It will be a balance for McGlynn to keep the defence solid but have us look more dangerous in the final third. Williamson overall was poor yesterday but he did make some good underlapping runs inside to no avail. Mackie got forward on occasion but perhaps not as often as I’d have liked. For me there was a real lack of link up play out wide throughout the game. Between the full back, wide players, whoever was playing as a 10, and whoever was playing as a striker. Don’t think our shape first half helped with this but can see why McGlynn tried it. Be interesting to see what Kennedy is liked when he is back fit. I’d have been looking at the likes of Dan Armstrong out wide and Innes Cameron up front from Kilmarnock but they both played for them yesterday. Almost every team in the country right now seems 1 or 2 players short despite the league campaign kicking off, wonder what it’ll look like when the window shuts.

No idea what type of striker Connell is but scoring 8 goals for that East Fife team last year looks a decent return. Henderson scored well for Alloa. Can’t believe he’s still at Hearts at 22. Would imagine they’d prefer a Championship club to loan him to. Again imagine Hamilton would be Championship at the lowest. Know nothing about Jamieson. Be interesting to see who else out there is still available on a free. Likes of Telfer and Mutch still without a club at this stage, as examples.

Did anyone actually say Harris was great, at any point? All I remember is people saying it was another lazy signing and weren’t overly enamoured by it. Happy to be proven wrong though.

Managers will never say they’re unhappy with their squad publicly in case they need to use players at certain points in certain games. Absolutely no chance he wouldn’t get shot of them or upgrade them if he could and replace them with better. These interviews are lip service, with a slight indicator to transfer news, nothing more.

Seb Ross did a Q and A on Instagram and mentioned Ethan struggles with homesickness. Believe they both live with each other in the central belt which is helping, but moving on his own to Ayrshire with that in mind may not see him in his best form. Bit of a commute for Seb up from Ayrshire to be on the bench for us, so makes sense either Kilmarnock or Ayr taking a punt on him to accommodate.

Not unless he was using this game for fitness, think Serie A starts back later than us.

Where’s this Ethan Ross stuff come from? The guy is under contract at Raith. Why would he be a trialist with us? That and the Brian Graham rumour, goodness sake.

He mentioned in his loan spell at Falkirk how quickly he could grow a beard so doesn’t surprise me to see it back in as early as 2 weeks.

Bit late with this but yes that’s him. He’s changing career and got something to do with Oil and Gas up in Aberdeen so a part time move to Peterhead makes sense. Would have taken him back at Falkirk. Wonder if we could have got him part time playing and a job with Ineos? Anything better than Holt, that’s for sure!

I know it seems ridiculous but I’ve heard the Brian Graham rumour also. Believe the issue is working out if he can still be a womens coach of one team, and a player for another club, otherwise the loan deal would have gone through. Heard this from the same guy who told me about Ross.

Think he’s got a few options. Rather than saying publicly ‘we’ve got Ethan Ross playing friendlies’ if you say he’s a trialist, it limits the publicity and a team in a higher league taking him. Looking hopeful that this will be concluded this week. Not sure what his contract situation is but he’s definitely played for us in the last two friendlies.
