  1. Watching Cantona in a series called "Inhuman Resources", a French update on the Yosser Hughes character in Boys from the Black Stuff. He's absolutely superb.
  2. Anything being forced on us from the US could never be deemed as petty, but this Black Friday pish is getting to me. I'm desperate to buy something. Anything. They b*****ds have trapped me and I'm being pulled in.
  3. I keep thinking we're just about to burst into action and give someone an absolute doing. Still waiting. But ever hopeful. Saturday it is! Away win.
  4. Many, many years ago when QP's third team, the Hampden XI, played in the Scottish amateur league with games at Lesser Hampden, one of our fans was slagging off an opposition player. The guy eventually had enough and vaulted the fence and chased the QP fan out the ground.
  5. Irrespective of your thoughts on his suitability, if you're in the Premier with County, Livi or one of the other smaller sides, 23'6% might not be all that bad given your games against the OF won't be successful. You don't have a lot to work with in terms of resources. Anyway, a moot point. I think we'll stick with RV.
  6. That was as bad as I've felt after a game for a while and I couldn't bear to read the posts until today. I've been pleasantly surprised that there is more of a hint of positivity amongst the understandable tears and general frustration. My main gripe with the game was that we left a man of a ten man team unmarked at the back post for the second. That's criminal. I felt for both Veldman and Bannon in their interviews. You could see that they were absolutely gutted. It'll be interesting to see what we do in the January window. I'm not up for ex-Premier jobbers but we desperately need a match winner but these guys are thin on the ground. Pointless to even think about it but I will; last season's Murray would be the ideal man to convert us into top four material. But that won't be happening.
  7. QP played a very young team but Accies had a few with experience including Zanatta and it did seem to make a difference. Quite impressed with Archie Graham at the back.
  8. It's great; I'm back to looking forward to games again. Home win. Goals frenzy from Paton sinks the Ravers.
  9. Had a swatch at the highlights. The foul given for the (woefully defended) goal that looked to go straight in - never a foul. Thomas slips and lands on the ball, handling it. A yellow card? I think not. But it's Collum and you're guaranteed coming away from any game he does wondering what he sees in that twilight world he inhabits. But we'll take the five extra minutes. Sheer joy when the equaliser went in. We deserved at least a point.
  10. Not the best cup draw but with, the Fife derby being televised, at least it should be a Saturday.
  11. Massive improvement from a couple of weeks ago. Reid and Bannon seemed comfortable, Jarrett was impressive, Longridge again excellent, and a generally good shift from everyone. Paton needs a kick up the arse for missing three sitters. Not good enough. Adeloye is possibly the worst footballer I've ever seen score against us. No bookings for Thistle? Graham was doing his best to referee the game and if he actually had the whistle and playing, he'd have felt obliged to book at least Williamson. Two points dropped but a big improvement.
  12. I thought that we were the top boys for changing match days but Dundee United have had theirs moved to "celebrate" their name change from Dundee Hibs. We'll need to up our reasons for changing game days.
  13. Looking at the big picture, I can't see the mighty Queen's troubling United at the top of the table anytime so a 10-0 win for the Hibees would bring Arbroath's goal difference a wee bit nearer ours.
  14. I think we need to sort out the men's team before we tackle any professional status for the women's team. It's a tad challenging at the moment, and that's without considering the potential loss of Beuker. Let's not forget, we're running a fully professional first team squad and a massive youth set up via one man's philanthropy on a home support of about 700. Unless someone comes in with a big wad of cash to fund the women's team and that allows us to support them adequately to compete with, at least, the semi-professional sides, I can't see us going down that road. I'm not being all "yer da" here, I'm just trying to be realistic. It would be absolutely terrific if we could try to emulate what we're doing with the men's side, and this would complement that setup beautifully, but we would need another Willie Haughey to do that.
  15. I get where you're coming from but I'm shuddering at the thought of some of the experienced heads kicking about - John Hughes, Jim Duffy, Billy Dodds etc etc! If Beuker does go, the next appointment is going to be even more important than his, I reckon. As I've said, I'd be concerned about Haughey upping sticks if we decide not to keep the Beuker momentum going. And if Beuker goes, does he take some of his team with him? "Challenging" times.
