are family orientated, or 'support' a big team and just watch them on tv.
  19. Lots of junior clubs in West Lothian too which have a few hundred fans each, and also lots of people that are just not interested in going to a football match.
  20. The worst of the lot was Massone and he left with enough to buy a few new shirts. He put sod all in, ran up debt left right and centre, buggered off with the family silver and a final pay off to finally GTF.
  21. He fronted Livi 5 in the sense he was the face of the club and made all the club statements, may not have been the main man behind the scenes but it certainly looked like he made the decisions until recently when Rankine ousted him. Nixon had enough clout to get rid of Bollan and several players.
  22. Yep, I think stability on the pitch helps a lot to bring more money into the club. A feel good factor around the place brings more fans to games and prob helps with the corporate side of things too. Mucking around with the team and punting the manager who got us back into the 2nd tier was a big mistake. The decision to drop gate prices and raise ST ones this season was also a massive faux pas.
  23. I think your hatred for him has clouded your reasoning. Don't particularly have any love for him either but credit where it's due, he fronted the Livi5 consortium and had a lot to do with getting rid of Massone and taking over, he was the figurehead of the club and made the decisions until Rankine stepped up. It was all going pretty well on the playing side of things until his fall out with Bollan and Deuchar. Since then it's turned to shit. Def isn't a viable business as Director loans are keeping it afloat and one of the reasons Rankine has stepped in is that the directors have reached the bottom of their piggy banks. I suspect the arrival of The Rangers and Hearts will keep the club going for at least another season but it is touch and go just now with this court case.
