  1. 5 teams removed due to folding recently (Goldenhill, Loanhead, Clydebank AFC, Newmains United Amateurs, Rhu {GGP}), bringing the total down to 602.
  2. https://scotscores.theroonba.com/clubrank/clubrankam.html Clicking on teams gives their results for this and last season, along with ranking point exchanged, while tabs above are rankings for each association, and for the districts (East, West, North, South, North of Tay, Fife, Highland). 607 teams in total (all clubs playing Saturday Amateur football affiliated to the Scottish Amateur FA). Enjoy!
  3. Replays: Longniddry Villa 0-3 Glenburn Miners Welfare Balgonie Scotia 1-1 Annbank United (2-3 pens) Oban Saints 6-0 Meadowbank Dalziel HSFP v Galston United tie apparently abandoned in November - any idea what's happening with that match now? Last 32 draw has been made: I've now got a working Scottish Amateur club ranking, so I'll put the rankings of teams in as well for reference. Still a few non-top tier teams left in: Greenock HSFP (Central Tier 2) Annbank United (Ayrshire Tier 2) Glasgow Wellington (Saturday Morning Tier 2) Leslie Hearts (Kingdom of Fife Tier 3) East Kilbride Colts (Saturday Morning Tier 3) Greenock (Saturday Morning Tier 3) The 38 teams are split among 10 of the 16 winter leagues, with Ayrshire & Central both having 9 teams left in. Lothian & Edinburgh doing poorly this year, with only 1 team left each. Leslie Hearts (194) are lowest ranked team left in the draw. Ayrshire – 9 Central Scottish - 9 Saturday Morning – 5 Caledonian - 4 Kingdom of Fife - 3 Aberdeenshire – 2 Dundee Saturday Morning – 2 Scottish AFL - 2 Greater Glasgow Premier - 1 Lothian & Edinburgh – 1 Border – 0 Glasgow Colleges – 0 Midlands - 0 Perthshire – 0 Stirling & District - 0 Strathclyde Evangelical Churches - 0 MATCH TEAM 1 LEAGUE RANKING TEAM 2 LEAGUE RANKING 1 Cowie Thistle Aberdeenshire 37 Tarves Aberdeenshire 71 2 Glasgow Wellington Saturday Morning 135 Wishaw High School FP Central Scottish 13 3 Bannockburn Central Scottish 4 Dalziel High School FP Galston United Neilston Amateurs Caledonian Ayrshire Scottish AFL 59 68 92 4 Port Glasgow Scottish AFL 93 Greig Park Rangers Kingdom of Fife 32 5 Oban Saints Central Scottish 21 Cupar Hearts Kingdom of Fife 6 6 Dirrans Athletic Ayrshire 25 Tannochside United Greenock Saturday Morning Saturday Morning 78 137 7 Shortlees Ayrshire 3 Castlemilk Dynamo Stewarton United Lesmahagow Amateurs Central Scottish Ayrshire Central Scottish 5 26 2 8 Cumnock Amateurs Ayrshire 23 Glenburn Miners Welfare Ayrshire 31 9 Gartcosh United Central Scottish 9 Stobswell Dundee Saturday Morning 48 10 Tarbolton Ayrshire 49 Steins Thistle Central Scottish 36 11 East Kilbride YM Caledonian 11 Tollcross Thistle Lothian & Edinburgh 10 12 Greenock High School FP Central Scottish 41 Doune Castle Caledonian 15 13 Saint Joseph’s Caledonian 20 Chryston Central Scottish 34 14 The Maidens Dundee Saturday Morning 132 Annbank United Ayrshire 27 15 Braehead West Kilbride Saturday Morning Ayrshire 140 83 East Kilbride Rolls-Royce Greater Glasgow Premier 30 16 East Kilbride Colts Saturday Morning 43 Leslie Hearts Kingdom of Fife 194 An all-Aberdeenshire tie between Cowie Thistle and Tarves means a guaranteed Aberdeenshire side in the Last 16. 7 of the Top 10 still in the competition (St. Patrick's FP (1), Leven (7) and Drumchapel (8) have been knocked out). Top ties should be: Shortlees (3) against Castlemilk Dynamo (5) or Lesmahagow Amateurs (2), East Kilbride YM (11) v Tollcross Thistle (10) Oban Saints (21) v Cupar Hearts (6)
  4. It's not Premier Division Kennoway that's playing Drumchapel United, it's Kennoway Star Hearts Amateurs, who are near the bottom of the bottom Fife League, and lost their last 17 matches last season, shipping 113 goals. Should be an easy away win. Kennoway lost 2-1 away to Lothian & Edinburgh 3rd tier side Barca-Milton in the first round.
  5. 6. Yeah, I didn't mean Glasgow Harp were outside the Top 30 - they are inside it, but behind Drumchapel. a win by 1 goal playing at home would therefore be expected (albeit difficult). I suppose it could qualify as result of the round by virtue of Glasgow Harp being possibly the highest-ranked team to get knocked out.
  7. They've still not corrected any of the wrong scores I mentioned (I DMed them on Twitter, and they have read my messages). Last season, the 2nd round draw was made 3-4 days after the 1st round ties - so possibly the same this year. I wouldn't say Drumchapel United beating Glasgow Harp was a shock - the original Drumchapel United moved to the seniors, of course, and their Saturday Afternoon amateur team resigned from the Central Scottish early last season. The Saturday Morning team (the team that beat Glasgow Harp) started up just last season, and played in the 2nd Tier, but absolutely annihilated almost everyone they played - they have continued in the same vein this season, scoring 40 goals in their first 6 games. I'd rate them a Top 30 team (ahead of Glasgow Harp) - they are possibly the best team in the Saturday Morning amateur league at the moment.
  8. The 2nd round is all-in (I think this happened at the 3rd round in previous editions). The 256 teams will be from the West (133), East (66), North of Tay (36) and North (21). The 2 West of Scotland U21 teams made it comfortably through the first round, and another 2 were given byes (Cambuslang Rangers U21 and Thorn Athletic U21) - so there will be four U21 teams in Round 2.
  9. All today's scores, plus a few matches that were played on Thursday and Friday that were listed as Saturday on the SAFA website. http://scotscores.theroonba.com/clubrank/clubam0922.html Note: Dunoon 6-1 Mauchline United was the final score (not 7-0 as shown on the SAFA website).
  10. Loganlea definitely seems to have been 12-2 (and not 14-2). For tonight, they got the Pollok United v Lesmahagow score wrong (2-6 instead of 2-7), and missed out 2 matches, and also put Rosehill United 2-2 Garrowhill Thistle as a full-time (but the match was actually abandoned). Results for Friday's games here: http://scotscores.theroonba.com/clubrank/clubam0922.html
  11. Interesting that this year, there are 2 clubs from outside the adult amateur leagues taking part - Rutherglen Glencairn U21 and Saint Mungo's U21 from the West of Scotland Youth League. I didn't realise they were eligible to compete. Already, there are problems with getting correct scores - one of the first 2 matches (played on 27th August) saw Hearts of Beath take on Loganlea United in a bit of a mismatch. Loganlea won 12-2 (according to their own Twitter), but 14-2 according to the SAFA website, and 14-1 according to the Kingdom of Fife AFA website.
  12. Whitfield Tavern (Dundee Saturday Morning, Premier) have folded, so they've now been removed from the tables. Forfar West End Amateurs (Forfar Athletic Community last season) have also pulled out of the Midlands League. Middlefield Wasps (Aberdeenshire Div. 2 North) haven't played yet - I don't know if they have folded or not. Central Scottish: Fallin (Premier) and Cambusnethan Talbot and Garrowhill Thistle (Championship) have yet to play a match. Does anybody have any news about whether any or all of these teams have folded/are taking a year out? They are all still appearing in the CSAFL league tables.
  13. Note: It's now possible to click on team names in the amateur tables on my site, which will take you to a list of their matches back to the start of the 2021-22 season. Also, the "amateur results database" contains monthly results from all leagues back to July 2021. Clicking on August 2022 brings up all the latest scores from all the leagues. http://scotscores.theroonba.com/clubrank/clubam0822.html Don't think it's possible to get all the amateur results in one place anywhere else.
  14. That's what Genaro said - it's Crazy Feet who suggested Drumchapel Ams were joining (and had an U20 team in the WOSFL). Genaro is aware of the difference, and pointed out that it was Drumchapel United who were in the WOSFL, not Drumchapel Ams. Odd that Crazy Feet should then like your post blaming Genaro for not knowing the difference! I feel this explanation will be wasted.
  15. Midlands League is down one team - now just 13 teams (+11 in the Alliance (Reserve) League - down 1 from last season). Merpro of Montrose are the team that's absent this time (they are a former Montrose Welfare League team). Forfar Athletic Community have become Forfar West End Amateurs (this team seems to swap between being part of both these clubs - they were part of Forfar WE before 2021-22, then were part of Forfar Athletic last season, but are now part of Forfar WE again). They've withdrawn their team from the Reserve league as well for this season. The Dundee Saturday Morning League seems to be doing better - 34 teams for 2022/23. In fact, there's only 1 team from Dundee proper left in the Midlands League (Morgan Academy FP), with 2 from Broughty Ferry, 1 from Invergowrie in Perthshire, 1 from Newport in Fife and the rest from Angus. Dundee Saturday Morning has a few new or returning teams - Lochee Harp Amateurs, Claverhouse and Polepark. Also, Fairmuir Social has changed their name to East End Thistle - and a new club has come in - named Fairmuir Social Club (confusing!). Perthshire is reasonably healthy this year, with 21 clubs (10-11 setup). Bridgeton United, Vale of Atholl and Kinrossie Caledonian failed to complete last season, but they are all there again for this season (with Bridgeton being demoted to Division 2). Saint John's (one of the best sides in Perthshire) are back after a year out, while Abernethy return after what must be 20 years or more out. FC Romania is a new club from Blairgowrie. It's been a while since Blairgowrie had 3 amateur teams (with Blair Thistle not lasting long a few years ago, and Blairgowrie Amateurs folding a while back). Not sure how much of a local support FC Romania will get, though. A lot will be from families who've stayed on in Blair after the berry picking season.
  16. A lot of the top teams use this league to field their 2nd teams (5 of the 12 teams in the Top division are technically reserve teams, mainly of Caledonian League clubs).
  17. Fallin have released a statement saying they haven't officially folded (yet) but if they don't have something in place by the season's first game on 13th August, then it will indeed be curtains for them.
  18. Threave Development played in the Dumfries Sunday Amateurs last season, and finished quite close to the bottom of the table. That was the team I was referring to.
  19. The comments on their FB page responding to them saying it was their last ever bonus ball draw seem to suggest that they have indeed folded. That would leave the Central League with a 11-13 setup, and I'd expect them to promote the promotion/relegation play-off losers Garrowhill Thistle to have an even 12-12 setup.
  20. Just a brief mention about the 4 new clubs joining from the amateur ranks: 1: Eglinton (Kilwinning Rangers Amateurs) - finished 2nd in Ayrshire Amateurs Div. 2 A (Tier 3) last season. 2: West Park United - Won Central Scottish Championship (Tier 2) last season. 3: Thorn Athletic - Finished 3rd in Caledonian Premier (Tier 1) last season. 4: Easterhouse Academy (Easthall Star) - Finished 4th in Scottish AFL Premier (Tier 1) last season Eglinton will retain an amateur team in the Ayrshire League. Easterhouse Academy will also have an amateur team in the Saturday Morning League (they've taken over another amateur outfit, Red Star, who played in the now-defunct Glasgow & District Saturday Morning League last season), another amateur team in the Airdrie & Coatbridge Sunday League, and also an U20 team in the Lowland Development League. Threave Rovers will have a development team playing in the Dumfries Sunday Amateur League. Glenvale have taken on the amateur club Carlton YMCA in the Scottish AFL, and will play as Glenvale Carlton next season in that league, and they will also have an U20 team in the Lowland Development League. Saint Peter's will have an U20 team in the Lowland Development League, and an amateur team in the Saturday Morning League. BSC Glasgow will have an U20 team in the Lowland Development League. Kilsyth Athletic will have an amateur team in the Football Central Sunday League (club formerly known as Kilsyth Rovers have become Kilsyth Athletic Sundays). Harmony Row Youth Club has an amateur team playing in the independent Glasgow Community & Co-operative League (outside SAFA jurisdiction).
  21. Last season finished with a set up of 7-10. Up to a healthier 10-11 this season (was going to be 10-12, but Letham Colts decided to take a year out). Division 1 Breadalbane Burrelton Rovers Jeanfield Swifts Amateurs Luncarty Amateurs Kettins (champions) Vale of Earn Letham Community Fair City (1st Division 2 - promoted) Alyth (2nd Division 2 - promoted) Rattray (3rd Division 2 - promoted) Division 2 Auchterarder Primrose Ballinluig Stanley Balmoral United Wolfhill Vale of Atholl (pulled out during 21-22 Division 2 season) Kinrossie Caledonian (pulled out during 21-22 Division 2 season) Bridgeton United (pulled out during 21-22 Division 1 season - demoted) Saint John's (back, after a year out - one of the best teams in Perthshire when they took time out) Abernethy (back after several years out) FC Romania (new club from Blairgowrie) Letham Colts are taking a year out
  22. Hillington and Kings Park Rangers haven't gone (they've been relegated to Division 1, as you've pointed out in the same post). Carlton YMCA has moved over to the Glenvale set up to become their amateur wing, and has been renamed to Glenvale Carlton. Duncanrig still seems to be running their Greater Glasgow Premier (B) team. Easthall Star is now part of Easterhouse Football Academy and the team will play in the West of Scotland Senior League (Division 4) next season. Glenburn (not Athletic) - not sure about them, they may have folded. The top 2 last season (Inverclyde and Castlemilk Old Boys Club) have gone for a tougher challenge, and they've joined the Central Scottish AFL, and will play in its Tier 2 next season. Tarbert is returning to the league after a year or two out.
  23. Yeah, some of the clubs said they hadn't been made aware of what league they were in yet, and the season starts in about 10 days.
  24. Thank you. Got the Stirling & District makeup as well - down to just one division of 11 teams. Dundee Saturday Morning will have 3 divisions again, 34 clubs. Now just waiting on Aberdeenshire and Midlands leagues.
  25. Does anyone know the makeup of divisions for any of the following leagues for 2022/23? Aberdeenshire Caledonian Dundee Saturday Morning Midlands Stirling & District
