  1. I know feck all about football, or anything else, but I think the subs at Raith and converting to a back five was simply a tactical mistake, especially with ten men, rather than pushing the project. It allowed Raith to control the play and bang over cross after cross. We were the better side at 2-1 and ten men.
  2. Random thoughts - We were well in control against Bala but, yip, I agree that we fell a bit short when it came to the final ball. I did see a good bit more in Jack Turner; very pleased he scored. It's a different game for most of these lads and it'll take a while yet to bed it all in. I watched the Bala game yesterday and the commentators were full of praise for the way we played. I was impressed too.
  3. Really looking forward to being back at Hampden although a bigger Lesser would be better, but that won't be happening. Hopefully a decent Pars support will make a bit of noise and QP use the occasion to bring in loads of local kids. We knocked the ball around well on Saturday but I reckon Dunfermline will be a step up from Bala. No cause for alarm though; Thomas to score, as will Paton. 2-1 to your favourites and the QP juggernaut starts to pick up speed again.
  4. That is, of course, pish. Usual suspects Dundee, Airdrie and Hearts, but no one else that I can recall.
  5. Deary me. Do everyone, including yourself, a favour and stay at home with your Lego.
  6. The rule - "denying ......a goal or an obvious goal scoring opportunity" Is that what Tizzard did? Was it Messi for Raith or a Scottish Championship jobber?
  7. I saw on the QP highlights that a wee lad in a white top threw something at Dom Thomas after he scored. Hopefully someone at Raith sorts this out.
  8. I read txrover's comment above and he may be more up to speed than me on this, but I thought that there's a rule which means you can't offer a youngster a contract past his 17th birthday which is December in the big guy's case. As I say, I could be wrong. Again. His agent will be weighing up options before he signs anything. He kept us in the game on Saturday and is undoubtedly an exceptional talent. Get him selt for a squillion quid with loads of add on clauses and loaned back to us.
  9. Hopefully the Rovers change their slippers for boots for the second half. First goal - it's a foul for QP not Rovers and then there's a two handed push in the back on Paton ignored before the sending off. On the half way line and it's a red? Beelin!!
  10. A very hard shift for Bruce and I thought that maybe we should have gone with experience in Robson and Longridge at full back, but there won't be many easy games this season, so the young guys will have to deal with challenging days like today.
  11. Far too many unforced errors, not something we've been guilty of so far. And every feckin corner kick went straight to the keeper, which is a recurring theme. I felt for Cammy Bruce as Lawless absolutely roasted him. Taking him off at half time was probably the lesser of two evils, better than leaving him on. We're going to have days like this.
  12. The Supporters'Association Facebook page is feck all to do with the football club. An easy one to differentiate between.
  13. QP fans will happily chip in if there is a crowd funding initiative to replace it.
  14. You could argue (and I will) that the FA Cup finals of 1884 and 1885 between Blackburn Rovers and Queen's Park were the nearest things to competitive world championship tussles. We'll gloss over the results though.
  15. The same guys behind "re-sign Goodwillie or you'll lose sponsors". I take no pleasure in saying that your club is fucked.
  16. Come on, Glensmad. Never mind concentrating on the work you have to do for the next game, sort out the pub for the fans for a game a couple of weeks away! Get your priorities right!!
  17. Just watched the highlights. The pass from Spong for the goal is simply magnificent. That two or three seconds as the ball slowly rolled goalward seemed like minutes at the time. Two great saves from McKenna. Another excellent shift from all involved. Interesting to note the rotation and the subs.
  18. Aye, a lot of people preferred us when we were cannon fodder for them. We'll see how it all pans out. It's certainly an exciting time for us.
  19. Not pretty and Arbroath were definitely better, but it's three points for your favourites and a lovely look at the top of the table. Fox was outstanding and big McKenna was certainly entertaining.
  20. Bala away for the QP. Deepest, darkest Wales. Spunkadelic. Read it and weep, kids.
  21. It would. But that was before social media named and shamed!
