  1. Agreed, but he's only trying to cover up for McTominay's failings, especially after the goal. Palmer has looked fairly good going forward which has surprised me.
  2. Stuff like this is exactly why I don't watch golf. If they are going to have it that easy you're as well deciding it on the practice green and avoid wasting everybody's time.
  3. [emoji85][emoji85][emoji85][emoji85][emoji85] Apology accepted.
  4. I don't see how you could possibly have scored the first three rounds to Povetkin. Round 1 was close, prob edged Povetkin. Round 2 and 3 were clear wins for Whyte though and obviously the 10-7 in the 4th. Guess it's all about opinions...
  5. Good find. I still don't like it but at least that addresses one concern
  6. Where did you read that about the course rating being able to change? This is something I've been looking for but can't find a straight answer which leads me to believe it is static as, I believe, slope ratings are in America? I'm amazed more folk aren't talking about it in general. In fact, I get the sense that about half of club golfers don't know it's happening
  7. Have we ever seen a bullpen as bad as the Phillies? This pen must be setting all sorts of records this year
  8. He's been absolutely shafted by the WBC, I'm not sure anyone could deny that. In the meantime, he's taken on plenty of good opponents and has shown up well. Even last night he was in complete control before being caught with a shot. That punch would have knocked out any boxer (admittedly he was open to the uppercut since the first bell) and I think that he's a difficult fight for any of the top guys. His interviews on IFL TV and the other YouTube channels are always entertaining also, comes across well.
  9. If my understanding is correct, each course will have a slope rating which your handicap index will be used alongside in order to get your score. Presumably this means that the conditions on the day will not be taken into account? My course is a par 68, SSS 69 but the CSS fairly commonly goes to 70 which seemingly would be unadjusted in the new system. Is that correct? What are the overall feelings on the new system? I think it will take away alot of enjoyment from competitive golf. When playing poorly you might know you need to play the last 5 in +1 for buffer which gives you something to aim for. Or knowing that a par at the last is good for a cut. That side of the game will be completely lost.
  10. Frustrating season for me so far... handicap has went from 5.4 to 6.0, highest I've been for almost 3 years which is disappointing. Hitting the ball consistently well but making far too many double bogeys, generally out of nothing caused by stupid mistakes. Managed buffer with a double and an 8 on my card last Wednesday and buffer again on the Saturday without holing anything from outside 4 ft (literally). Took a week off the competitive stuff and played 9 holes in +2 today (with a double at the easiest hole on the course), putted well so hoping to build on that next week. Is the worldwide handicap system coming in for 2021 right enough? If so, I do wonder what my handicap will end up with the season I've had!
  11. Interested to hear why folk think Whyte is a knob. Aside from the carry-on with Chisora (which I blame Chisora for in the main) I've always found him quite likeable.

    FIFA 19

Anyone still playing FIFA19? Been playing a few online tournaments (no charge) organised through one of the facebook pages. Fairly entertaining. Didn't buy FIFA this year for the first time in forever after all the bad reviews at the start, bad year not to get the latest game but still seems to be plenty of folk on FIFA19 for the same reason.
  13. Foreman down in the fourth. Haye down in the 5th before being knocked out whilst up on the cards. 6.7k tuned in last night, less than 2k today
  14. Muhammad Ali v Evander Holyfield in the WBSS tonight at 5pm live on the WBSS Facebook page. Not sure if there's a betting market available. Other quarter final matches are (all 5pm) - Lennox Lewis v Joe Frasier (Tues) Mike Tyson v Butterbean (Wed) George Foreman v David Haye (Thu) Semi finals are Friday & Saturday with the final on Sunday. In case it's not obvious, I'm struggling with the lack of boxing already.
  15. So the Big Quitter lands the golden ball and predictably avoids McKenna. For what it's worth, I'd have marginally favoured the Quitter in that fight but not surprised in the slightest that he's took the easy option despite all his chat
  16. HATE this one. Guy comes in and gives up back to back home runs, you need to leave him out there for a third batter? Doesn't sit right with me at all. I'm sure in said case the pitcher would be holding his arm in "agony" and there would be an injury exception but still, doesn't make it anywhere near right in my opinion.
  17. [emoji1659][emoji1659][emoji1659][emoji1659][emoji1659][emoji1659][emoji1659] Never in doubt
  18. For a good while Skybet have been doing an evening promotion on virtual sports, bet £10 get £5 free bet (Monday & Wed I think) and bet £50 get £10 free on a Friday. Virtual speedway has only 4 riders. Split the £10/£50 stake across the three shortest odds ensuring the returns cover your stake and use the £5/£10 free bet on the outsider. Eventually they restricted my account doing this but only after making £500 or so over the past couple of months.
  19. Not on them tonight. Eagles defence was due a bad game, definitely didn't swing and miss on that one.
  20. Eagles... Wow. Unbelievable.
  21. Anyone watching the Golden Contract fights tonight? The Big Quitter up next, has shaved his head since he decided he's going to try and be a nice guy for the 15th time. Only problem being he can't help being a p***k because he's a p***k [emoji85]
