Apparently there was a run in with some QP officials when the Celtic folks explained to them that the stadium wasn't suitable (re H&S regs amongst other things) for having both spectators and broadcast crews in at the same time.

There was also apparently a security/safety issue when a ball girl got caught up in a pitch invasion.

Apart from anything else, and I'm in agreement with the comments on the mess we've got ourselves in with Lesser, I'd get Celtic tae feck. Remember when they played at Hampden when Parkhead was being rebuilt. We were under big pressure by the SFA to allow it and the thanks we got was wee Magoo and his club being taken to court over unpaid bills.

Plus, if their fans can't be trusted to behave, that's another reason to turn them down.

Why don't Queen's Park fans sing?: discuss.

Or will we always be labelled "what a sh#tey home support"?

The ICT school trip kids were giving it this to the point of tedium on Saturday but you can hear someone change their mind up at Inverness, so I wouldn't be too concerned at what other teams' fans think of us. There's always a decent vocal support at away games. And it's quality, not quantity, that counts.

Absolutely on board with this despite the obvious issue in that Beardy can barely manage himself.

Passion and commitment not in doubt though and zonal marking at corners cannae be any worse.

I spoke to him today and he said that any f@nny (eg Barry Ferguson, Frank Lampard) can get a gig, so why shouldn't he be the next f@nny.

Our client also worded an advert for a new apprentice to the effect that if you can't keep off your phone don't bother applying.

My daughter is working with a guy who's on a three month trial and who is permanently on his phone claiming he's too busy to do what he's told to do. He won't last.

We can have both... to a certain extent. The "model" is the only way a professional Queen's Park can survive and be sustainable in the future considering the fact that the largest home crowd we can consistently at

Who do you think you are to come here and teach Queen's Park, the club which basically invented the game, how to play football? The more I think about it, the angrier I get. I hope the club doesn't pull another stunt like this because I would like to think we have plenty of managerial talent and skill in this country.

Our best days are about 130 years behind us and Scottish club sides are a joke in Europe. What Scottish managers currently looking for a job would you be keen on?

  6. I really don't see us taking a punt on anyone without a bit of experience in Scottish football. And, no, not Yogi.

We made bold appointments with Laurie Ellis and Robin Veldman (to our credit I would say) and they didn't end well.

To be honest, I would have been happy if we'd retained Veldman and appointed an auld Scottish heid like Dick to help him. The squad is so young and inexperienced, we need someone who can identify a seasoned pro who can kick the erses of the guys we have and pull them together.

  7. The sacking might mask discussion of the mistakes all too apparent on the park. We're not marking up and the opposition midfield stream through without being tracked. Whilst the manager carries the can for the results, and has done here, the players should be looking at their own performances. It's basic stuff;  marking up and tracking back is in the hands of the players. We're in big trouble if the new guy can't give them a boot up the erse and get them to step up their game.

Didn't one of the national managers (Roxburgh? Brown?) demonstrate a statistical 'balls into the box/resulting number of goals' ratio?

I hate short corners as well, or free kicks being played sideways or short. Get the ball into the box FFS!

I think both Roxburgh and Brown played for QP. Their experience of short corners at the club would explain why they preferred the ball being banged over

    1) He spent two days in Belgium watching the Anderlecht game last week just before the Thistle game.

    2) He blocks everyone with even the slightest bit of criticism on social media

    Etc

    1) Was this not him taking part of his coaching badge, which he is going through? That was the reason for his previous trip there.

    2) "everyone" and "slightest bit of criticism " - do you have access to his social media accounts to monitor this? Anyway, is it part of his job to accept anonymous stick from people? Quite frankly, if you don't have the bottle to talk to him face to face, but have a go under some alias, you can hardly complain.

    3) would you have kept Tizzard on after his third /fourth howler in that game, the last of which resulted in a goal?  If he had run off the park straight to the bench, there wouldn't have been anything like the stooshie. It was, I fully accept, embarrassing for the lad.

    4) I don't agree that he doesn't take responsibility in interviews. I think he's quite honest and generally refers to "we".

Putting your comment on him not being a nice guy into context, Putin is not a nice guy.  Veldman is struggling to sort things out, that's true, but how many of our goals lost are down to player errors? A very high percentage, I'd say.

It remains to be seen if he can turn things around but remember that he's working with the players presented to him and he's having them adapt to a completely new way of playing.

It's in everyone's interest that the current gash run of form comes to an end.
