  1. Is this true? Most Championship fans had Airdrie as favourites for 10th? Surely that's just lazy "they only came up via the playoffs " chat. They clearly had momentum, scored lots and a clever young manager. I thought it was clear they'd hold their own at least.
  2. On the bench. No way do Mackie or Tait deserve to be dropped after the last 3 or 4 games.
  3. We'll stick him in the reserves then. If you want him cough up*. *obviously the million pounds was a bit of an exaggeration. I would deal at 250k personally.
  4. That will be one million pounds for Jordan Allan if you want him back next season, Clyde.
  5. Don't want to clash with the big televised clash on Alba. #boxofficebairns
  6. Agreed, but all the publicity you see from everyone including the SPFL has 21+2.
  7. So has everyone just decided to award the Kelty OG to Morrison now? As we discussed before, he wasn't even counting it himself when he got to 50! This sort of thing messes with my ch'i @Bainsfordbairn
  8. I think there has been a huge influx in young guys/kids going to the football in the last year or two. U1876 have big numbers and have made a massive impact at TFS, but nearly every club has its own wee band of youngsters doing their thing. As long as they keep the heid they are more than welcome.
  9. Just compared the last 5 fixtures with my life/work calendar... and it looks like I'll not get to any more games this season. I've been there in person for all the promotion parties/trophy days in my time... East Fife 86/Meadowbank 91/Clydebank 94/Ross Co+QOS 05 but I'm going to miss the Alloa silverware show. At least I was at Montrose.
  10. Does he have the looks to join our band of warrior poets though? That's the real question.
  11. Yep. One goal in the last 11 or 12 games before Saturday will not do a league up, unless Morrison, Nesbitt and Miller are knocking them in regularly, and there's no guarantee of that. However, he more than deserves a chance to start as our #9, and a year's extra experience will undoubtedly help him and us.
  12. That's the thing that the "2 massive leagues and play each other twice" brigade fail to address. The drop off in quality, interest and resources when you go into the 2nd tier would be catastrophic. I abhor the OF dominance of our game and its endurance, but the 4 league structure, now it has meaningful playoffs* is magnificent. I love it. The continuum of size of club is just about right (now FFC are back on the up, at least ), and there's enough jeopardy that big teams like Hearts, Hibs, Dundee Utd can semi-regularly go down. *Next step is auto relegation for Team 42.
  13. Fair enough I suppose, nobody is denying he is doing a good job. Not in the same league (hoho) as JMcG though.
  14. I'd definitely be looking to keep Mackie, both as capable replacement for TL (who has had previous injury issues remember), and as a more physical option at LB in certain games where McCann's strengths in getting forward might be less necessary. Also because I think he's absolutely barking and every squad needs a couple of guys like that.
  15. What's this about Airdrie being preseason favourites to go down? You guys blasted through the playoffs, had tremendous momentum, a canny manager, and with Arbroath, QP, Morton and Ayr around, you were never everyone's selection to be last.* *preference, maybe
  16. Happy to see that no da's have been bemoaning the fact that 7th can end up with more points than 6th, while forgetting that the two sections are essentially separate leagues.
  17. Gawd. That takes me back to pinching my dad's KBW cassette tape when in the house by myself and nearly dying at Hey Santa Claus you... and Mick Me Mate among so many classics.
  18. Training this week should just be running laps around a steam room for 3 hours a day. No mercy, we must not lost to these!
