  1. Fraser, Lembikisa and Haring are near-certs to leave. Grant, Sibbick and Tagawa are likely to get the "free to find another club" treatment. Baningime looks unlikely to renew and Cochrane and Shankland are likely to be sold. That's 9 players out which would give us scope to bring in another 6 without increasing the size of the squad, something like: CB, RB, CM, winger, striker x2.
  2. Yep, Devlin is a good squad player at the very least. Halkett won't be leaving either given he's just re-signed and is injured. Pretty happy with the pre-contract additions so far. I think we're more than covered for bodies across the majority of the squad now so the aim should now be to add a bit of extra quality through the spine of the team and to replace Cochrane, Baningime and Shankland (!) if they leave. Hopefully we'll have the best part of £10m to spend.
  3. Oda isn't anywhere near the exit door for me. Since he scored his first goal he's played the equivalent of 9.6 full games in the league and scored 5 times. Great finish on Saturday and changed the game against Motherwell in his previous appearance. Still only 22.
  4. A frustrating watch. An extremely cheap goal concession when we were comfortable and an extremely cheap goal disallowance when we were in the ascendancy. But I'll get over it.
  5. That is absolutely unforgivable from Sibbick. Still making the same mistakes he was 2 years ago.
  6. Hoping for a defeat obviously, but a win wouldn't be a disaster.
  7. Morton haven't threatened much yet but we've been far too sloppy for me to be confident.
  8. Hopefully we don't need to use the bench. Very light on attacking options.
  9. Yeah, Kent (and Halkett) are probably bigger misses in this type of game than they were against Celtic. It pretty much takes us back to last season's options which means defending crosses and direct play becomes a worry again. Nieuwenhof is also a miss because he can do the physical battling side while also being good technically, whereas with Devlin you lose a bit of the latter. Denholm might be an outside bet to start as he's arguably closest in style to Nieuwenhof. Gordon Lembikisa Kingsley Rowles Cochrane Denholm Baningime Grant Vargas Shankland Forrest
  10. Easy access to AI generated "art" is going to be a huge boon to the Facebook da community.
  11. Hopefully the offside wasn't a turning point. Lack of options and experience on the bench would be my concern.
  12. It's the second nonsense penalty Celtic have had at Tynecastle this season.
  13. The 3rd worst team beat Eintracht Frankfurt. The standard must be fucking amazing.
  14. I'm just glad he lived to see the Beattie and I'm sure he was too.
  15. ^^^ Just scoured Wikipedia for someone who died between May 2012 and March 2014.
  16. You have the same number of wins in Europe and away wins in Glasgow as we have this season, but you're 25 points behind. Congrats on losing a League Cup final, though. No shite team has ever done that.
  17. Celtic seem to be hitting form while we're having a bit of a wobble, and Kent being out is a bit of a nightmare. An away goal in the first 5 minutes and pumped feels like a decent bet.
  18. We've won 14 of our last 18 games against non-OF Premiership teams and only lost once in that time, so he's not far off.
  19. I'm not sure what Romanov has to do with Hibs finishing consistently in midtable, but this is our 9th season since coming up post-admin. We've finished top 6 in 7 of those 9 seasons and are on course for a third top 3 finish. We've had one horrendous season and some other mediocre ones in that time, but the average league performance is much the same as under Romanov and before, 05/06 aside. That's certainly nothing to shout about, but that's how it is. I honestly don't care about the cock measuring contest. It just feels like some Hibs fans wheel out some variant of the "we're having a terrible season and still we managed to do x against you" line just about every year.
  20. That's how far back I had to go to get to a second 3rd place finish for Hibs. If you want a bigger sample size, you've finished top six 11 times out of 23 since the split was introduced. Twice in the last 4 years. Based on last night I'd fancy Hibs to finish 6th. I don't see how that's uniquely bad compared to your usual efforts.
  21. It's pretty obvious, really. You said "this is us in a fucking terrible season" when it's actually an average season for Hibs.
  22. This is Hibs in a perfectly average season. You've finished 3rd once since 2005 and have been outside the top 6 as often as you've been in in that time.
  23. While we're on the topic, I am cursed with the knowledge that we've all been pronouncing Rudi Skácel's name incorrectly for the last 19 years.
  24. In the space of a week I've gone from looking forward to the Celtic game to dreading it. As for 3rd, we have 52 points and Kilmarnock are on pace for 54. Even one win might be enough. I'd say a couple of wins and a couple of draws would make us extremely difficult to catch.
  25. It would have been interesting to see how the rest of the game played out without the penalty. Hibs were the better team over the 90 but seemed to surrender the initiative completely after going in front and just about all of the game between the two goals was played in their half. The equaliser seemed to wake them up again.
