  1. Duns had a piece on their website that the seats are from Stoke who were in the process of removing their faded seats
  2. I wonder if player recruitment might have been easier if they'd been promoted? I know Threave did poorly but surely having a team struggling in the lowland league is better than no team at all
  3. I wasn't meaning to be personal just making a point!
  4. I've been to games involving Arniston, Nitten and Kelty with my kids there knowing full well that Craig Thomson will be playing. He was deemed at the time to not need any specific requirements to keep him away from children. The biggest risk to my children at games he plays in is middle aged moron's in the crowd thinking it's acceptable to call someone a paedo c**t in front of children
  5. http://www.edinburghnews.scotsman.com/sport/football/lower-leagues/eos-chief-expects-other-clubs-to-follow-kelty-into-league-1-4474667
  6. I'm sure Ian king when he was at BSC said after they'd played at AP that Spartans were concreting the other 2 sides with their money from the 5th round cup run. They also had plans approved by the council for a full length covered terrace on the west side but probably not the demand there to justify it. This was at the time they extended the pavilion (2014)
  7. That's ridiculous though isn't it?! I feel really sorry for Banks o Dee as they've built further terraced enclosures thinking that something would change with the highland league. They've won the league the past 2 year's. Seeing as the highland league have already agreed that they would allow a 19th team to be relegated into the league they should just let banks o Dee in now
  8. I highly doubt this would be the case, the documents around at the time the lowland league started said any new members could join SoS or EoS. The EoS has previously had 2 leagues anyway. I agree with a previous poster that it may be better to set up a new South West league open to clubs from the South who feel they could progress and any outward looking junior teams like Clydebank, Auchinleck or Girvan
  9. Do you know if there are any other applicants for the East of Scotland league?
  10. I came in the far corner and there was plenty programmes for sale there too. Not too many faces that I recognised from Bonnyrigg aside from committee and volunteers. Lots of respect it seems between the managers and committees but the players were clearly competitive and lots of niggles between the sides that carried on throughout the game The picture in the programme shows the disabled section as being at the back right of the stand which is a nice touch as the facilities can be terrible. I noticed that from 2018 all members need to have covered disabled spaces so wonder how many teams will need to make an adjustment for that? Also a statement in the program about the licence saying the next SFA board meeting is august so will find out then.
  11. Hawick Common riding is on from the 8th to the 10th of June. I think it's just a massive piss up and everybody's work closes early. It celebrates protecting the town and chasing English soldiers away 700 years ago or something along those lines
  12. EoS AGM was in the second week of June last year (?8th) so any new application or resignation should be known then. I think the junior AGM is later
  13. There would have to be a cut off time to get licence in place. I stopped by Saughton yesterday and there is nothing done yet.
  14. I haven't watched them since they've been in the juniors but would imagine the arrangements would be much the same. supposedly the crowds are up, Crowds were 40-50 in the seniors.
  15. It's also a bit odd that the reasons that they cited for moving was hoping to play more derbies (which hasn't really happened) but also the manager said that had they won the EoS then the lowland league would be unachievable due to the cost of developing facilities yet 2 years later they can't be far off it.
  16. http://www.midlothianadvertiser.co.uk/news/easthouses-lily-stand-and-deliver-a-brighter-future-1-4025146 Funded by SFP and council fund according to the article. The SFA do general awards which aren't necessarily licence related. I thought it was odd at the time to get an award for a 75 seat stand when it wouldn't have been much more for a licence ticking 100 seat stand. It does however say in the article that this is the first stand so maybe planning a second at some point
  17. It's probably been covered before but why is Glencairn not an option? You wouldn't be starting from scratch and couldn't be better placed?
  18. I think they've dropped the Thistle now so just Lothian Hutchison Vale
  19. The pictures that HJ posted looks like it retains some terracing, is that an option?
  20. Is Meadowbank definitely getting flattened this summer? There's still nothing been released confirming what's going to be built. I'd be surprised if it's gone this time next year
  21. Should have had the marionville road terracing open today! 1-0 at half time Edinburgh City have had the better of the first, hit the bar through Allan and been wasteful of another couple of opportunities
  22. Stirling uni might be able to negotiate a cheaper rent at ochilview
  23. Did EK build the new stand behind the goals or are the plans shelved in favour of the new stadium? I'd imagine the current capacity would be too low for play off games this year and potentially league 2 games next year
  24. One thing you can rely on in this country is that our approach to youth football goes through fazes. Take the money on offer, hopefully get a decent league system, suck it up for a few years and there will be another "forward thinker" with a plan about development leagues saving our game in 2018
  25. I wonder what the policing arrangements will need to be?
