  1. Aye it would be interesting to see how he does if he does move on. Mental to think we'd all be gutted whereas 2 years ago, we'd all chip in for the taxi to Killie. Fair play to him for turning his career around.
  2. For the key decisions IMO. Broadfoot- pen, wrong decision Crawford-no pen, right decision. Wilson- yellow- right decision. Stanway-yellow, wrong decision. Bannigan- no yellow, wrong decision. Stanway- pen, wrong decision. 2 right decisions out of 6, Napier had an absolute mare!
  3. I've heard 1 or 2 rumours of interest in Muirhead and I picked up on Imrie saying in an interview recently saying"we want him to stay" which of course could just mean generally for next season or there's known interest now. If Killie are interested, I'm assuming he will be off and as much as I'd be gutted, he deserves another crack at a big club based on his performances over the last 2 years.
  4. Away from his managerial record with you lot, I thought Bullen was a breath of fresh air for the Championship and enjoyed listening to his post and pre match interviews. Always honest, sincere and complimentary unlike some others in this division. He had to go, no doubt, will be interesting to see who you bring in now.
  5. Disappointed to just get a point from that. Unlucky not to be more than a goal up at the break but Partick did improve in the second half after being largely anonymous in the first 45. Ref been well discussed so no need to talk about him (although quite why he never sent Bannigan off ill never know)but looking forward to seeing the pen claims back. Good to keep the run going, felt we had to win that to catch Partick but its a decent point and a few winnable games coming up to hopefully cement 4th place. Great crowd, been a long time since we had a 27-2800 home fans, encouraging signs moving forward.
  6. I'd be amazed if we were in for him. We have a very good Championship level CB( OConnor) on the bench who can't get a game because of the form of Broadfoot and Baird, another playing RB( French) who can play CB too and even one at LB( Strapp) who has played there in emergencies. The last position we need is a CB.
  7. I guess with Muirhead and Blues playing out wide, McGrattan and Quitongo as backups, Bearne and Boyd are way down the line. That doesn't include Garrity too. Boyd hasn't worked but id like to see how Bearne does playing regularly if he does go out. Shifting Boyd will be an issue as he signed for 2 years. Delighted with Mullen, hopefully Muirhead, Crawford, Oakley and Wilson to follow. I'd obviously include Strapp if possible but fully expext him to move to Madrid or Munich.
  8. Nothing against Murray but thought Imrie would get Dec MOTM. We went from losing 8 games in 11 to being undefeated for 5 games picking up 11 points out of 15 in Dec and keeping 3 consecutive clean sheets. The turnaround was incredible from where we were. I know you won 4 and drew 2 so that's also a brilliant return but you've been consistently good all season whereas we were brutal so felt our upturn in results merited the award more. I was surprised Murray hasn't had if yet right enough so maybe that's why. Hopefully we beat Thistle and Arbroath and he picks up Mr January.
  9. The bigger picture is can we catch you lot. We dont exactly need to "catch" Airdrie as such in the sense that we are right in there beside them and 4-6th places( possibly even more) will probably chop and change week to week with how tight it is. We were ahead of Airdrie 2 weeks ago for example, Dunfermline were ahead of both of us and now we are both above them. Of course we need to overtake them but with 50 odd points available and only 2 points off them with a game in hand, it's not exactly a chase but I get your point. For me, I'm hoping we can collectively drag you back into it as right now you're sitting very comfortable so if Morton, Airdrie, Dunfermline etc can drag you back in, it makes 2 playoff spaces available to aim for. If you win on Sat and go 13 clear of us, catching you is almost impossible, at least for us.
  10. Thought the 1-4 was a tad harsh on us at the time but Partick took their chances, we never! I'm expecting a much closer affair this time around. If we have any aspirations of catching Partick, we need to win this. They will be encouraged by yesterday's results and feel a run could get them closer to the top 2. We should have a full squad to choose from for the first time this season, although not sure where Mcdonald has been the last few weeks but Mullen is clear number 1 anyway. Expect us to line up Mullen French Baird Broadfoot Strapp Wilson Power Blues Crawford Muirhead Oakley Bench- Murdoch, O'connor, Waters, Gillespie, Boyd, McGrattan, Bearne, Quitongo, Garrity. Gillespie could replace Power possibly. Looking forward to this. Team will be absolutely buzzing with the run so should go into this full of confidence. Should be a good crowd too, expect Partick will bring 7-800 down so hopefully 3k+ 3-2. Oakley, Muirhead, Crawford. Of course Graham will score too.
  11. I'd imagine Dougie will be happy for him to stay at Clyde so wouldn't be surprised if he goes back during the window. He's not going to threaten our starting 11 so makes sense to stay at Clyde and play every week.
  12. I heard Goodwin talking about his analytics team "slowing the tackle right down and you can clearly see he won the ball." If you need to slow it right down Jim, its not clear at all. Had no view of the pen claim from the other end but sounds like big Kirk was up to his usual and we got away with one! Are United fans still raging at Strapps throw ins??
  13. Wilson has been absolutely class for us since he got up to match fitness a few months ago. For me he is one of the best midfielders in the Championship and whatever happened between him and MB is a good thing for us. Hopefully we can agree a deal to sign him permanently this window as if he continues this form, he won't be short of offers in the Summer.
  14. Is it that incredible when Murray has basically had a blank cheque this season? Signing guys like Hamilton, Mullin Dabrowski, Watson, Murray, Byrne mostly on very good, long term contracts will have cost a small fortune for the new owners as well as all the infrastructure improvements etc Good luck to them, I'd have loved someone to come in and do the same at Morton but it's not exactly fairytale stuff here. Their budget from last season when they finished 7th to this year will be night and day. No doubt they are performing well but it's hardly a shock to see them up there, think most of us expected it. Dont mind the Rovers so hopefully they maintain it and pip United to the title.
  15. We will probably make it difficult for you to break us down whilst remaining competitive and dangerous ourselves. George Oakley will be key for us to get us up the park, something we didn't have in our last two away games against Inverness and Airdrie. Missing Robbie Muirhead for this via suspension but we do have a couple of options to replace him, guessing McGrattan for his defensive qualities. Our midfield options of Crawford, Wilson, Gillespie/Power are all playing well and we will need that to continue. Defensively, we look very solid and are giving very little chances away. We've only had 3 shots on target against us in the last 3 games combined.4 clean sheets on the bounce and if that continues, I think all Morton fans will take it. 1-1.
  16. Think most Morton fans were very concerned after the first third, losing 8 of out first 12 games and sitting bottom. Since then, we've massively improved, undefeated in 6, 4 clean sheets, looking very solid and pretty much all are injured players are back. Seen a comment above that we have a thin squad but with injuries clearing and loans returning, we are sitting with 21 players at the moment so no concerns there. Would imagine we see some movement this month, both ways. Still think we can finish anywhere from 3rd to 9th but we need to be targeting top 4 with the run we are on and no reason we can't get there. Disappointing that we haven't beat anyone above us in the league yet and that will need to change if we want a top 4 finish. Think DU will get over the line, just. Raith will run them very close. QP need a miracle. 15 games without a win is horrific and I can't see them surviving unless they get the cheque book out. Nuts to think they are only 3 points off 9th with the run they are on.
  17. A sound pumping. Incredible to think that Ayr team went from scoring 4 in Kirkcaldy, 3 with ten men, to just 2 shots, zero on target against us. Brilliant turnaround from us. Form team in the division, 4 consecutive clean sheets and almost a full squad to choose from again. Both Robbies terrific as were Oakley and Wilson. 2 big tests to come, away to United and home to Thistle. Come through them and we will be looking good for top 4 after being bottom for weeks, some league!
  18. Great to see Jai back in the squad. McAlister had a bit of a mare last time he was here and was subbed at HT, hopefully history repeats itself.
  19. Do all the Inverness fans who post on here go in the home end when they visit Cappielow then??? What a ridiculous post.
  20. Aye it's not the team I'd go with but we all know Dougie won't bench Blues/Muirhead/Broadfoot so in Dougie we trust and all that. We've missed Oakley so great to have him back and hopefully he can dominate whoever plays CB for Ayr. Fully expect them to bring in a loan before the game. I'm still waiting for Robbie Crawford to get back to his best, been pretty quiet for a good while now, hopefully he turns it on against his former club. He still puts a shift in, just not had much of an impact recently. 5 unbeaten and 3 consecutive clean sheets, so we should go into this with a lot of confidence but we've been here before against Ayr at the end of last season and were soundly beaten. 3-1.
  21. 11 men behind the ball, haha. That's nearly as laughable as the 2100 attendance announcement, but not quite.....
  22. Presumably same team as last week and for me, probably the same outcome. Keep Broadfoot on the bench and let O'connor and Baird build up a good partnership again. If we can sneak 3 points, great but as long as we come down the road with at least a point, it will be a good end to the year for us and sets us up nicely going into the New Year. Inverness haven't been great recently, certainly results wise, so you never know. We were comfortably the better team a few weeks back. 1-1.
  23. Don't expect too much from movement at Morton either. Harkness returned to Rangers not long after signing due to injury and French has a recall option with Dundee in Jan so if he goes back , we obviously need a new Rb. To be honest, wouldn't be that bothered if he does go back, hasn't been that impressive and we could probably find better. Big one for Morton is Strapp. Only signed until Jan but think we would all love to see him sign on until at least the summer. If I'm being greedy, another striker would be ideal, someone to come on and have an impact and give competition to Oakley and Muirhead who play 90 mins most weeks. Quitongo and Boyd could do that job if fit and on form but that's been few and far between this season. Someone like Ally Roy last year, except with actual ability. King and Garrity due back in Jan. I'd keep King out but possibly take Garrity back and give us another attacking option, especially with Quitongo always injured, Bearne raw and Boyd off form. Garrity appears to be doing well at Annan. Maybe give him some game time in Jan and if doesn't do well enough, he can go back to Annan.
  24. Delighted with that. Aye O'connor is a given and one of McGrattan, Boyd or Bearne I'm guessing on the left with Blues continuing on the right. Hopefully McGrattan gets the nod. Gillespie looks back to his form of last season so wouldn't seperate him and Wilson. The big man has been class once he got up to match fitness. Quietly confident about this one. Robbie Crawford has had a quiet few weeks, looking for a performance from him tomorrow. 1-2 Muirhead and Crawford.
  25. Cmon man, he brings 99% of it on himself. I actually avoided the board for a few weeks as I couldn't handle his drivel and that's all he has to do if he doesn't like the "abuse" I've no idea who he is, you clearly do but this is hardly playground bullying ffs. He gives as much as he receives and good on him for that but my god, he is hard work!!
